TV Stand

It's the firest stuffs I bought from IKEA. Great package with quality products. What I was mostly impressed was the assembly instructions, so detail and easy to follow. I think they're really good to know how to do business in Canada. It takes me 30 minutes to assemble the TV stands and my wife praise me a lot. Well, I would thank IKEA bring us fun and quality life. I'm planning to equip the rooms with all kinds of furnitures, cabinets, chairs, from IKEA.

Dining Table

I purchased the Fusion dining table & chairs for $249.00 in the "AS-IS" section. Regular price $449.00. Discounted price due to a barely noticeable cosmetic scratch on one of the corners.
AS-IS is a great place to start your shopping, they have tons of furniture at discounted prices, including slipcovers, pillows & accessories. The defects are very slight & they get new items in there almost every day.

The products were okay, the price attracted me. Ikea has a great variety of styles, colours, prices, ect. Fairly easy to assemble. Still holding up.

Closet System Installation

I came home from a business trip and saw that our bedroom finally had a full closet system. Given our tiny previous closet and the disarray that led to, this is almost worth giving five stars for. But not quite. In dealing with Ikea, you really have to assess the whole experience. I think those who get the most out of Ikea are actively involved in the process and know what they want. But let's explore what went into getting this closet. First, we needed to select all the pieces ourselves. It's all totally self-serve. Then, we needed to haul those mothers off the shelves and onto dollies. These things are huge! When you're a guy, instead of asking for help, you're going to do it yourself in the store. But you're going to be sweating. The next headache is: yes you guessed it, not all the pieces are in stock. We have a small car, not exactly a minivan or truck. So... guess what, we're paying for delivery. There seems to be no sympathy for the fact that we wound up with two (OK, I'll admit it, due to a screwup on somebody's part, we wound up with THREE separate purchases requiring you guessed it, THREE deliveries.) Now: the huge closet pieces are in the house. Due to our need for a floor renovation, they sat there for four months. After that reno was done, Carolyn called the installers. That's when things took a turn for the better! They came out the next day and installed them fast for a dirt cheap price. Sounds like a pain but California Closets is like 4X the price.

Kitchen Disaster

I first went to Ikea. I fell in love with their design and not really knowing any other place to go. Then I spoke with their salesperson. They knew nothing about what they were selling. My husband asked them about the cabinets being standard and fitting our space. They said it will fit. Meanwhile they are trying to sell me these things that go in the middle that don't even let me use the space I have in my kitchen. It's all pre made and they just slap on extra pieces that I can't to be used for storage space. Yes my kithen would've looked good but it wouldn't be functional. I put in the order anyway because there was no one else I knew. BIG MISTAKE. They sent some kid for a "consultation" who didn't even know what was going on. Overall I came back a few days later to ask cancel my order. I am still having problems dealing with that

Furniture

In picking up my order of coffee tables from Ikeas big warehouse bins, I mistakenly picked up the wrong colour table for one of the set.

I realized this only after it was delivered (the same day). I phoned Ikea, at which time they said that the correct colour for the one table (that I got wrong) was in stock. I took the one table back myself and upon arrival at exchanges desk, they told me that the colour was not available because it was in the higher storage area. They would not be able to get the table down for me until after closing at a time when no customers are in store, to endanger with the forklift. I wasn't happy and explained politely what I was told by phone earlier. The service rep was very helpful and arranged for the one table to be delivered free, on the next morning. As promised the table arrived.

kitchen

We are doing a brand new kitchen renovation and went to IKEA. We had a positive experience with Matthew who helped order our kitchen and offer recommendations. We used the useful IKEA kitchen planner and went to the store where Matthew finessed it and then we ordered it and had it delivered. ( we haven't put the kitchen together yet, as renovations are moving slowly! ) :-) The only thing I had a problem with was I ordered another item I forgot after the big order (a valence lighting part) by phone order and faxed my credit card # and didn't receive the actual receipt as promised which may be a problem if I return it.
