    Installation of new boiler system

the installation was a great amount of work, removing old boiler and replacing it with a wall mounted unit. Kurtis and Kevin were diligent. courteous workers. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. They did not leave until they were assured the unit was working perfectly. It took 4 days and each day they cleaned up before they left. They were totally amazing, hats off to both of you, thank you so much

Replacement of furnace, air conditioner & water heater

After 16 years, our builder's grade air conditioner leaked. We decided it was time to replace both air & furnace, along with upgrade rental water heater. Enercare had fair prices, explained clearly options they could offer. Within a few days, we had both installed. Installers were professional, highly efficient, respectful to their clients & home. After installed, they showed & explained work done. They also showed what we should check for ourselves. We were very impressed how quickly the removal & install was.

    Annual Maintenance Under Plan

Pay monthly for furnace plan. Scheduled maintenance call to do standard checks. Technician came and did most of tests but needed to come back for final test. Provided date and time. That morning Enercare called to say people called in sick could they come later in day. We agreed. They did not show so called customer service . First person said they saw note that technician called and no answer. There was no call - we were home waiting. Second person then said no record of appointment. Have email confirm of it. Two days invested so far in simple maintenance call and not done.

Heating and cooling maintenance covered by Enecare warranty program

I have the Enecare full warranty program for cooling, heating, water heater, plumbing and electricity. They keep calling me for service appointments, the technicians are professionals, always show on time and call beforehand. This warranty is worth its cost and gives you peace of mind

    Air conditioning unit

Air conditioning unit not working, coils were iced up indicating a leak. My unit is 15 years old. A new air conditioner was recommended after the issue was explained. A new unit was installed by 2 very professional & experienced men, Ross & Rick. Very thorough, I was completely satisfied.

Thanks so much for sharing!I will certainly pass along your great feedback to Ross, Rick and the rest of the team.

    A\C

House was 30c on Sunday, called for service Scott arrived Monday am. Could not resolve problem suggested looking into rental. I'm house bound due to recent surgery, looking for the quickest solution had a knowledgeable rep Rachel visit later in the day. Had installer's Steve and Vince show up Tues morning to remove and install new furnace and a\c explained the process through installation left me with the first lot of free filters for lifetime. Next Ray Randy of Enecare duct cleaning showed up at 8 am as promised for the first of free duct cleaning every two years... Happy Customer Mark Brampton

Pretty good until your move...then a rip off!

I've had an Enercare service plan for years. My experience with their technicians has been great. The guys are polite, knowledgeable and tidy. I had a few call outs many years ago (about 10 years ago) but virtually nothing since except for the scheduled maintenance visits twice a year. As a result...Enercare has made a lot of money off me over the years. The problem is that I signed up for another year long contract in December, then sold our house in April and moved out in July. Prior to moving I called Enercare to find out the options for my contract. They told me that I can either cancel entirely, in which case I will be billed for the balance of the payments for the year, or I can transition the plan to my new home and continue the plan for the balance of my term. I moved into a temporary rental house for about a year, so despite that the landlord is responsible for the system, I figured I may as well get some value out of the balance of the contract, so I opted to move it here. Now here is the problem - I get my final gas bill for the old house and it shows a charge from Enercare for the balance of the contract to be paid out as a lump sum. I called Enercare when seeing this and their response was that the amount is billed out against my prior home, but I will get a credit for this amount on the bill for my new residence. The catch - in order to take advantage of this credit I will need to sign up for a full 12 month term again (also - at a higher price). So my options are: 1) forfeit the cost of the balance of the contract ($339) and give Enercare a windfall at my expense. 2) sign up for a 12 month contract for this rental house, which I don't need In the process of getting to these 2 options, I was transferred through multiple call centres and wasted way too much time on hold for nothing. In the end I have given up as my time is worth more than the benefit I would gain by arguing with them over their 'policy'. I suspect there are no consumer protection laws in place to protect people from such practices, however I do know that even the insurance companies refund your premiums if you terminate your policy mid-year. Enercare has set a pretty low bar for themselves with their customer policy. So live and learn. I have learned that I will never again deal with Enercare nor recommend them to anyone I know. Perhaps someone from Enercare will read this and learn that there is little to be gained by being petty with loyal customers from whom they have made many thousands of dollars over the years - but I doubt that they care. I hope my experience will prove helpful to others that may be considering buying a home protection plan from Enercare.

    Water Heater Rental

My rented water heater is spewing water onto my basement floor. Enercare response: someone will call you back today or tomorrow. Why have I been paying them monthly all these years? I've turned off the water and am looking into options.

    Service of AC & Furnace

The technicians maybe okay. The Customer Service have screwed up appointments 2 years in a row. This year the tech did not turn up and CS kept informing me that he was running late @ 8 pm for a 2-6 pm appointment. Subsequently made another appointment which was confirmed via email and got several subsequent emails with a different date and time. Called and confirmed the original date, and once again get confirmation emails with the wrong date. Called CS again and they tell me the original was cancelled and confirmed a date I never agreed to. I've since cancelled the renewal. Support at Enercare does not answer any complaints. THE WORST SERVICE.
