    Very expensive maintenance

    Beware!! Check around. I had routine maintenance done on my Daikin Heat Pump today. One of the blowers needed cleaning. I was told this was not included and a complicated job. The technician called to get a quote of $355. After the blower cleaning only took about 20 minutes, I called the company to question the price. I was told the technician should not be penalized for being efficient!!! I have no complaints at this point about the work done. However, I called another company and the blower cleaning is included in their maintenance price which is the same.

When our technician, Anthony performed maintenance on your multi-head ductless system he found the blower wheel in one unit completely plugged. This is usually a sign of a significant period of time with no maintenance and means there is little to no airflow through the unit. When an experienced technician undertakes a cleaning like this it may appear simple, but is often more involved that it may seem. A blower wheel “deep clean” involves dismantling the interior head, completely removing the blower wheel, cleaning it thoroughly to remove all the buildup of dirt, then reinstalling the blower wheel and retesting the operation of the unit.A “deep clean” of a blower wheel is definitely not part of routine maintenance, and, in a typical residential setting, is usually only required a couple of times over the 15 year life expectancy of most ductless air conditioner heads depending on buildup. As always, our clients are quoted cleaning and repair costs and must give approval for the work before we proceed.

    Issue resolved and we hope for the long term. Our concern is what will happen after 10 years of use? Request as long term maintenance agreement. Hopefully Belyea will agree. Will wait and see. .

    We know this blistering heat makes everyone a little grumpy, but Mr. Van der Griend seems to want to throw the baby out with the bath water. In August 2017, almost two years after his attic air conditioning system was installed, a call came in that the unit had shut off. Our technician attended the house on the same day, determined the “wet switch”, a device designed to shut an air conditioner off to prevent flooding, had been tripped by water slowly backing up the drain line and dripping into the secondary drain pan in the attic. The wet switch was dried and our technician decided that making an adjustment to the drain line would likely improve the condensate flow out of the attic. This adjustment was performed at no charge to the client. Then in the last week of June 2018, in the midst of the highest humidity levels in almost fifty years, Mr. Van der Griendcalled in to say the unit had shut off. Our technician found that the condensation was backing up the drain line and triggering the “wet switch”. The difference versus the previous year, however, was that the condensate appeared to be draining slowly at the exact point where the drain exited the eaves. Our tech disconnected the line at that point, blew through it and flow was increased leading us to believe that an air bubble caused by something like a spiders web or bits of mineralized debris had slowed the flow of condensate. Once whatever the obstruction was had been cleared, the drain was able to cope with the incredibly high humidity levels we were experiencing through the long weekend. In both instances, the system performed as it was designed to prevent damage, our service team responded quickly,and Mr. Van der Griend’s air conditioning was working within a matter of hours.

    Air conditioning

    I was looking for an attic system. I made an appointment which David Frost cancelled for personal reasons. I was fine with that. However, he came and advised me of my options. This was to be followed up by a second person a week later. That person attended and advised my home was suitable for such a system. That was over a month ago. I called and emailed but never heard back. This was a huge waste of time

You have an unusual application of what is traditionally commercial equipment in a residential setting, and a rare circumstance where a closer inspection of the attic space leads us to believe the removal of the existing system might actually take as long as the installation of a new system, coupled with the logistical complication of possibly needing immediate exterior repairs. Regrettably, the heat-wave slowed down our ability to get a plan together in a timely fashion. We do suggest that clients with unique system or systems that have known access issues allow for long lead times when planning replacements. For complicated air conditioning system replacements we suggest clients begin the process in early March, and for the equivalent types of heating issues we suggest beginning the process in late August.

    Replacement AC

    Our central air conditioner had a refrigerant leak (again) and was finally beyond repair just as the temperatures soared into the 30’s. After filling in the Belyea online request form, which included information about a bedridden family member who was stuck upstairs in the heat, we received a call first thing in the morning on the next business day. The team prioritized sending Bruce out within a few hours. He (and later, Philip) answered our many questions, and arranged for the installation of a new Daikin DX13SA central air conditioner just a few days later. The installers (Paul and Marc) were considerate and efficient, and, after more than half a day's continuous work, left everything neat and functioning well! Thanks to Belyea for rescuing us -- we are very happy with the service and the results!! D & K

    Mitsubishi A/C Installation

    We had a two unit A/C system installed in our apartment today, and the whole process was as smooth and efficient as we could have hoped for. Damien and Matthew were professional but easygoing and worked quickly but diligently, getting the installation done in less time than expected while still cleaning up thoroughly. We were recommended to Belyea Bros. by neighbours in our building who’d used them before, and now we have other neighbours already asking us for referrals for who installed our A/C. We will gladly refer them to Belyea Bros. because we really couldn’t have asked for better, faster, or more efficient customer service and installation. Thanks to Damien and Matt for a job well done!     Installation of a central A/C unit

    My experience with Belyea Bros. Limited was excellent from the meeting with the sales representative who gave excellent advice on my options to the installation which was done as scheduled in a professional manner. The installers were courteous and professional.

    Installation of Mitsubishi Ductless AC

    Wilson and Berris came on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up after their work. They were pleasant, helpful and answered any questions we had. It was a relief to have them install our AC after a terrible experience previously with another company. We would highly recommend the company! J and J

    Replacing Old Ductless A/C

    I contacted Belyea Brothers about getting a new ductless air conditioner for the third floor of our house (Mitsubishi MSZ-FS12NA). Craig was the sales person, and he was very helpful as we walked around the area and discussed the different product and installation options. He estimated that it would take about a week and a half before the installers could come, but luckily a spot opened up for me only 4 days later. Paul and Marc came to do the install and did a great job. They removed my old rooftop ductless and installed the new system in about 5 hours, including testing and cleanup. Both installers were friendly, professional, and efficient. Very happy with the result!

    Ductless air conditioning install

    Belyea Brothers did fantastic work installing a ductless a/c system in our new space. The timing was tight, and we had very little money, and they came in on price, and on time. I couldn't be happier with the quote and the service. The install went flawlessly, and they did a fantastic job of being discrete and leaving a clean workspace. Great installers, and a pleasure to work with.

    Split AC sale and install

    I'm very satified with my decision to use Belyea Brothers for my new split AC system. First, Pawel (service tech, not a sales guy) was friendly and professional when I approached him on my street while he was doing a service call. He called me later that day and he himself showed up later that evening to give me a quote. A true gentleman. Next the installers. Damien and Matthew showed up an hour early and were friendly, well mannered, professional and super qualified to do the task at hand. They were restpectful of my house and property. They did a fantastic job!!! I have already recommended Belyea Bros several times. The installation was flawless. These guys are great at what they do.
