Our main floor reno included redoing all baseboards and casings. We went to Trim Carpenter Supply and found the selection and pricing to be great, but what really sets them apart is their exceptional customer service. After our home renovation, we needed all new casing and baseboard throughout our main floor. We found Rick through Homestars and were impressed by his many great reviews. After meeting him in person, we were confident that he would be a pleasure to work with...and we certainly weren't disappointed. Rick was on time, organized and neat, not to mention his great sense of humor. Most importantly though, his workmanship is incredible. Our house has it's fair share of crooked walls and doorways, but Rick was able to work around every irregularity and it looks beautiful. What a transformation! We hired Dmitri to tile two new washrooms and two small foyers in our home. From our first conversation, Dmitri proved to be helpful, knowledgeable and easy to work with. When he started the job, we could tell right away that he knew what he was doing. He told us what he planned to complete each day he was there and he never missed a target. Dmitri even helped us pick out our tile and made some valuable suggestions that really made a difference in the final product. We found Paul on HomeStars and were impressed by his many great reviews. After our initial conversations with him, we found Paul to be professional, knowledgeable and very approachable. The initial scope of work included leveling and resheeting parts of the main floor, restructuring areas where walls had been removed to create a more open concept layout and framing new walls in one portion of the home. Even though the scope of work increased significantly as we found more defects in the home, as well as some changes we made, Paul was able to complete the job with just two days extra work and at a very reasonable price. Also, Paul and his crew left the house spotless and ready for the next trades to start their work. Working with Paul was honestly one of the best experiences we have had with a contractor. He was always available to answer any of our questions, offered practical solutions and strategies and is a pleasure to work with. We first called David with concerns about possible asbestos in the plaster walls of our 1960's bungalow, which we were renovating. What impressed us most about our initial conversation was his calm and reassuring nature, no fear tactics here. He asked us specific questions to best understand our situation and offered us valuable advise on how to proceed in our renovation. He was able to get lab results back to us in just 12 hours. Luckily, the tests were negative for asbestos. A home inspection, done prior to purchasing the house, had indicated the presence of asbestos in the heat registers and wrapped around some heat pipes. We felt strongly that David was the right person to take care of the asbestos removal. David and his team arrived early, did professional, quality work at a reasonable price. David was always available to answer any questions we had and he is a wealth of information! We would highly recommend Amosite to anyone needing asbestos testing and removal. We called Ahmed to help us get rid of a swarm of black bees we had by the front door and exterior light of a home we had just purchased. He quoted us over the phone and gave us an appointment for the next day. He arrived right on time, sprayed and smoked out the bees and then proceeded to take a look around the whole exterior of the property. He informed us that we had more of a bug problem than we first thought (spiders, earwigs, ants etc). Without even having to ask him, he proceeded to spray the entire exterior of our home for a wide variety of bugs and he didn't charge us a penny more than his initial quote. I would not hesitate to recommend Ahmed to my friends and family. Great service, excellent communication and fair pricing.
