Creative solution to groundwater seepage

Our water in the basement saga has a new chapter, and one that Waterworks helped us resolve satisfactorily. We started with an interior water management solution from Clark Basement Systems (which I remain very happy with overall). Then we used Waterworks to put in a sewer backflow prevention valve on the main sewer line... again, the quality of the work was outstanding.

However, one side effect was that in the maintenance access pit for the backflow prevention valve, we were getting some groundwater seepage. Admittedly, I would have expected this to have been handled by the interior water management solution we'd previously put in place, but this water was not coming from the perimeter, and thus, the perimeter defense was inneffective.

I discussed the problem with Waterworks, and they eventually came up with a very creative solution to allow the water to drain properly by fiitting the backflow prevention valve with a one-way drainage valve. Since that work was done, no more issue, and the cost was far better than having to install yet another sump pump.

Very pleased with the "outside the box" thinking and we have been dry ever since.

Highly recommended.

Approximate cost of services:
$500.00
