Tri City Fencing

Kevin is totally unprofessional and he has no work ethics. We paid deposit of $500 before 3 months and he did not finish his work. He never came for fencing and just extended the work. I wasted my time for this company and especially Kevin. He revised the date without our consent. Be careful before you sign any contract with the Tri-City Fencing. I don't recommend to any one.

We are group of 10 houses in Breslau decided to go for fencing, so we can enjoy summer with kids and all family. We have searched online and found KEVIN OWNER OF TRI-CITY FENCING
We signed contract and give $500 deposit, the project has to start on FIRST WEEK OF JUNE.
We have try to contact him in end of MAY and ask him about the project , HE SAID I HAVE LABOUR SHORTAGE AND MACHINARY PROBLEMS , I HAVE TO DELAY PROJECT TO MIDDLE OF JUNE.
We all believe him as we know through pandemic time every business got problems, we all thought lets wait until June. We have tried to call him in first week June he did not reply, we kept trying to reach him, after June 24th he replied, I'M DOWN 2 GUYS TRY AND CATCH UP I NEED ANOTHER WEEK POSSIBLY.
July month was the month where he accept that he can not do the job and he has to cancel the project accepted this thing in his own email. So we have told him to return deposit asap, so we can hire another contractor. After a week or more he replied again that he doesn't want to loose the contract and want to work on our fence project and he will start fence on August 1st and finish on August 15.
As again all neighbors say if he is really sure about that lets give him last chance to finish the project by August 15, because even if we hire someone else still he is not gonna do the job in 2 days.
July last week, we trying to call him and sending SMS , he did not reply. He started avoiding our phone call and SMS.
First day of August we have start sending him SMS regarding work that he has to do in August , he replied and said I am still running late and can start the job in end of September or end of summer which is I think September 21st.
Now we have started asking to return our deposit, no body has that patience to wait so long and get another dates. Who wants fence in September, look like he was thinking we want to enjoy or privacy in winter.
As soon as we start asking for deposit he got irritated as he doesn't want to return it, he start blaming us that we have cancel the project and he has to spent five figure for wood material for our fencing project which is never been on firm dates since June first week.
We have asked him in civil matter to return our full deposit otherwise we have to go through lawyer. So he sent us SMS that he will return money by August 5th but not full. As he said we have cancelled the project (which is not true), he is not liable to pay full and he is not ready to take full loss.
After a long and worst experience we have hired lawyer and send a letter to him stating return our full deposit otherwise we will go for court.
On August 4th, he replied and accepted that he will return our full deposit by August 5. He never did that. We are going through lawyer now.
HOPE EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND AND WILL NOT HIRE HIM FOR ANY TYPE OF WORK...

Do your research on this company 1st!
My drama filled experience with Kevin from Tri-city fencing was unbelievable for a local business we were trying to support.
A group of homes placed a deposit back in April for work to begin in June, Kevin mentioned he was having labour issues- no problem from the group.
July 1st- he cancelled the project, we asked for refunds- no answer, few days go by and he then request to due the work mid Aug, at this point we have lost any window with any other contractor and we agree. End of July comes and Kevin says he can do it in September, we have had enough, if it was labour issues, not sure how he has been installing fences all summer at this point- we request our deposits and want to move on, he refuses all deposits or to only return a small portion- we all disagree. Kevin spent multiple days bantering a couple of us with emails about taking our homes, charging us etc etc if we post a negative review- well here is the negative review, this is based solely on experience and not vengeance. There are many reviews on his behaviour from others if you look at other sites, all very similar to our experience. We have yet to receive our deposits back.

Initially, the owner of Tri-City Fencing Kevin was very friendly when taking our deposit. As time went on, I learned that he is actually impossible to get a hold of or get an answer out of regardless of the method in which you try to contact him. We were finally able to get a hold of him using a friends phone number, which lead us to believe he was flat out ignoring us after taking our deposit and constantly pushing back the start date of our project. The way he spoke to my spouse on the phone was absolutely shocking and so unprofessional. I read other low rated reviews on this website and they are roughly the same experience as me. Please save yourself sleepless nights full of stress.

Where do I even start with this? A group of 11 homes in Breslau wanted our yard fences all done together and by one contractor. We chose Tri-City Fencing.

We paid a $500 deposit each for work that was never rendered and they refuse to return the deposit.

Work was supposed to start first week of June. We never received notice it would be delayed and when some members contacted Kevin for an update he got annoyed and belligerent.

He said the work would start in July. July comes and nothing. After more dramatic back and forth he says August. Then 'maybe' Sept.

We didn't agree to any further extensions. At this point we collectively requested our money back. Problem is Kevin doesn't understand contract law. Or frankly any law.

He threatened putting liens on our homes if we put bad reviews online. Threatened to sue us and said he wouldn't return the deposits.

So I strongly recommend if you're reading this avoid drama and lawsuits and stay away from Tri-City.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with Kevin and Tri-city Fencing and I do not recommend them.

While Kevin (the owner) was prompt and friendly with his customer service leading up to securing the quote in 2021, he became difficult and unprofessional to deal with when it came time to actually do the work.

When Kevin and his crew member came to install our fence posts, I asked him to install one of the posts on my neighbours side of the property line. My neighbour and I agreed on this location before the work started because he wants to build a fence in line with this post. I told Kevin this before he began installing posts. My neighbour and I even set up a string line so itd be easy for Kevin to know exactly on what side to put the post.

Instead, Kevin put the post right on the property line which was not what I asked. When I asked him to fix it and move it to the other side of the property line, he refused. I tried to explain to him that the reason the location needed to be so specific was because my interlocking would be running right next to the post so the correct placement mattered.

I tried to call Kevin to resolve the situation, but he wouldn't answer my calls. He would only text me and gave me every excuse possible to not move the post over instead of just owning up to the fact he made an error and needed to fix it. He even accused me of trying to take property from my neighbour, which is 1) untrue and 2) extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour.

I tried to be respectful and courteous, but in the end, Kevin refused to move the post and told me to find another contractor. He said he didnt want to drive to my area just to move a post a few inches, even though I gave him clear instructions on where it should have been placed in the first place (also, why did you take the job if you thought it was too far of a drive?). What's even more frustrating is that the post hadn't even been set in concrete yet, so it would have been easy to move. While I had already paid a deposit, I even asked him what the cost of labour and materials were to ensure the worked was covered. He didn't reply.

I have three other contractors doing work on my landscaping project and I havent had any issues with them. Kevin on the other hand was disrespectful, a poor communicator, and totally unprofessional. He seems to be the type of contractor where its his way or the highway. And if the jobs off by few inches, that seems to be an acceptable standard for him. Attention to detail is clearly not a priority for Tri-city fencing.

We went with tri city because of all there 5 star ratings as one of Guelph’s best fencing contractors. I cannot express how wrong we were. The owner was pleasant enough during the quoting process. Although made several joke like comments that I should have taken as a sign for concern. It wasn’t until we expressed our concerns about code and the quality of workmanship he became VERY belligerent and impossible to have an adult conversation with. Extremely poor customer service. Ultimately we have had to find another contractor to fix/finish the work that was not done.

We needed something in the backyard, because it was a mudpit. We wanted something to be able to sit outside, and entertain when guests come over. TriCity fencing gave us our new patio. They were clean and quick. Left no mess, and we had a brand new patio in 2 days flat!
