window replacement

Our windows and doors are finally all replaced and I could not be happier. the house looks fantastic and Igor and his team were spectacular. I am truly satisfied this time around with the workmanship on the second fase of our windows replacement.
After our complaint the beggining of the year with the manufactuer, Tony assisted us in getting service to our home. It was finally completed a few weeks ago and so far we are satisfied.
even though we had difficulty with the windows, we chose to give Ambia windows more business.Tony is an honest gentleman, and we wanted to give him the opportunity to rectify our issues and still benefit from our business.

thanks Tony. A job well done..

Tony we are sorry that unfortunatly you suffered from our issues, in business it must all be takens with a grain of salt.

we had all the front windows to our house replaced last year. after rewiving many retailers, Tony's soft mannerism and his sales pitch and products impressed us the mose and we decieded to have our windows replaced. I must say he was accomodating, the installer
Dimitri was fantastic, even though before dimitri showed up we were sent a fiasco of an installer with tons of family problems. the job was completed to our satisfaction. though a few months later two of our windows, mainly our bathroom double hung windwos leaked water inside. Tony came to inspect, they sent the manufacturer (window city windows) they gave us nothing problems, port holes were not drilled in our windows, therefore a manufacturing defect... the service technician wanted to drill holes in the windows right then and there. we refused, with much dissatifaction on the manufacturer's behalf and insistance on our part, the windows were replaced. We decided within the year to have a quotaion on the back of the windows done, Tony came back and his prices were not as competitive this time around, we put the project on hold and in the maean time experienced mold growth oun our windows. Ever so gallant tony returned explaining he had never seen such on windows, took pictures and promised to have the windows looked at. to have someone show at the house was like pulling teeth, they did show after a few weeks and a few weeks later, the manufacturer stated that they could remove all the windows, clean the mold and re caulgh them again.
Are you kidding me. what happens to the argon gas fill...
so with Tony's help a representative of window city( who later turned out to be the chief executive officer) agreed to meet with us and tony at their office.
Our meeting was less then pleasurable, we were not given the opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and were kicked out of the building, and teld that we could take them to court.
this is where we were disappointed with Tony, he allowed us to walk out and when faced with adversity was not able to side with us.
we still love the windows, the back of our house to date has not been replaced and we are having troubles trusting another window company.
we will in the spring proceed unfortunatly with small claims court as we were left with no choice but to do such....
be aware before you choose a window city product. Tony is a nice person however the manufacturer does not care to please customers.
the cheif executive officer told us in our meeting that he did not need our business
we remain very disappointed shoppers

Company Response

I would like to thank you for your review Imma but quite frankly I am disappointed and surprised with your unfair and unreasonable comments directed to Ambia Windows and Doors especially when I made several visits to your home as well as numerous emails and consultation to establish a resolution to a relatively minor issue.
We have been very supportive right from the start.
I was always there for you and answered all your calls.
I was on the jobsite while we were installing your windows to make sure everything went smootly.
George had told me he was very happy with our price, product and installation and that there was a wide price range from the estimates you received.
We also included extras incuding larger upgraded solid stain grade interior casing and Backband for all your windows and some interior door trims.
On the second phase of your windows we offered you a generously discounted price and also included the patio door for free and the matching upgraded interior trim in appreciation for your business.
We made every effort to accomodate the service required for your windows and although the leak in two of the bathroom windows were not defective and only required a small drainige hole to be routered and to insert a drain cap we looked after the entire replacement of those two windows as well.
The mould which you describe is most probably as Window City stated dirt that somehow got trapped in between the exterior glass pane and the exterior weather stripping and as I mentioned I have never seen this occur before,it is an isolated case, yet Window City had agreed in a timely manner to take out the sealed glass units and clean off the dirt and reinstall, reseal the glass units for the windows concerned.Resealing the glass units is not required or neccesary but Window City was willing to provide this to you as an added measure.
For eample:If a broken sealed glass unit had to be replaced the interior glazing stops are simply removed from the inside and the sealed glass unit is removed and replaced with a new one, that is all that is reqired or neccesary. This is a standard industry procedure.
This method would not affect any Argon gas fill to escape as they are self contained and the weather stripping is permanently attached to the window profile known as the sash.
If this were the case then we would not be able to change sealed units including Argon gas.
You have chosen to decline the service,so I arranged to have a meeting with yourself and your husband George to meet myself and the President of Window City to show and explain to you the process they would use to service the windows.
They were willing to service one window at a time in your home to make sure you are happy before proceeding to next window.
They offered to send their Specialist to come and visit your home and vicinty to rule out any enviromental issues that could be a contributing factor with the dirt trapped in the windows.
The President of Window City was polite and courteous in addressing your concerns to this situation and very patient,he listened to your concerns but you did not give him the opportunity to finish his explanation and for some reason you abruptly interrupted him, stood up and started walking out the door. This is somewhat frustrating and does not allow us in any way to resolve the situation.
Window City has never declined to complete the service required for your windows and their commitment to service your windows still stands today. They are waiting to hear from you so that they can proceed.I have tried to contact you the same day and several times afterwards with out a response from either yourself or George and I don't understand it at all.
You have to understand that in order for Ambia and Window City to assist you we have to be given the opportunity to do so.
