Ideal Stairs - stair recapping, stair refinishing and stair renovation in GTA

We had the carpet on our staircase and flooring replaced with hardwood and we are delighted with the end result.Mesh & Rajan explained the process and product qualities to us and made daily visits to check the progress and answer any questions we had.The workmanship was excellent and the workers were mannerly, punctual and cleaned up any mess at the end of the day.We believe we received a quality product & service at a fair price.We would highly recommend Ideal Stairs.

My experience with Ideal Stairs was seamless; they were attentive to the project and provided excellent support throughout the installation. Rajan and Mesh was very accommodating to our needs and worked with us to make sure that we were happy from beginning to end. They take pride in the work they produce and prices are reasonable. We had our circular staircase finished by another company who made an absolute mess of the stairs, spindles and railing. We contacted Ideal Stairs and Mesh attended our home as promised. Mesh was absolutely fair and sympathetic with his pricing of the job to correct someone else’s mess. Mesh and his crew started the job as promised and completed the job earlier than estimated. The crew worked hard while showing respect and dignity to us and our home. The job site was always left clean upon completion of each day’s work. We very much appreciate the help that Ideal Stairs provided and we adore the job that was done. This company is straight up with no gimmicks, they know their business. We would highly recommend their services.

I can't say enough about Mesh and his team. As evident from other reviews, from the initial contact to the final inspection, Mesh kept me fully informed of progress throughout. His team worked diligently to complete the job and we are very pleased with the results. When he was concerned that refinishing the existing newel posts and spindles would not look good with the rest of the job, he even offered to absorb the cost of the new newel posts and spindles. How many contractors would do that. If you need a stair renovation or hardwood installed, run don't walk to Ideal Stairs and hope that they service your area. You will not be disappointed.

Mesh and his team did excellent work for a fair price. They put down about 1000 square feet of solid hardwood and built brand new stairs (basement and upper) and bannisters. Very high quality of materials and craftsmanship. It shows that they take pride in their work. This job was part of a major reno, we had issues with our other jobs and contractors but in the face of problems, Ideal Stairs provided me with solutions at every turn: they were patient, flexible and got the job done well in a timely fashion. Excellent level of customer service. After we paid in full and the other renos were complete, Ideal Stairs came back to do finishing touch ups. These too were done in a timely way and the work was again very high quality. We had large holes in the floor from radiators that were moved, and asked them to do a quick fix. Instead, they replaced the whole wood panel for a clean and professional finish. Mesh and his crew were a real pleasure to work with. We love our new floors and stairs.

We just had Mesh and his 2 guys in to refinish our golden oak 2 story curved staircase (circa 1992). They did a really nice job, The white risers and dark stained treads turned out really well. They were done in a week - they taped off the area (it STILL gets dusty) but the guys were very hard workers and finished in 6 days. Great job, would highly recommend.

Ideal Stairs refinished our outdated carpeted oak staircase beautifully and installed hardwood on the entire 2nd floor. Raj and his team were professional and friendly, They were always on time, worked diligently on the job, and took pride in their work. Ideal Stairs just completed the conversion of our carpeted stairs to solid oak from the basement to the second floor including landings and the master bedroom. They also installed laminate in our family room. We were extremely happy with all aspects of their service.

We hired Ideal Stairs after finding them on Home Star. We read some of the reviews and thought we would give them a call. Mesh was great to deal with. He came to see us the next day. We appreciated this as it showed his interest in having our business. Before coming to our house, he phoned and asked some questions about what we were looking for. The job consisted of removing the carpet off our stairs, sanding and staining, replacing the risers, changing the posts and spindles. We were impressed when he showed up prepared with examples of spindles and wood colour as well as the many pictures to show us on his iPad. We received a quote from him pretty quickly as well. We did take some time to think through what we wanted to do and Mesh was patient answering questions we had for him quickly and following up with us by phone. Once we made our decision, Mesh was also able to accommodate the start date we requested. The crew he sent in were excellent. They were polite, courteous and accommodating. They knew our concern about keeping the hardwood floors clean and each day they lined everything with heavy cardboard and cloth. We were also concerned about not having a railing at night for my daughter and dogs. Each night before they left, they made a makeshift railing out of spindles and plastic wrap. It was very impressive and gratefully appreciated. Also, each night, they cleaned up as much as they could minimizing the dust and making it easy for us to get around the work. Their workmanship was top notch. The stairs were beautifully sanded and stained, the trim painted very nicely and the spindles installed with great care. We cannot find any fault in the workmanship. The job was done within one week as promised. We highly recommend Ideal Stairs for their workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism. Great company. Thanks Mesh.

Ideal Stairs were an excellent company to install capping of two circular stairs in Burlington. For many years, we had stairs covered with carpet. We removed the carpet. Ideal Stairs installed red oak treads and risers and matched the staining to the handrails. We are most happy with the new stairs, and the stairs are not slippy. The work was done within five days, and it was good to have it done in such a short time for the inconvenience of construction. Well done!
