    Hot Watertank Evaluation

Exceptional technician with excellent communication skills, knowledge and experience. Examined my existing water tank, discussed alternatives and strengths and weaknesses of replacements. Enercare is a reputable company with highly skilled and competent employees. Highly recommended!

Beware of the Protection Plan Terms and Conditions

My elderly parents were talked into signing up for this plan when they got a new furnace after a flood in their basement. They pay a $60-70 monthly fee for maintenance on their heating and cooling systems. What they didn't realize is that it AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS EVERY YEAR, and you have only a 10 DAY WINDOW to call them to cancel after the renewal date. If you cancel the plan (including moving) after the 10 days, you get billed out the WHOLE YEAR whether or not you have used any of their services. My parents moved in with us recently because they can't afford to live on their own, and so we had to cancel their services. This was 1 month after the renewal date - and they were stuck with a bill for $700! I called the customer service line to explain the situation to see if they could pro-rate or cancel the fee, since no maintenance had occurred during that time - but I was politely told they could do nothing as it was clearly laid out in the terms and conditions on their website that this would happen. When I escalated, they just kept repeating the same thing. No exceptions. BUYER BEWARE! Enercare is making a LOT OF MONEY off of elderly people who don't understand what they are signing up for.

    Answer from pro:

Hi there - Similar to any contract, there are buyout fees associated with opting out of your plan early. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of your contract for more information.

    Home Visit for Leaky Tank

The other day we notices rusty residue on the floor of our basement right beside our water tank and immediately contacted Enercare for assistance. They were very accommodating with our availability and showed concern to get to the bottom of the issue. Our service technician was a man named Dave and he was very personable, knowledgeable and didn't waste any time getting right to work. He answered what seemed like a ton of questions that my husband asked and he was able to fix the problem by changing a hose. He was in and out in no time and I wanted to make sure that he was recognized for his work. Further to that, I believe it was the manager (Annemarie Hughes) that contacted us after the visit to ensure that everything went well and that our tank issues were cleared and we had hot water. You don’t hear of customer service like this very often and I wanted to also be sure that the company (Enercare) was recognized for their amazing crew and turnaround time. It's nice to know that we have a company we can rely on to come and assess our problems quickly.

    Furnace maintenance and repair

I was sold on a maintenance plan last week. On the first visit I was told my furnace was unusable and they tried to sell me a new furnace. This is the same furnace that has worked without an issue for many years. On their first visit they tried a fear tactic to get me to buy there new furnace. Sounds more like a used car sales job. Beware of such practices.

    Duct Cleaning

Paul Vi came out to do our duct cleaning. He was professional and very courteous. He even went over and beyond the call of duty by trying to get toys that my son had tossed down our vent in his playroom. He took extra time to reroute the vacuum (which is a pretty big job if you see the size of the vacuum that they use) and was successful in making sure that the vent had airflow again. One of the best services that I have ever received. I would highly recommend Paul!

    Gas water heater replacement

Our 13 year old 50 gal gas water heater sprang a leak at the bottom this week. We researched purchasing vs continuing to rent and, determining that a rental water heater is better for us, called Enercare. Jacob and Jeremy from Enercare, Barrie came the next day. They called ½ hour before they arrived with a new 50 gal gas water heater and new vent pipe. They were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They replaced the unit and pipes within two hours, cleaned up after themselves, then taught us the features of the water heater. It was a pleasure dealing with Jacob and Jeremy and I'd recommend them to anyone needing a water heater. Kudos to Enercare for excellent service and staff.
