Review from Customer of Enercare Home Services Review left on 23 Jul 2016Rating: 2 out of 5They usually phone to hook up clients and I did too. But after one year they sent letters that it has been auto renewed which I never knew. Once the AC was not working, technician came and informed some parts require to get from Carrier and it will cost $700-800 to fix them which I didn't believe. So finally I called the company who installed, they came and found that the AC gas is mixed up with other gas while Enercare technician hooked up their gadget which has caused problem. they fixed it and it cost us $250- so you can see their expertise here...Review from Ramesh Narayan Ramesh Narayan

Our 15 year old air conditioner broke down couple of days ago when the temperature outside was 35degrees Celsius. As we had the 3 in one protection plan reached out to enercare maintenance department and they scheduled the technicians visit the next day. Mr Mukesh Patel the HVAC technician arrived early on the scheduled date and diagnosed the problem with us old A/c as a leak of refrigerant. He advised us that based on the age of our air conditioner it would be better if we replace the unit instead of repairing the old unit. He then informed the sales department about our interest. Subsequently we scheduled a sales call and Mr Brian Masulka the Energy management consultant visited our home next day. He evaluated our home and suggested a 2 Ton 16 SEER air conditioner. He also suggested Amana A/c unit. Finally today Brian came over to finalize the deal and he very promptly organized the installation this afternoon. At 12.10 PM Mark and his team arrived and installed the unit. Mark and his team were absolutely brilliant and did a great job of removal of the old unit, installing the new A/c unit, installing an return air vent in the basement, reorganized the water flow from the a/c . Guys appreciate your assistance and help.Answer from pro:
Hi Ramesh- Thanks so much for sharing your great experience with us! I will certainly pass along your note to Brian.

Review left on 22 Jul 2016Rating: 0 out of 5Billing for 2 furnaces.
My mother had Enercare remove an old furnace which they replaced with a new. The old furnace was being billed at $44 plus taxes and the new $69 plus taxes. The old furnace was remove in November 2015 and since that time has been billed for both the old and new furnace. Since it was being paid through a pre authorized debit plan she never noticed until April 2016. You figure it would be easy, just cut her a cheque for the over payment. Not for Enercare, they insisted on crediting her account and now they have that so messed up I don't know if she will ever get her full refund. So far, I've spent 4 hours on the phone with them trying to resolve this but to no avail, the only thing that has changed on the bill is the old furnace now appears as a $31 charge instead of a $44 charge. Baffoons is the nice thing I can sayAnswer from pro:
Hi there- I'd like to help get this resolved for you as soon as possible. Please email me at support@enercare.ca with more details of your account so that I can access your case. Thank you.

Short version: be prepared for extremely uneven customer care. Long, not very interesting but deeply frustrating version: After speaking to three different people at Enercare to set up a consultation for A/C, furnace and tankless water heater, I was told they'd call me back to set up a time. They didn't. I called again and was told they weren't going to send someone out for a hard quote unless we were sure we wanted the appliances (?!). This agent also kept bringing up the instalment plan even though I stated clearly I would not be using one. Needless to say I ended up using a different company for the appliances and installation - but the saga continues! Stay tuned as I attempt to return my old rented Enercare tank (three phone calls, averaging 20 minutes each, and counting. However I had the dubious comfort of one agent telling me all the earlier people I spoke to must have been crazy/new employees/ confused. That's always reassuring!). They will pick it up, as I have no vehicle and can't carry it into the return depot by myself, but they will charge me $75 to do so. Fair enough I guess - except that if I lived 35 km away instead of the 7 km that I do, there would be no charge... ? I have suggested that since I've rented for 18 years (why? What was I thinking?), never got a service call or a check-in, and had been on the receiving end of some frustrating customer care perhaps they would consider waiving the fee. Maybe they will, who knows. I see a lot of 10s among the reviews, so clearly they get it right sometimes but they sure didn't with me.Review from Customer of Enercare Home Services Customer of Enercare Home Services

