When redecorating my family room, I decided to invest in a very light coloured, very expensive custom couch. With 3 young kids and a new puppy, this was a big risk! A friend referred me to Fiber Protection Services and I couldn't be happier. We have dealt with nose bleeds, muddy puppy feet, pen and marker stains...and all have completely come off! The guys who came from Fiber Protection Services to protect our couch were fast, friendly and professional. They even left us with a gift bag with sprays to deal with oil and water based stains. We have used both multiple times, including on our carpet. I couldn't be happier and would eagerly recommend this service. We are using them again for our new dining room chairs, which I wouldn't have the guts to buy in a light fabric if I didn't have these guys to protect them!

We purchased close to $25,000 in new kitchen appliances from Tasco in Richmond Hill. We checked around and prices were pretty similar everywhere. We chose Tasco because the sales person Vince sold us on how important customer service is to them and how all they want is for us to have a great experience and tell our friends and family. Well we have lots to tell - but it's all horrible! The good customer service stopped as soon as they got our money. I'll start with the worst offence, but here have been many other smaller ones too. 1. We paid for our range in full 6 months in advance. They agreed to store it for us while we renovated our house. When we called to have it delivered, we were told that they changed their mind about storing it and they sold it to someone else. They were now unable to order the same stove (some issues with the manufacturer) and we would have to wait 7 weeks to get another range that isn't even what we originally wanted. Their communication regarding this issue was horrible. It took them weeks to let us know what happened and find a solution and they haven't even offered any compensation for all the time we have wasted working with them on this and for getting a different product then what we already paid for. 2. When we received the dishwasher, there was a crack on the back of it. When we called our sales person Vince on the same day it was delivered, he told us to call the 1-800# for the manufacturer to deal with it. WOW, what customer service! 3. We needed some specs for the fridge for our contractor and we happened to call Tasco for this info on a day that our sales person Vince was off. We asked some of the other sales people if they could answer this simple question (afterall, they all sell the same appliances!) but no one wanted to answer our question. They just said we have to wait until Vince is back to get the information. Guess they don't want to bother putting in any effort since they make no commission on our sale. Is this the customer service Vince worked so hard to sell us on?? Overall, I would never use Tasco again and would never recommend them to anyone. In fact, I would warn people to stay away if you want to avoid a headache. I noticed now that their rating on Homestars is awful. I wish I would have checked Homestars before we agreed to buy with them.

Good experience overall but I'm not really sure we got the best deal possible. They were very flexible with us in allowing us to make a purchase to take advantage of a manufacturer promotion but not deliver the appliances until 6 months later after our renovation is completed. When we got our dishwasher, there was some damage to it and the sales person tried to get us to deal with the manufacturers customer service department. We were very unimpressed that after spending over $20,000 he would just stop helping us and pawn us off on the manufacturer to deal with the issue. We complained and he ended up taking care of it but he should have just done so from the beginning.

They were punctual and knew what they were doing. We didn't have to do anything. They knew the history of the pool (we had just moved in). The supervisor came to check in on things and took the time to answer all our questions.

Overall we were very happy with our experience hiring Clarke Basement systems. Everyone who came over to do work was very friendly, courteous and professional. They explained the work very thoroughly. The only negative is that it took a really long time to get an appointment. I guess because they are very busy.

I hired Loc-Tite last year to do some interlocking work. The work was done to our satisfaction. After the winter, the metal border popped out in one area and there was a dip and crack in one section of the interlocking. It took 2 months of calling to get someone to come and fix it. The receptionist was very nice but no one ever called us back....they just showed up one day (luckily we were home!). The only reason I give them a 3/10 rating is because I'm happy with the job they did now that it's fixed (hopefully it will hold!). Things get worse from here though! Unfortunately I referred Loc-Tite to my mother several months ago (before I started calling to get my driveway fixed). She had 3 estimates all in the same ballpark, with Loc-Tite being one of them. The only reason she chose them is because I recommended them. I was at her house the day Foti came and they signed the contract and she paid the deposit. I'll let her post a review and give all the details of what happened since then, but what I can tell you now is that she's been waiting for 2 months, calling 3X per week with rare responses, and now she is being told they refuse to finish her job because they under-quoted. They also won't give her deposit back because they did about 2 hours of work and dumped a pile of small rocks on her driveway (which, by the way, is preventing her from being able to get the rest of the driveway paved and taking up parking space). I feel like horrible for recommending them to my mom because it has put a lot of stress on both my parents. I wish I had read these reviews before because I would have never hired them myself or referred them to anyone. I have had to tell several people who I had referred them to and tell them not to hire them. It's obvious that there is a systemic issue in this company based on all the poor reviews and I'm shocked at how many reviews are 'hidden' - my guess is due to people so mad that they swore too much or accusations so bad that homestars felt the need to confirm them. Scary! Once my parent's issue gets resolved with Loc-Tite, I will update this posting. Hopefully it will be a happy ending...soon! So here's an update...after posting this review, Gregg (the owner) called my mother. He came over and after some negotiation agreed to finish the job at the cost quoted. My mother is very happy with the job! As a result, i increased my rating to a 7. Although the workmanship is great, i still think it is unnecessary for people to have to go through so much pain to get the job done - especially when everything was agreed and a contract signed. It shouldn't take so long for a company to respond to their clients. I think that if Loc-Tite had handled the situation differently - had been honest upfront about making a mistake - a resolution that worked for everyone would have been found quickly. I may recommend them to others in the future but i would definitely tell people what my parents had to go through so they had the full picture before hiring Loc-Tite. Kudos to Gregg for sticking to his contract and finishing the job though!

Hi Yeal
I am glad that you are happy with the job we did for you. As far as your mom is concerned I myself have spoken to her on more than one occasion and I am sure we will come to an agreement that is good for everyone concerned.
And when we do I hope you update your review.

Thx. Gregg
