I went to several stores to check out adjustable beds. Michael, at Adjustable Beds Plus (privately owned) was terrific. He patiently explained all the options, encouraged me to try out several bases and mattresses. I felt I had his full attention and if other customers entered the store, he would greet them, return to me and then engage with them as I rested on various mattresses. I returned one or two times and received the same excellent and knowledgeable service. The fact that there was no pressure to purchase and my feeling that I had all the information I required was a change from my experiences with chain mattress and big box stores. The delivery guys were fantastic and worked diligently to ensure the base and mattress made it up the narrow staircase of my old house and that the bed sat perfectly on my uneven bedroom floor.

Ed from Tempasure was at my home the day after I called the company. The quote was fair and the work was fine. My new air conditioner suits the size of my home and will provide the cool air that my home so desperately needs. He did not try to upsell me. The expert technician, Stephen, had to make a second trip to my home to complete the installation due to unforeseen circumstances. He was friendly and very efficient. Oleg came to my house a few hours after I contacted him. He and his team were able to install my new furnace the following day. They worked until 9 pm to finish the job so that I could have heat in my home. I had been without heat for 3 days as I obtained quotes from other companies. Oleg gave me the confidence that he would do the best job at the fairest price and he did. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and even did some extra piping and electrical work so that the installation of my new water heater the following day would go smoothly. Red Robin reconstructed my chimney and repaired a front porch brick column several years ago. They used the old brick from the chimney to repair the column so that it matched the brick on the other column. The contractor spent a great deal of time matching the grout on the columns. He told me they would match perfectly over time and he was right. Also, the new brick they sourced for the chimney was a good match. A belated thank you. Both repairs have stood the test of time.

I chose De Home cleaning services from Homestars and I was not disappointed. The two gals worked constantly during the allotted time period and continued to clean as they backed out my door. My home was needing a lot of work and they were up to the challenge. I will certainly call upon them again.

I installed a new roof two weeks ago. Raccoons lifted my new shingles trying to re-enter my house. I called Blair at 8 am. He answered the phone and was able to come the same afternoon. He inspected the whole roof and initially included the cost a screen for the chimney in addition to applying mesh screen where it was necessary. When he looked down the chimney he found that it was protected further down in the chimney and he reduced the price by $70.00. A very honest and pleasant young man.

Tony from Albvision installed new patio doors and windows in my home 10 months ago. I was extremely satisfied with his work. I contacted him a week ago for an additional minor repair. He was able to come the same day driving in rush hour traffic across the city. The job ended up taking an hour and a half. My house is 90 years old and the windows are decrepit. After a couple of break ins on our street I contacted SafeTech alarms on the advice of a friend. The installation was a little complicated due to the age of my house and I didn't want a lot of external wires showing. The technician was able to personalize the alarm system for my needs and I appreciate the extra time it took. A few days ago I received a call from the SafeTech monitoring team to let me know that my neighbour's SafeTeck fire alarm was ringing. There was no problem but it was good to confirm that we are being monitored and I feel much safer in my home (as a senior.

Ameer and Romona are as pleasant and professional as the other reviews have stated. They were patient and helpful as I chose my blinds and their prices are excellent. Because there is no middle man(men) they can keep their costs down, a benefit that is passed on to their customers. The blinds were ready at least a week early and Ameer installed them with care and expertise. I have no hesitation in recommending them and I will use them again for my next project. Judy

Tony responded to my initial phone call almost immediately and followed up with a visit and estimate within a few days. The work was completed yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased. He recommended the perfect colour for the patio doors and ensured that they fit perfectly. A pane of the new window broke inadvertently and Tony immediately went to the nearest glass store to obtain a replacement so that all the work could be completed on the same day. This is one of the advantages to there being no middle man. Tony is the company. Thank you for a job well done (and the interesting conversations about the state of the world).

Red Robin tackled the difficult job of repairing a brick column holding up one side of the front porch of my 80 year old house. Other companies I contacted wanted to use new brick but my concern was the new bricks would not match the old bricks on the other column no matter how close the colour match was. RRM rebuilt the column from the base using the original bricks and some bricks from my chimney they replaced. (The new bricks on the chimney were much less obvious). This was, of course, a lot more work because the old bricks had to be carefully removed and cleaned. Yet their price was competitive and I am extremely satisfied. Great guys.

to see dry basements this spring. We had our basements waterproofed by Mario and his crewlate last fall after obtaining estimates and discussing the issues with 5 other companies. Mario knows his stuff, his quote was very reasonable and his crew was excellent. It was dirty work, shoveling by hand (due to confined spaces). But the job was done on time and the work site was left very clean. Mario even replaced some tarp that racoons had shredding in my crawl space. Thank you for the peace of mind.

My neighbour and I had Alex and his father Mario replace an old mutual fence and they also designed and built a smaller fence and gate in my backyard. They noted that my neighbour and I own dogs so they closed off a couple of other openings in our yards and cut back and removed a great deal of ivy at no extra cost. We are very happy with the result and I recommend them highly....a hard working team.

Two years ago I embarked on some interior renovations projects. After being advised twice that my very old hardwood floors could not be saved I was lucky enough to find Demetris. He patiently mixed some stains until I we found the perfect colour. He did a wonderful job and my beautiful floors are the foundation of my now completed renos. Hopefully Demetris will read this and know that two years later I am still thrilled every time I walk into my house.

One evestrough on my 90 year old has has been leaking for some time and I was forced into action by the heavy rains during this past month. After Arthur completed the repair he checked the roof and all the evestroughs to ensure there were no other problems. He also provided me with pictures so I could see that he was correct in advising me that a new roof will be necessary within a few years. Thank you Arthur for making the experience a pleasant one.

My 90 year old home has the original wood windows/porch and cracked crooked plaster interior walls/ceilings. It required the TLC of someone who appreciated her history, respected my wishes to repair rather than replace and had the knowledge of how to do the job. I found Bob on Homestars and after reading the excellent recommendations and meeting him in person I knew that Bob was the man to paint my house. The interior was done last year and the exterior has just been completed. I am so pleased with the results. In addition, because Bob could not ignore additional work my house needed, he made some repairs to the front porch, secured a loose pipe, stained the front door and installed shutters all within the original budget.
