I hired EcoComfort Insulation after researching the more labour-intensive option to replace the batting by hand. It was like a mountain range of pink batts in the attic which was honestly a bit terrifying. Patrick sent a crew with a truck which sucked the old, dusty, pink stuff out and blew in new R60+ cellulose. I am so happy I went with this installation method and it was well worth spending the extra money. They job was noisy but very quick and clean up was minimal. My upstairs square footage is 358 sq feet and the attic is smaller than that and the guys were done in less than a day. I had this job done in January the week before having my furnace replaced. On furnace day, it was blisteringly cold but I was toasty with just a space heater in the main bedroom. I am now almost too warm in the summer but the a/c has to work less hard which is great. I am a single, middle-aged woman and felt very comfortable with Patrick and this work crew and have already recommended Eco Comfort to my neighbours.

tl;dr I am a single, middle-aged woman living in a detached house and I would have no hesitation recommending Hargrave. In fact, I hired them twice. My furnace was chugging along noisily but I was paying way too much to heat the house to 18C (64F) the first winter I lived in my house. Then I broke my neck and replacing the furnace became a priority for safety and comfort. I was referred to Kevin by a friend who had done a similar upgrade. Hargrave (Marcus and Ryan) replaced my ancient furnace with a hybrid Carrier unit - smaller (60K BTU) furnace in the basement and large (2 ton) heat pump in the same spot as the a/c. Marcus and Ryan worked quickly despite not great weather conditions and needing to rebuild a smaller plenum unit. They were very respectful and left minimal clean up. My gas bill immediately dropped and my hydro bill increased slightly despite setting the main floor heating temperature to 21C (70F) and my broken neck really appreciated the extra warmth. I asked Kevin to come back and quote me on a smaller heat pump unit for the upstairs (south and west facing) main bedroom which gets unbearably hot on sunny days. The new hybrid system in the basement is pushing cold air to the rest of the house but the duct run to the main bedroom is too long and likely not insulated. Kevin quoted me on a 6,000BTU ductless high wall unit and sent (another) Kevin and Sam to install it in under a week. They were quick and there was almost no noise or clean up. Now that I have the smaller unit cooling the upstairs, I can set the main floor temperature two degrees higher which means the basement isn't a meatlocker. The entire house is much more comfortable and I don't think I have ever slept so well in my house in the past two years until Hargrave upgraded my HVAC system.

I contacted Toronto Best Fence in winter 2021 for a quote and hired them in late summer. Oleg and his crew replaced an ancient metal chain link fence with a wooden fence and gate along my south property line which I needed to stop my dog escaping into the street. The guys were polite, quick, and did high quality work and the fence and hardware have held up well through the winter. The cost was exactly as quoted. I had originally wanted a shorter fence but Oleg persuaded me to go higher for privacy and he was right. It was a pleasure to deal with Oleg and I felt very comfortable as a single woman having them working on my property. I will be contacting Oleg again when I am ready to build a deck at the back of the house.

I don't know why I didn't write this review at the time but I hired Metro to clean my wood burning fireplace and chimney last March. Mitchell was very careful and thorough. He put a tarp on the floor and when he was finished I could not tell he had been there. He also gave me some great guidance on using the fireplace as a first time user and made sure I knew how to open and close the flue. The fireplace has been working great over the holidays. I will not hesitate to call Mitchell again in the spring.

Andrey was very professional and I will have no problem hiring him to work on my home again in future. I hired him to replace one set of stairs after I fell down them and hurt my back. I am a single woman, living alone, and I felt very comfortable having him working while I was working from home and also by himself when I needed to go out. He worked very quickly and also with very good attention to detail. I live in an older home and the stairs were old pine and worn and narrow. He replaced the pine with beautiful red oak, using a single board for each tread so there are no visible cuts or joints. He also made them an inch deeper. Now they are safe and look wonderful. He cleaned up as he worked and I had minimal dust to clean up after he left. He was on budget and answered all of my questions clearly and transparently. I have already recommended him to a few friends.

Brandon came to my house to rekey the front and back doors. He rekeyed all four locks (two doors) and cut me 6 new keys. He arrived on time, was polite and very fast. Highly recommend.
