I have been using Appleseed for the past several years and have been most satisfied with the service such that when I receive the renewal contract each fall, I return mine with the two cheques within a week (if not sooner), sometimes hand-delivering them to the office so I can guarantee that 'I will be on the list” just in case there could be a capacity issue. Snow removal is essentially a 'specialized system' and Ken and his staff have made a real effort to optimize theirs, given the uncertainties that exist with Mother Nature and city street plowing operations.
I especially appreciate Ken's e-mail updates, both for the information provided and for the humour in a season that inherently does have much . The GPS Tractor notifications are also most useful for optimum vehicle placement if we are at home. I am impressed with the amount of time between the windrow deposit from the city street plow and the arrival of the Appleseed tractor to remove it. On the very few occasions that I have had to contact the office, in person or by phone, I was treated most kindly and professionally by the staff.
Over the years, we have recommended Appleseed to a number of neighbours who have become repeat clients like we are and we all feel that we receive good value for the cost of the contract. Others in my neighbourhood (Copeland Park, east of Maitland) must feel the same way as a large majority have the Appleseed markers at the end of their driveways.