I have heating and air protection plan with Enercare. On Saturday the air conditioner stopped working and Enercare dispatched a service person. The problem was diagnosed as needing a new circuit board and blower. I was told the parts will be in by Monday, Tuesday the latest. After numerous daily calls Monday to Wednesday, no one at Enercare can tell me when the parts will arrive and when the problem will be solved. They have on file that my mother who is elderly has CHF and the hot and humid weather is not good for her. As of 3:06 Wednesday, I have not heard from Enercare. The customer service is very poor and some are out right rude and impatient. I would definitely not recommend anyone to purchase any of their maintenance plansAnswer from pro:
Hi there- I am so sorry to hear this. Please email me at support@enercare.ca and I will investigate this for you. Thanks.

Called Enercare services as AC was not cooling the house. An agent named Harry came to check the AC unit. Talk about an agent who was punctual, professional. knowledgeable and with highest degree of integrity. The job they did and if I did not have my protection plan would have cost me over $1000. He came a few times fixed it and when he did not have enough gas, he still came in the scorching heat to come and fill the gas. Fantastic company with wonderful technicians. I would highly recommend this service.Answer from pro:
Hi Jasmin- Thank you for sharing, this is great to hear! I will certainly pass your note along to Harry.

Late last week my AC quit working& since I pay for a maintenance plan,I called for a service call. Tech arrived & suspected a capacitor problem, but doubted he had a part.He must have found one as he replaced it,but unit still did not start. He then advised me that the compressor was shot & would require a new one or a whole new unit .I called your office & was advised a cost of $1000 + for repair or i could speak to sales about a new unit..My friend advised a 2nd opinion. I called a different company & their Tech advised me that your tech had wired the new part incorrectly. He corrected that mistake & unit started up immediately & has performed perfectly since. I am very unhappy as I also have a heating plan with you.I feel very strongly that I should be reimbursed for the$110.00 fee I paid the tech for fixing my problem & saving me big monies as I am a senior on fixed..This request has so far been denied by your officeReview from Customer of Enercare Home Services Customer of Enercare Home Services

I moved into my home 2 years ago and called to get my bills set up for payment. Enercare was only one who couldn't give me s bill or timeline when i would get it. 6 months later they finally sent it to me even after i called monthly requesting it. I owed $300. I started making payments and they kept saying they werent getting all of my payments. I kept calling to get it fixed. Another year of this and i discovered they were sending my payments to my old address with same account number. I kept calling and evey time was told it would be fixed. 2 years later I finally got it fixed and my payments were up to date. I was told not to pay it for a month as they were creating a new accouny for me to fix all my previous issues. A week later i got a letter saying they had sent my account to collections in error. And customer service couldnt even tell they had done it. They alleged it was fraudulent. It wasnt. They're disasters who cant even talk to own billing department. Customer service people are nice enough but have no idea what is going on in their back office. Finally had enough and bought a water heater. Now they are asking for $75 to pick up the old one. Probably safest choice. Given my frustration level avoiding their offices is best. Heaven help the person i unload my frustrations on in their head office when they get my letter because customer care did nothing at all to help.Review from Customer of Enercare Home Services Customer of Enercare Home Services

My furnace broken down in Feb. 2016. I called Enercare for technician. after one hour, an Enercare salesman came to my home who strongly recommended me a rent agreement without explain the details of terms and conditions, and did not introduced me buying options. He mentioned If I rent a furnace from Enercare, I can terminated lease at anytime since it is lease agreement, more flexable. And also he said furnace will be Amana, but after installation, I found it was changed to Goodman. So I called Enercare home services asking for cancellation of this agreement within 10 days cooling-off period. But I was told if I cancel this agreement, I have to pay $3800.00 for cancellation. Ontario Consumer Act clearly say that customer hold right to cancellation within cooling-off period. I really do not why they asked me so much many. And this agreement was signed under their salesman's misrepresentation and uncleared disclosure. Before I think Enercare is a big company with very good reputation, but actually they cajoled their customer and without taking any responsibilities.Answer from pro:
