fascia repair and vent removal.

Never had a need for a roof repair to be done. May need to lower my expectations overall.
Fascia needed a quick repair after a wind storm. All other companies were booked and could not repair the fascia for at least a month. (it was hanging on by a few nails flapping in the wind - not safe) After consulting with several contractors, the min. cost is $400 ++ across the board. Unreal. I selected Mr. Roof Repair given the reviews and the assurance that the services offered would be done professionally and on time. Indicated a week from when I booked. They were the only ones who could come in a reasonable time line. Their $400 covers an hour of service and assessment of your homes' roof structure. I requested the fascia to be repaired/replaced if needed and a vent to be removed and covered up with shingles. Also, to remove two satellite dishes from the roof. Fixed the fascia- did not need to replace and appears to have been hammered back on. Satellites were removed.
The vent was sealed by removing the cap and applying a plate cover of some sort coupled with an excessive amount of caulking to the opening. Ensures no water getting in. They did do more caulking on the roof - why waste a tube? Helped coincide with their assessment of my roof. The assessment provides general guidelines, some sort of rating system out of 20 over several categories- very little context on how the number is actually derived and an assortment of photos of both the work done and where they may be a need for a repair where the roof system may be compromised. Nice touch in providing photos mind you!! Provided me with a quote for the work they believed needed to be done - with an offer to apply $200 of what I spent already to the work. Billed after emailing me that the work was done. I have to assume for $400, they are offering more than other companies.

Approximate cost of services:
$440.00

The vent was an embarrassment and was sealed by removing the cap and applying a plate cover of some sort and an excessive amount of caulking to the opening. Nothing else. Ensures no water getting in. They did do more caulking on the roof - why waste a tube? Helped coincide with their assessment of my roof and kill the hour I suppose. More context, greater value and less of an over zealous approach to the use of caulking would have made this a better experience, but at least the work was done. Billed after emailing me that the work was done. The vent 'repair' and the assessment was what altered my opinion. I have to assume for $400, they are offering more than other companies are... I guess?
