We got a basement rental and the last tenant left because of noise complaints. Especially footsteps and children screaming. So we decided to do the soundproofing in order to keep the next tenant for a bit longer this time. My neighbor shared a phone number of a drywall contractor that he used but was not too pleased with the result, especially for what he paid.
They removed the drywall and used spray foam insulation as a soundproof material then re-drywalled. So I decided to shop around to find out why it didn't work. Some companies couldn't answer this question very well. Some others just wanted to charge me a fortune to do it properly.
Then I called warm cozy cozy. Pascal answered all the questions that I had. He told me that I needed at least an STC of 50 to have good results, and that spray foam with drywall only had about 25. He then advised me to go with the Dense pack and test it out for a week to see how I like it. If needed we could add other things afterwards.
It's been a week now. I wont need anything else. Speech is inaudible, footsteps are like 50% gone. The work was fast and effective. Im happy
