    New Boiler and Tankless Hot Water Heater Install

    We decided to purchase a new boiler from Belyea Bros. in September 2008 as the old house we bought had one of those monster cast iron jobs with asbestos, etc. AFTER removing our old boiler, the technician/sales manager advised us that their chimney person would not be able to put the required liner in due to the pitch of our roof and they would need to call a specialist in. The specialist advised that due to the condition of our chimney, they could not insert a liner and so we could not use the boiler as originally agreed on! Our only option was a high efficiency boiler which vented out the side of the house at over $2,000 additional cost or to redo the chimney at about $10,000. This was a suprise to us, especially after they already removed our old boiler and now had very limited options! With little to no option from our perspective, we put in the more expensive unit. We ended up not being happy with the overall experience and think that the chimney, being a major part of the work, would have been scoped properly before the project had started and the original boiler being removed. After discussing this with the company, we were assured that there is no way to confirm the condition of the old chimney before the old boiler is removed. Removal is step one in the job.... I would suggest anyone looking to replace their entire heating system to be VERY sure that every part of the job has been taken into consideration and ask lots of questions BEFORE work starts. Especially if you have an older chimney.

    ductless air conditioner service

    We called Belyea because they were highly recommended. We wanted an HVAC professional to take a look at a leaky ductless unit in a home we just purchased, and advise us on if we should bother fixing it, as well as on the overall state of both units in our home. We wanted to know if they were in good enough shape to be serviced, if they should be replaced, if they were optimally installed, etc. This seemed like a fairly standard sort of consultation, that we expected to pay for. On the phone with the office, it became clear that we had two options: 1- get a technician who would ONLY service the leaky unit, but not look at anything else in regards to the system overall 2- get an estimator for an entirely new system who would not offer any advice on the existing system. I thought I'd misunderstood these options, but no. It appears Belyea does not offer any sort of consultation on an existing system. Surprising - seems like a perfect sales opportunity to me, but anyway... We opted for the technician. He came, barely spoke English and could not tell us anything about why our unit wasn't working and how long it would live. When my husband tried to ask a few questions, the tech intimated that if we weren't interested in getting the fix, he would need to leave as he had other jobs to get to. We couldn't believe why folks have been so happy with this company. They seem to be missing out on a fairly significant business opportunity by refusing to offer consultation to people like us who may indeed be in the market for an entirely new system, but would just like to know that, or who would be good customers for servicing for some time and then stick with the vendors they know when it comes time to replace. Everyone knows it's way better to retain a customer than find a new one, and though we were Belyea customers once, we most certainly never will be again.

    Install of Air Con

    Have used this company to install a new slim jim air con. Install went smoothly and technician was knowledgeable and efficient. Continue to use them to service my furnace and air conditioners. Originally had Belyea attend to a service call that was being cancelled by their competitor, Dupont Heating. Apparently Dupont Heating didn't want to go on the roof to service the air con. Belyea had no problem and always shows up on time.

    Ductless Air Conditioner system installed

    We met with a number of heating and cooling businesses at the 2008 Home Show. Belyea won our business because the sales representative, David Frost, was professional and convincing. His proposed solution, the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim cooling system, fit our budget and met our expectations. Belyea was flexible with their schedule and the installation took place very quickly after we awarded them the business. The installers were professional and the job was done efficiently and cleanly. The installers gave us a demonstration of the system before they left. Belyea followed up with a call after the install and we have just received a letter in the mail reminding us to do a quick spring clean before we use the system. Belyea takes their customer satisfaction serious and we are more than happy to recommend them to anyone asking about a good heating and cooling company.

    New Boiler and Rads

    Belyea claims to be the Experts in Heating and Air Conditioning for "older" houses in Toronto. I would completely agree with that claim. They installed a new boiler system and were very well priced compared to their competitors. Many of the trades were not exactly pleasant to deal with. Belyea was highly professional and just plain "nice" throughout the process. The work is tidy and precise. Cleanup was good and they respected my home. The system is working quietly as promised and to date I'm extremely pleased with belyea. The only complaint is that the salesman (David) needs to be more responsive, I kept having to call him to send the quote as he promised.

    Sink Installation

    These guys and gals are great. I had bought a new bathroom sink and had commenced installation only to realize that because of the different size of the sinks the drop pipe from the drain to the j-trap would not line up. I called Belyea, explained the situation and booked an appointment for the next day. Within about three hours I got a call back saying they could come in 1/2 an hour. The plumber arrived, assessed the situation, went to his truck and within 45 minutes everything was done. In addition he did a straight exchange on a part that I had purchased rather than bill me for a new part. Excellent service, friendly and prompt. I had previously used them for a toilet leak and they had reponded equally well. Wish they were all like this.

    New Mitsubishi Slim Air Conditioner

    Searched for an air conditioner for many months and was very pleased to meet with David Frost at Belyea Bros. He was knowledgeable, honest and explained all the options available. The installation was done on time and on budget and have been very pleased with the quality workmanship and friendly service.

    Air Conditioning and Heating
