    Furnace/AC/Humidifier/Thermostat Replacement

Joe Grieco of Enercare, Markham office came to quote on a whole new HVAC system. From his initial consultation, right through to final installation was an example of top customer service. Joe talked me through selection of the pros and cons of the options. He was very honest; even talking me out of an add-on HEPA dust filtering unit because it makes additional noise, which I had told him was an issue for me. Installation and new ducting was a huge job, done in a day by very experienced installers. I requested two more installation calls, which were cheerfully filled within the next day. First call; I asked the fan speed to be turned down to its lowest level because I am sensitive to noise, and secondly I asked my water line for the AC to be repositioned to be completely hidden behind the Fawcett for aesthetic reasons. Joe was instantly emailing me to get these issues resolved, both of them resulting in installers arriving within about 12 hours. I don't think service levels can get any better, and the installers are highly skilled.

    annual maintenance for 2 furnaces

annual maintenance contract servicing provided by Craig on Sept 8. Friendly, efficient and courteous; arrived early in agreed time window; went over the findings for each furnace carefully; and left us an Enercare booklet with useful information. Our experience with Enercare has been always excellent. We always recommend your services where relevant. This is the second time we have had Craig. He is an excellent employee!

    Replace Boiler

I had to replace our 30 year plus boiler. All it took was one call to Enercare and within 4 days the Job was complete. One consultation with Shahab and a high efficiancy boiler was chosen, a consultation date with the installers, Kash and Viktorz, and a date to install. I appreciated Shahab's recommendation on pre installation. They were all polite, proffesional, punctual, tidy, and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the process..no stress what so ever!!!!! A beutiful job, keep up the excellent work.

    Boiler Service

I had a problem with my boiler that was difficult to diagnose. Turned out to be a plumbing problem and the technician, Pierre took the time to figure it out. This was done even though the plumbing is not really a part of boiler service. Pierre was very professional and talked to me a few times about the problem and how to avoid it in the future. Thank you again Pierre!

Enercare HOME, misleading prices with nothing in writing not even an agreement

In April, I called Enercare to schedule an appointment for my furnace maintenance and was asked how old my Air Conditioner (AC) was. I said 12 years. As usual I was given the sales pitch: “You will be starting to have problems with an AC that old and with our limited time offer for just $6 a month more you can be covered for any repairs and you can cancel anytime. Just a service call to replace a fan will cost $500.” I was pressured into accepting, considering that I can barely make ends meet as a senior with limited health and resources. I was weak because usually I refuse. In July my AC stopped cooling and I called Enercare. The repairman after testing my AC said that the compressor is not good and will cost $2000 to replace but Enercare only covers up to $500. He said an AC life is approximately 10 years and recommended I buy or better rent a new one from Enercare. I was not given anything in writing as an agreement, what problems were found, an estimate to fix or even a receipt that includes the name of the person who came to my house. I cannot afford to buy nor rent so I called to cancel my cooling plan but was told that I have to pay the full price, over $200 for the remaining 8 months because the agreement was for 12 months. I never even signed any agreement!!! Yesterday a friend came over turned the power to the AC off and then back on and the AC works fine. Are the Enercare staff just trained in selling more products and services rather than fixing? Is this the Enercare scheme? $500 max covered? Why didn't they say the AC is too old to be in their Cooling Plan? You can cancel anytime as long as you pay and they keep billing because Enbridge collects for them. Is this even right? This is not to blame the employees but the culture being promoted. I was advised to post anonymously..... I feel deceived by Enercare.

    Answer from pro:

Hi there - Please note that the terms of your contract are located in the Welcome Package that you would have received via mail or email upon entering into the plan. Our technicians are expertly trained to provide best advice based on the needs of our customers. We do recommend a protection plan for customers with older equipment as older equipment is more likely to breakdown and require repairs. If you would like further clarification, please email me at support@enercare.ca and I'd be happy to discuss. Thanks!

    Home Furnace and AC service

Just want to leave a comment about a recent Enercare service call. I had the pleasure of having Enercare tech Chris Dalton check our home furnace and air conditioning recently. Chris was polite, friendly and curteous, and he explained everything he was checking as he went. I highly recommend Chris to any customers in the future.
