Stay away from Enercare as this company will make a wrong diagnosis that there is a crack on the heat exchanger of your furnace and Enercare will recommend that you buy a brand new furnace from them. I had the 1st Enercare technician checked my furnace about three weeks ago and at the end of the furnace inspection, the 1st Enercare technician claimed that there was a crack on the heat exchanger and recommended that I would be better off buying a brand new furnace since my furnace is 10 years old rather than repairing the crack on the heat exchanger for about $1,000.00 plus taxes. Since there was a crack on the heat exchanger, Enercare put a red tag on my furnace and turned off my furnace and gas line. I ended up having a cold house for the past week because of this as the past week was kind of cold. At this point, I trusted and believed Enercare that they are actually doing their job because that is the reason why I am paying them in the first place.
Good thing, I have decided not to buy my new furnace from Enercare instead I hired a new HVAC contractor who is licensed and has a reputable track record because when the new HVAC contractor installed my new furnace (LENNOX modulating furnace), they found out that there was actually no crack on the heat exchanger of the old furnace when in fact it was just a rust but not a crack like Enercare was claiming.
I also requested Enercare to send in another Enercare technician to take a look at the crack on the heat exchanger and of course the second Enercare technician was claiming and insisting that there was really a crack on the heat exchanger. Enercare won’t admit that they made the wrong diagnosis even though it was really obvious that there was no crack whatsoever on the heat exchanger of my furnace. I will attach pictures of my heat exchanger and you will obviously see that those are just rust and not crack on the heat exchanger. The second Enercare technician was actually rude and belittling me that I just got my new HVAC contractor from Kijiji and I should have been better off repairing the crack on the heat exchanger which actually contradicted the recommendation of the 1st Enercare technician. In fact at the end after the second Enercare technician finished with disassembling my heat exchanger, I asked him to help me move the furnace to my front yard just on the grass and the second Enercare technician said that it should be the job of the new HVAC contractor that I hired to install the new furnace. REALLY!!! Enercare is this the way you treat your customer? Just talking about customer service from Enercare.
Please stay away from this Enercare Home Services as they are there to get your money. You are better off hiring another HVAC company to check and maintain your furnace.
Also, when it is time to cancel the monthly furnace protection plan because I have a new furnace installed, you are stucked to paying Enercare Home Services to the rest of your plan because Enercare automatically renews your contract every year even without the homeowner agreeing to it.
Lastly, if there is a lower number than zero that is how I would rate Enercare Home Services. I won’t even recommend Enercare Home Services to my family and friends so please spare yourself a headache and move to another HVAC contractor before it is too late so you won’t experience the same bad experience that I had with Enercare Home Services.
