North Shield Windows And Doors

In 2008/09 we had all new windows installed by North Shield. The quality of the windows were good, the installation was excellent. The salesman, Alex Vrublevsky was very knowledgeable and kept in excellent contact with us. In 2014 the E-Coating in some of the windows become defective, they developed foggy & streaked patches inside the sealed glass. We called Alex hoping for the best, expecting disappointment but he came right away and said the windows were under warranty and would be replaced no problem. Alex said the replacement windows should be done by mid August 2014.

Update Sept. 12, as promised Alex and his crew delivered. The defective windows have been replaced and look great. We were so pleased we ordered a new sliding glass patio door from North Shield as well this past summer.

Before buying windows from Northshield I have looked at 5 companies from GTA. The reason why I chose Northshield how informative the salesman was and that he did not put any pressure on me. He went over the styles of the windows that he thought would fit my house and meet my needs. I am so happy I took the time to listen to his suggestions and recommendations . I could not be happier with Northshield.
The windows are high quality and installation process was smooth and painless and within the time frame that was promised by the company. I would recommend them to anyone to anyone that is thinking about window replacement.

I chose NorthShield to replace my windows and honestly, I couldn't be happier. NorthShield was one of the three estimates I received and their product along with the staff left me with a pleasant experience. Installation was done on time as scheduled, the work site was cleaned up and there were no hidden fees commonly seen when doing house renovation. From the initial sales appointment, to measurements and product installation the staff was professional and courteous. Providing answers to any questions and concerns I had and respecting the cleanliness in the house. NorthShield has rich product selection and I was able to select the windows that fit my style and budget while not compromising quality. It’s been 6 months since the installation was done and I haven’t had a single problem. Would definitely recommend to family, friends and even strangers!

It took me posting 3 complaints on 3 different websites to get this company to contact my mom and fix a warrantee issue. Also she had to drive to the factory to get a part.

Well I would like to first start off that the windows made very well! However the installation was done very poorly on a cosmetic standpoint. The installers refused to caulk all 4 sides on the inside of the home. As well it left huge holes in my dry wall at the bottom of each window and the frame did not cover it. However i would like to say that they did warn me that the new frames will be smaller therefore I will have to do some small painting at the bottom of the frames. However when I went to paint i noticed holes between the frame and the drywall. I have spent my entire weekend puttying and painting. I will not recommend them.

I had to change my sliding door and a few large windows on the first floor and got Nothershield's information from a friend. I was extremely pleased with the quality of work completed and actual look of the windows and door. The price was reasonable and installation crew so helpful! I had a few follow up questions a week later and the service manager came over to look at my concerns and clarified everything. I rarely see this type of service nowadays and would definitely recommend this home improvement company to others.

I found this company to be very professional, very friendly , competent, reasonably priced, honest, and the work well done. I actually had this company provide new windows to my rental property and was very impressed by their honesty about what type of windows I should use. They suggested the cheaper windows since it was a rental property I however went with the more expensive windows but I was glad they were not trying to upsell me. they put in these windows in 2013 and I am using them again in 2014 for my other rental property.

I hired NorthShield to replace old windows in a house that I bought when I moved to Winnipeg. There was a house down the street that they had worked on and I liked what I saw so I gave them a call. They gave me a fair estimate and that actually ended up being the price I paid (lots of companies charge extra after they are done the job, like "hidden fees"). They were professional and clean and the windows are good quality; 4 months and they are perfect, not letting any drafts in at all.

I've known the wonderful family behind Northshield Windows and Doors for many years now. We replaced all windows in our house - brick to brick. Everything was done on time - clean, solid work. Everything was done as promised, area cleaned up well after they were finished. All windows ordered as discussed. All estimates were done in writing - a solid and respected business. Next project- our doors - I am calling Northshield!

When windows were being installed, one of the old windows shattered. A lot of debris was scattered throughout our dining room and exterior of the house that was not cleaned up. After installation, we noticed that an antique painting in our dining room had been damaged by a screw that ripped through the canvass. When we contacted the company their response was that they could not see how this could have happened and it was not their fault. We requested that they come and look at the painting and damage. When they did, they insinuated that we had caused the damage. The company refuses to return emails and phone calls and accept responsibility for the damage. They also refuse to provide a receipt of payment in full despite repeated requests and the fact that our cheque was cashed over 3 weeks ago.
