I found Edward through Craigslist and emailed for an estimate to move my Queen bed, mattress and box spring from my condo in North Etobicoke to my new house near the Junction. I explained that there were stairs at the destination. I was hesitant because I'd never hired anyone this way before. Edward responded within the hour by email with 2 prices - one price if I helped him and another price (a little less than double) if he had to bring another person to help. I opted to help him - we arranged a time that was only 2 days away and he provided me with a contact number and would call to confirm an hour beforehand. Edward arrived on time and called again when he was outside He brought a dolly to transport things along flat surfaces. His truck looks a bit worn on the outside but is clean inside with furniture protection blankets all over the floor. I'd already disassembled everything and purchased mattress protection bags and he helped me put them on. We loaded everything into his extended van and he followed me to the destination. We had to carry everything up 2 flights of stairs to the bedroom - Edward is a big guy (strong big, not big big) - he could probably carry most things on his own, but needed help to balance and control the mattress and box spring up the stairs. We were done in just over an hour and it was an easy, smooth transaction that cost about 75% less than if I'd hired a moving company. Edward is careful and personable and gets the job done. I would definitely recommend him.

I bought a house that came with a service contract for the combined hot water / heating unit. The heating unit was blowing cool air so I called for a service call. My previous experience with these types of services had been very poor with service people always trying to upsell something once they were in your house. Derek came on a weeknight and checked my system. He made some adjustments and checked the temperature at each vent with a temperature gun. He also checked most of my windows and doors with the temperature gun and located drafty areas for me. I didn't ask for this - he just voluntarily did it. He gave me tips on how to maintain my unit and make adjustments. He also showed me how to caulk the drafty windows and doors. There were no attempts at upselling anything, he was very personable and helpful beyond what he needed to be - and I could not have asked for a better experience.

I went to Teleime on the recommendation of a coworker to shop for a new Fridge and Stove. I went to the Albion Road location and dealt with Tariq. I needed new appliances ASAP to replace existing 25yr old models to sell my condo. Tariq located Whirlpool models and arranged to have them delivered the next evening. Both models were priced below list and prices were comparable with sale prices at other retailers. Tariq also said delivery would include removal of my existing appliances to the curb. I was very impressed with the service given my tight timeline. He even gave me his mobile number to call if I have any questions. The next night I received a call from their delivery service during the time period we had arranged. When I asked if delivery would include removal I was told no. That it would be $20 per appliance. When I said that I was told the price included removal I was told I was wrong but maybe they could arrange a "special price" for me. I instead called Tariq back and was told that he had forgotten to arrange removal. He gave me another number to call - which would come and remove the appliances. Maybe tonight. I explained my tight timeline and was told not to worry. I called the other number and he could not come that night. So I decided to deal with their delivery service and their "special price" Appliances were delivered and mine were removed. Just before they were bout to leave - the delivery person said my price for removal was $40. The guy is obviously someone's son or nephew just learning the family business - he didn't know much about the appliances and the older guy with him knew loads more and was teaching him. The older guy wasn't part of "the family". I asked about the special price. H said that they removed my garbage from the appliance packaging. So it was full price now. I told him to take the garbage out. I would remove it myself. He said no. At this point I was thinking...why do I need to pay you anything, you already performed the service. I can just walk away. I only had $25 and some change on me - which was going to be their tip. I told him that and he said "what if I told you it was going to be $100" By this point the little jerk was really pissing me off. I told him to just take the money I had and to go away. So I emptied my pockets.. all the change -amounting to almost $30 and gave it to him. I'm going to the store tomorrow to ask for a receipt for that amount The sales service was excellent... I'd give that a 9 The delivery and extortion was awful. I'll give that a 2. Average rating 5.5. Before the delivery experience I was going to go back for the appliances at my new house. Now I am not... and I'm just angry about the whole experience.

Lisa has inspected 2 condominium townhouses for me (so far) this year. She is nothing short of professional and her reports are, as her company name implies - meticulous. She takes the time required to do a good, thorough job. I've compared her reports to those from other inspectors and am left wondering what other people really paid for. I also have training as a home inspector and am a professional engineer and Lisa can just as easily to talk to me at a technical level as she can explain things in an easily-understood manner to those without the technical background. She has both confirmed my suspicions and found things I didn't even think of or foresee. I would not hesitate to recommend Lisa.
