Penguin Basements

We have our basement completed by Penguin and it looks great. Dave, being our initial sales POC, put together a great yet functional design. Juliano, who was our PM during actual renovation, was responsive and did all he can to fit our needs. Will definitely recommend to friends and families.

Penguin basement is one of the rare company in Toronto that have a basement showcase. In fact, this was how I found them out while I was thinking about finishing my basement. The whole process was good and friendly, they shared the progress with you frequently and I was well-informed. One minor comment is that after the initial setup of the project planning in the tool it would be nice if it can update more frequently if there is any delay. However, it is still a step up from others vendor that my friends used before.

They also assigned a designer with you to plan your basement. This is really useful for us before it helped us to make a difficult decision where we struggled with to make the basement look spacious.

The price is a bit higher than the average but you get what you paid for.

The follow up process is also a nice touch. A good thing about that is you can even report to them any defect after the project is completed and they will honor the service call to address the defect.

We hired Penguin to finish our basement and they not only built it, they helped with the design and ideas.
The job finished within schedule, even with supplier issues and there wasn’t any additional surprise cost.
The quality of the work and material was beyond our expectations.

In combination with Roberto, they were both there to the very end of the build ensuring that every loose end was tied up and that we were left completely happy with the workmanship and completion of our basement.Outside of their professionalism, the staff at Penguin Basements actually took the time to build a good rapport with us. Friendly conversations that didn't even involve the project were much appreciated. This gave us an added sense of comfort in knowing that we weren't just another job to make a quick buck. They actually took the time to get to know us and our own personalities.We also appreciate the trades people that spent their time working on our basement. Every single one of them was very friendly, polite and professional with a great sense of humour!Overall, we are proud to say that our basement was built by Penguin Basements!

If you want your basement renovation to upgrade your whole house get Penguin to do the project! The end result exceeded our expectations! We modified our original plan based on their recommendations and it proved to be the best use of our space. Their experience in being focused on basement renovations really made the difference.

We are very happy with our basement. The final product is great. Penguin use quality materials and focus on making sure their quality of workmanship is strong.

We decided to finish the basement and after doing some research, especially regarding the mold-free materials, we decided to sign the contract with Penguin Basement. The quote was a little higher than the other contractors, however I think the quality of the materials are better as well.
We had few issues during the process, but the Project Manager assigned (Andrew) was there to manage and get everything under control, he was great!!!
Andrew was at my place every day, explaining the steps of the project and what was expected to be done in the following days. Also, he was always available on the cell if I had a question or concern, what was very important for me.
We are very happy with our new basement and I would like to thank Andrew and everyone at Penguin...

Finish my basement with a large gas fireplace. I love the new gas fireplace, it has stone from the top to bottom.
The workers and contractors were nice and did a great job. They created a workshop, two storage rooms, a bedroom and cozy den within my basement.

The communication between Project manager and us was very great. We could not have asked for more from a Renovation Company. Form our consultant to working crew, they ware very knowledgeable. They knew exactly what we want and met of all of our requirements. The installers were professional and efficient.
