Left a huge mess

I hired Waterworks for a burst pipe to my outside tap based upon great Homestars reviews. They were quick to respond, on-time and thorough on communicating repairs as the project progressed. Where I was left utterly disappointed was in the cost and damage/huge mess left behind. For less than 8 hours of labour, a shut off valve, a faucet and a small run of copper was twice what I thought the worse case scenario would be. BUYER BE WARNED - they have an a la carte price guide which charges small amounts to do each little element of a project. So for my one pipe repair, the plumber charged me for 5 separate items. Further, I had to spend hours and $$$ repairing the butchered ceiling and removing & re-caulking the tub. It would have cost me hundreds of dollars to hire someone to repair all the damage. Steer clear!

Company Response

Dear Mr Dennis Smiljanic,
I myself was present on that job and it was quite a challenging repipe due to SHODDY and poorly located pipe work.
We did show you 3 locations of previously duct taped drain of previous repairs for leaks, and a drywall screw in your drain pipe and poorly located etc). It seems you were deviously cheated by your last contractor and your maybe venting on us.? You are correct in there was quite a mess involved because of the poorly located pipe work that was repaired above a beautifully finished basement bathroom. We had no choice in how we cut the drywall and our ladder would not fit near your tub. If you truly felt we were "devious" and "unprepared" etc, which I know we not, you could have easily declined the job at any given moment and would have no hard feelings. What strikes me odd is you were called by Natasha during and after the job,and you stated that you were happy with the progression and completion. Also she mentioned that if there were any questions or concerns that you were welcome to call us anytime and they would be addressed.
Best,
Michael Yuffa

Overpriced and Sloppy Work

I hired Waterworks for a burst pipe to my outside tap based upon great Homestars reviews. They were quick to respond, on-time and thorough on communicating repairs as the project progressed. Where I was left utterly disappointed was in the cost - less than 8 hours of labour, a shut off valve, a faucet and a small run of copper was twice what I thought the worse case scenario would be. BUYER BE WARNED - they have an a la carte price guide which charges small amounts to do each little element of a project. So for my one pipe repair, the plumber charged me for 5 items - devious! To make matters worse, after inspecting the work for the week and repairing the damaged drywall, I felt the work was sub-par. The drywall cutting was very sloppy (took me a few hours of tedious repair work, my borrowed stool was filthy, and my soaker tub was shifted with caulking seal broken).

Pros
-quick service & on-time arrival
-thorough customer service before & after the job

Cons
- Incredibly overpriced
- messy work (drywall damage was worse than it should have been)
- moved my tub and broke the caulk seal without repairing
- plumber was not properly prepared (did not have the right ladder, no tarps to cover my tub, did not have the right drill bit)

June 4th Update:
Following my initial unedited review (see above), Michael from Waterworks followed-up directly - they take customer satisfaction seriously. He repaired the tub issue and refunded a portion of the initial cost within 24 hours. I have amended my initial review based upon this sincere effort to ensure I felt satisfied with Waterworks' service. I cannot give a 10/10 based upon the pricing structure (tip: get a clear understanding of what the "worse case scenario" of the job might cost prior to proceeding with the work) but the customer service and quality was there.
Thanks Michael!
