From our initial consultation with Vincent, we felt comfortable with his expertise, honesty, patience and quotation. Max, being a professional cabinet maker, surely lived up to his reputation. Ryan did an amazing job installing a massive slab of granite (without a seam) on our island. The kitchen reno was everything we had expected, and we are thrilled with the superb job. I would recommend this awesome team to anyone.

As a Realtor, I referred one of my clients to Vince and Max and their team. They wanted to refinish and spray their cabinets, railings, and all baseboards and trim to white. From the beginning, working with Vince was very easy he was prompt to respond and provide a quote. Max and his team came on site and completed the job within time and within budget. The job we had was a huge undertaking, and we are over the moon happy with the finished results!! We had dark cherry-stained oak cabinets throughout the house that had become very dated. We worked with Vincent to come up with ideas on how to modernize the look of our woodwork without breaking the bank. Max and Vincent exceeded our expectations! They did our kitchen cabinets, our fireplace surround/bookshelves, bathroom cabinetry and our built-in office. I was concerned about being able to see any of the deep oak grains through the paint, but the technique they used eliminated that concern almost immediately. We had some Doors with curved panels and they Recomended that we replace these with panels that look tomorrow modern and they ended up blending in perfectly with all of the other doors that we had. Everyone who sees our home now is so surprised that they are the same cabinets-just painted! I was also concerned that our home would not look as warm with white woodwork compared to a warmer colored wood, however not only is it warm but it feels more inviting and calming now. The workspace that all of the workers used was impeccable. They used a lot of protection for the floors, walls and ceilings and kept the entire house extremely clean during the entire time they were working on the project. They were very respectful of our home. The communication was clear and quick. Our project went a little overtime but this was just to make sure that the quality was at its best. Our final cost did not change from the quote, like it hard with many other contractors I have used. The best thing about Cheif is that they not only paint but are able to refinish and make adjustments and alterations to your cabinets as well. I would highly highly recommend Cheif to refinish and or paint any woodwork!

We recently contracted Chief Wood Finishing to manufacture and ship our new MDF shaker style cabinet doors and finish them in a glossy off white colour lacquer for our DIY kitchen project in our condo in Vancouver. They were highly recommended by friends in Calgary.

Their service was great from the initial contact with Vincent to the technical service follow up call and emails from Max. The process was very smooth and they delivered a very high quality product.

The colour was matched perfectly, the finish was near flawless and every door fit our old kitchen frame perfectly. Max' precise directions allowed us to retrofit new soft close hinges and put the kitchen back together with success. I did have to call them again to get help on adjusting the hinges and straighten the doors and Max patiently guided me through the process again.

I will use them again on our next project and highly recommend this company for their professionalism, quality, delivery time and cost.

Chief Wood Finishing did an awesome job transforming our traditional cherry kitchen into a modern/transitional space. We love it!

From the quotation out, Vince was awesome in explaining the options, costs and process. He said our wood was in good enough condition for refinish, but warned us in advance that solid wood would expand/contract and would be more prone over time see cracks in refinished wood ... best longer term option would be to reface all to avoid this - he quoted both options. We were not ready to reface it all but we went in knowing the options and ultimately decided with the refinishing existing.

We did get a few other quotes for refinishing our cabinets but they did not get our pick; We picked Chief wood as they are not only specialists in painting/refinishing but also staff in-house wood/cabinetry resources. They also Any issues arise, we felt this team was best fit to address it - and we were 100% right! They rebuilt our drawer boxes at a great price and installed bottom mount slow closing rails giving better action and durability (retro-fit is more difficult align, less durable over time). We are happy with their suggestion and how they turned out. They were also able to swap out a few gables that were damaged and replace a drawer front and match to existing with ease. The were very reasonable in price for additional scope!

The team was efficient - Big thank you to Max, Karl, Michel, as well the taping / prep crew. They worked really hard and were respectful. They did get a bit busy with another job at the end and were a bit scarce at that time but most of the work was done...In that case, Vince took personal time out of his evenings showing up/working to ensure we were 110% happy with the end result. Throughout the project, communication was great, texting and getting feedback directly while I was at work - awesome.

We feel safe that if we are to have any quality issues Chief will stand by their work. And if we ever see any of the natural cracking occurring due to the solid wood / lacquer - we will not hesitate to have Chief fabricate and paint a new drawer face or door for us!

Vincient and Max and their crew were able to start very quickly. They came in and refinished all the our cabinets in our kitchen and bathrooms and mud room. The results are amazing. The kitchen looks so much brighter and more modern. Vince was very professional and respectful. His team worked around our schedule and budget, and turned this project around very quickly, and with minimal disruption to our day to day. Thank you for your great work!

I hired Chief Wood Finishing to refinish and reface all the cabinets and the stair railing system in our home back in April 2019.

The process was made very easy from the first sales meeting with Vincent to the completion of the work by their very competent and reliable staff.

The quality of the lacquer finishing is far superior to what we had on our existing surfaces and a definite step up from what we had observed at competing businesses.

They were excellent at customizing and fabricating all the new components necessary to the refacing portion of the work and Karl did an amazing job with the crown molding.

There was a slight delay of 1 day for the cabinet doors installation but they made up for it with exceptional quality workmanship.

Special thanks to Max and Kelly for their contribution and execution on site.

It has been over 3 months and the finish is still as smooth and beautiful as they left it

Chief Woodfinishing refaced our entire kitchen. Vince answered our endless questions and Max and Karl and Chico and all the guys did a brilliant job on our cabinets. They are not a big box store and every kitchen is personalized so you need patience for them to get to you but it was well worth the wait.
