JAD Contracting Ltd.

Simply put, JAD is a contractor who uses drywall and other soundproofing materials to soundproof, nothing more. He's not a sound engineer so go spend your specialist dollars elsewhere or have a MUCH cheaper contractor buy the same materials. I could not agree more with the 0* ratings. He does not deliver! Perhaps JAD soundproofing works for some people's noises but it DOES NOT WORK for babies crying and for footsteps. DO NOT HIRE him without having a sound engineer come first because, wait for it, the $15,000 I spent did not include it. He's a contractor, nothing more, I could've had my neighbour do this for half the cost and still get no results. Jake has no idea how to address different frequencies, he simply adds layers of drywall to the walls. Talk about applying a Band-Aid to the problem! Do not let him tell you it will work. Jake also loves to pass the blame, he won't listen, he even told his contractors in front of me that one of my concerns was not important. I'm pregnant and my young daughter and I were relegated to live in the basement for almost 2 weeks instead of also having our main floor to enjoy simply because his contractors did not cover the upstairs as promised and the entire main floor was covered in drywall dust. Who does that to a family?! Jake loves to get caught up in the semantics of wording, saying that their services did reduce noise (not the issues I have of course), that he does effectively communicate your needs to his contractors, and much more, but it couldn't be further from the truth. The emotional distress that he has added to this pregnant single mother cannot be measured. The cherry on top? He charged my credit card before knowing if the soundproofing worked and now is saying I must be hearing the noises from the ceiling, hallway, and elsewhere when the baby crying is literally in the bedroom, on the other side of my wall. He REFUSES to fix the problem, or even send an engineer at $450 to assist. How cheap can someone be when they haven't delivered a service! Please please do your diligence, hire an engineer, get another contractor to do the job and absolutely, if you're dealing with high frequencies like babies crying or low frequencies, like footsteps, DO NOT PAY FOR JAD SOUNDPROOFING. Anyone else has $15,000 they want to pour down the drain?
