Paul and Matt showed up on time and were at my house for over 2 hours cleaning ducts that were not cleaned by the previous company I hired. They came in and checked out where all the vents were and the location of the furnace before bringing in any equipment. He then laid out drop clothes throughout the house so they could hook up the vacuums. They did not take any shortcuts and thoroughly cleaned the three trunks of my system. Paul showed me evidence of where the previous guys failed to do their job and even found a loonie somewhere and gave it to me. Now all I need to get back is the other $999 the other guys scammed us for. To sum it up...my faith has been restored in duct cleaning thanks to Paul and Matt. Good guys that I wouldn't mind sitting down and having a beer with.

Call these guys first. Even if you don't use them they will give you sound advice.

Hey Wade, thanks for taking the time to write about your experience with us. Your experience with the other company just goes to show why people shouldn't believe these $99 advertisements. These companies that scam homeowners really need to be punished, so hopefully you are successful in your legal proceedings. On the other hand, I am glad that we were able to get the job properly done for you, and glad that you were able to see first hand how the job was done, why it was needed, and pleased that you were happy with our results. People that read this review, be forewarned that you should do research before hiring just anyone to come into your home. Keith the service guy told my wife that we had black mold and it would cost $1069 on top of our original cost but we could pay cash to avoid taxes. I know it should have been a red flag and I've avoided and exposed scams before but I was at work and and quite bust and distracted when my wife called and told me about the mold. We paid the money and when I got home and got the rest of the story from my wife I pieced it together and realized how badly we were taken. This Keith character told my wife how he had 2 sets of triplets, was a single dad and his wife was committed to an institution.....story after story to distract my wife. They never put any benefect in our system nor did the chemical come into our house, also I assumed if there was mold that they would have been there for several hours and I would have been home to see what they were doing. ....to top it all off I found out afterwards through investigating the vents that they never removed 3 of them nor one of the cold return vents. I know for a fact because 2 of them are glued to my ceiling in the basement and were not taken down. I called the service manager Jason at their support number (647 453 6500) and he has yet to speak with me. Conveniently he is on vacation until Feb 4th. I am not letting them get away with my money and for anyone that has been ripped off by these guys add me on Facebook - Wade Loder in Oakville. We can get together and if we can prove a pattern of illegal behaviour by comparing stories we can start a lawsuit against them. If you don't want to join me in doing this call the Ministry of Consumer Services @ 416-326-8600 (The more people that call the better.) and there are a number of private investigators if you feel it's worth going that far. These guys rely on people being embarrassed or ashamed of being scammed. I am not one of them. I made a big mistake trusting them and now I'm going after my money. I have also found out they run under many different company names and websites which homestars will not publish even though I have all the proof. Do a search for the phone numbers on the vacumax.ca website and you will see all the other sites that pop-up....mind blowing. Also, don't believe any of the addresses provided on their sites. I went to their Burlington location. Not only does the office not exist but the postal code for the Burlington location is in Barrie. I have attached a picture of the address from a receipt. If you think I'm making this up by all means contact me and I will walk you through everything I have found to date.

stay away. If you need someone always: Shop around, Ask for full names and identification, Get references that you can verify, get the details of everything they are going to do in your home and DO NOT let the person doing the work out of your site...ask questions as they work. If they are reputable they will happily answer..if they are not they will get grumpy and irritated very quickly. Second guess them ALL THE TIME! It's your house.
