There are a lot of technicians in the city that have certifications, etc., however, how many technicians do you know out there that are actually mechanical/electrical engineers from a well known university? Atiar is one! Story of an immigrant - an engineer forced to do appliance repair work, however, it bodes well for customers to have an engineer diagnosing what is wrong with their appliances with a strong fundamental understanding of mechanical/electrical work. Our fix was simple, we needed a new drain pump, but he was thorough in his work and we are happy to report that the washing machine is working as good as new. I was happy to see him enjoy his work and enjoyed hearing him say that he likes complicated - challenging problems so he can practice some engineering skills. I hope him all the success in his business and highly recommend him! Price was very reasonable as well.

Atiar quickly responded to my call for help with a KitchenAid fridge that was not cooling.

He was clearly knowledgeable, responsive and professional. He diagnosed the problem as a timer/compressor issue. He warned us that as the appliance was more than 10 years old his repair was likely to fail.

It did fail within 48 hours but he came out to inspect the unit. He confirmed his assessment. He refunded our payment.

My tenants told me that the coin machine was not working in the laundry room at one rental property. Atiar from High Tech Appliance Service was one of the few techs to return my call quickly as it was a couple days before Christmas, and the only one that sounded experienced fixing coin-op machines. He arrived on time, found the problem and fixed it fast, suggested how to prevent happening again (tampering with machine). The price was fair and he was polite and pleasant. Atiar was professional, prompt, knowledgeable and did an excellent job on the install. He was easy to reach by phone prior to the work being done, arrived on time and finished in the amount of time he quoted us. He's also a very nice and honest guy. I noticed that my GE front load was leaving puddles in my laundry room after various washes over the past few weeks culminating with a complete shut down of the washer itself (stopped working completely). This led me to give High Tech Applicance Service a call based on the overall positive reviews found here on Homestars plus some of the prior reviews indicated that same day service was available. I called at 10am on Fri Dec 28 and Atiar was at my house by 4pm same day. He diagnosed that the door gasket was ripped (I never even noticed) plus the lock mechanism on the door was malfunctioning (I did notice this as it didn't sound like it was locking/latching properly to allow the wash cycle to start). Atiar's diagnosis took roughly 20 mins and he advised that he would have to check the parts supplier for parts plus costs of. He advised that he would find out first thing Saturday morning and give me a call to confirm whether I wanted to proceed or not. I had commited that I would go with him regardless as he was genuine and professional both when I spoke to him initially on the phone and when I met him in person. Sure enough, Atiar called me at 9:30am Sat to confirm the availability and costs for a new door gasket and door lock mechanism and said he would be at my house by 10:30am. Total repair time to replace both gasket and lock was just over an hour. He took his time to explain and to show me exactly how to do the repair in case I ever needed to do it myself down the road. After the repair he took the time to run the machine to ensure his workmanship resolved the initial problems based on his diagnosis. Work is warranted for 30 days. As i mentioned, Atiar was professional throughout and genuinely appears to be a very honest and nice gentleman. I would not hesitate to recommend his work to others. Very satisfied on overall timeliness, commitment, and quality of work. My repair costs may seem higher compared to other reviews but I had to pay for two parts plus labour. I have validated that the costs are very fair. More importantly, the customer service was impeccable. Thank you again, Atiar!

Atiar arrived on time (boxing weekend) and was very professional. He removed the old dishwasher, installed the new machine and also offered to help my husband move the old machine to the garage. He also guaranteed his work and asked us to call anytime should we have any concerns with the new install.
I will gladly recommend High Tech to my family and friends!

I called Hightech Appliance to see if they could help repair our fridge which just stopped working. The freezer was cooling but the fridge was hot. After reading reviews I called Atiar and he said he could come by the same day to have a look and diagnose the problem. Sure enough he came when he said he would and after taking my freezer apart he determined that the motor for the fan was broken. He didn't have the part with him but assured me he would come back the next day between 2-4 to replace it. I was worried he wouldn't show up but he arrived right at 2 the next day with a new motor and installed it. He was extremely careful not to damage anything and cleaned up any mess. My fridge is working great again just in time for the holidays. Atiar was even able to fix a burner on my oven while he was here and didn't ask for any more money. I would use Atiar and Hightech Appliance Service again without any hesitation.

My washing machine stopped working and I was about to call the manufacturer to come and repair it when my daughter recommended that I call Atiar. I am so happy that I did. He was prompt, tidy and efficient. Took no time to diagnose and resolve the issue. I will recommend High Tech Appliance to all of my friends.

Atiar answered the phone the first time I called him. He came when he said he was going to. He solved the problem quickly and was very polite and respectful. Atiar is a God-send. My stove was making this horrible rattling sound, like a jet engine, clinking and rattling. I am hosting a dinner party in a few days and could not deal with this noise. I turned to HomeStars, and, contacted 3 of the top rated people. One kept telling me he would come, and, never showed up. A second more expensive company (based on the cost of other reviews) never bothered to reply. Within minutes of calling Atiar, he set up a time to visit, the same day. Imagine that, someone who actually gives you a time and sticks to it. Atiar was punctual. After working on my stove for a while, trying to troubleshoot, he realized he would have to take it all apart and work on the fan itself. Given that he had already spent a lot of time there, and, have other appointments for the day, he said he could come back the following day to finish the job, at the end of the day, so that he could take as long as needed to ensure it was fixed before my dinner party. He showed up today, and, viola, the stove is fixed and operating as quiet as a mouse. 2 house calls, a few hours of work, and, he did not charge me a penny more than he originally quoted. You do not find people as honest as this anymore. I had to register an account and leave this review. As a small business person myself, I appreciate honest people that work for a good price. I would wholeheartedly recommend Atiar, and, will be using him for all my repair needs in future (which hopefully there will not be many, but, given the way appliances are built today, I am sure there will be more).
