I had a number of "protection" plans that I had been duped into purchasing and when my bill came I also noticed some that I definitely did not request, including both a heating protection plan and a maintenance plan and an unwanted air conditioning maintenance plan. When I attempted to have these cancelled when I noticed them on my bill, I was told they could not be cancelled for A YEAR!!!!! I advised the customer service rep named Maia, that I had never requested these plans and would therefore like them to be discontinued.I told Maia that I didn't want these plans on my bill. Maia told me that she would remove them from my bill but direct energy would bill me separately and if I didn't pay, they would go to collections. Within the next few weeks, I found that I needed to actually replace my furnace and A/C (this is another story). About two weeks later after never having received any bill from Direct Energy, I received a phone call from Direct Energy Collections for an outstanding $45 amount that was 10 days over due. 10 DAYS OVER DUE!!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! Another week has passed and guess what, Still no bill from Direct Energy! Can you say MONOPOLY!!!
