In an industry where there appear to be hundreds of companies to choose from, save yourself a lot of time and aggravation, and look no further than CityPro Aluminum & Contracting. After 3 years of trying to find someone come out to repair/reposition my poorly installed eavestrough (my bad for choosing an inferior company to install it in the first place), I was lucky enough to contact CityPro. This company exemplifies everything you want when dealing with a company…….friendly and professional, quality workmanship, quick response time, fair and competitive pricing, and plain old fashioned values, which seem to be difficult to find in this day and age. Starting with my first conversation with Dorian, it was a refreshing change to speak with someone who actually cared about my predicament and did not want to leaving me in a bind for yet another year. Dorian and his crew arrived as promised, analyzed the situation and provided me with my options. I knew that there was the possibility that I would have to partially replace the eavestrough, despite that it was only a few years old, but Dorian promised he would do his best to avoid this. He and his crew worked their magic, albeit with some challenges due to the poor workmanship of the initial installation by another company, and they were able to successfully reposition the eavestrough. It is now functioning as it should be. What a relief, and what a positive experience!! I have now added CityPro Aluminum to my contact list and will definitely be using them again. I will also be recommending them, without hesitation, to family and friends. A sincere score of 5 stars for this company.

Have you ever experienced that moment of panic when you discover a leaky pipe, soggy drywall, and water damage in your home. That was my recent experience. I discovered it in my basement on on a Sunday, which was clearly not the best day to require the services of a plumber. The issue was a leak on the connection to the water meter and main shut off valve. My search started as anticipated, with a few strikes out, but in the end, I was lucky enough to find Alex of Award Plus Plumbing. He was already on his way home from another service call, and he promptly turned around to come and help me out. I sent him some photos of the issue, and he was able to quote a price right away, which I thought was very fair and very competitive, especially given the circumstances. Upon meeting Alex, I found him to be friendly, professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He explained what was needed, and set out to do the repair. I was further impressed when he laid down a drop cloth to protect my floor and the surrounding area from dirt, debris and potential damage that might occur while doing the repair. He was even proactive in changing a gasket on the other side of the meter, anticipating that it could have the same problem. Moving forward, Alex will be my go to plumber for any future plumbing needs I may have. He was friendly, thorough, conscientious and fair, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends…..a definite 10/10!!!!

If you are looking to have some masonry work done and are scouring a list of companies, stop at “B” and contact Buildstrong Masonry. In this day and age when it seems the only thing left in customer service is the customer, this company is different. They have old fashioned values and exemplify everything you are looking for in a company…..quick response time, professional and friendly, very detailed in describing the scope of the work, are happy to answer questions, and are fair and competitive with their pricing. I originally found Buildstrong Maonry while searching the Better Business Bureau website (they have a BB Rating of A+ so already a point in their favour). I live in an older home and I was looking to have either tuckpointing or parging done on the stone foundation wall on the side of my house. I sent pictures via email to Rene and he replied promptly to discuss the work. He recommended against parging the wall so as to not cover up the beautiful stones, and instead recommended just replacing the mortar i.e. tuckpointing. I was so happy to hear that parging was not necessary as I have always wanted to keep the look of the home as close to original as possible. He also provided options on how I could enhance the look of the stone wall. Once the scope of the work was determined, I received a very detailed quote shortly thereafter. Everything was pretty much done via email which, given my baby boomer status, was a little unconventional for me, but definitely efficient and convenient. The work was completed by Mike, who was very professional, kind, thorough and efficient, and clearly enjoyed what he did and took pride in his work. The site was also left very clean after the work was completed. I would definitely use Buildstrong again and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
