My experience with Dodds started out great. Allan came out in the evening after I got home from work to give me an estimate. He was friendly and knowledge. The price was a little higher, but still competitive. I figured a company with good reviews would stand behind their work and was willing to pay the premium for it, so I signed the contract. A little over a week later, my new garage door was installed and the frame was capped with aluminum. It looked great. But that's when the good part of the experience ended. <br /><br />After about a month, I noticed that the aluminum was buckling on hot days. So I called Dodds and spoke to Stan (the service manager). He asked that I e-mail some photos to him and he would schedule a time to come and fix it. I sent him some photos and waited for a response. A week later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I e-mailed him again. He responded that he would get Angela (who does the scheduling) to schedule a time. Another week goes by and I don't hear from Stan or Angela. I e-mail Stan again, no response after a day, so I call the office and manage to speak to Angela. She sets up an appointment in two weeks for someone to come and fix the capping. They will come after 1pm. It has taken two weeks just to get an appointment set up. <br /><br />On the Thursday they are supposed to come fix the capping, nobody shows up. I've taken the afternoon off work and waited all afternoon for them. Since I only know they will show "after 1pm", I wait several hours and by then there's no point in calling the office since there won't be anyone there. I call on Friday morning and am told that they will look into what happened and call me back. <br /><br />On Tuesday morning, after having given them two full business days to call me back, I call them again. Once again, I am told they will look into it and call me back. Later that afternoon, the same installer that did the door and capping shows up at my house without notice. Luckily there was someone home. And his "fix"? Screw down the parts where it buckles! It buckles because it is too tight and there is no room for the aluminum to expand. Adding more screws will just make it buckle somewhere else! I don't know if this action by the installer was incompetence or laziness. <br /><br />I'm sick of dealing with this company. I was told four times someone would get back to me and nobody did. I wasted an afternoon off work waiting for them and no one showed when they said they would. I chose them even though their price was not the lowest because I was tired of dealing with companies that had no after-sales service and thought Dodds was different. If you need a garage door, just find someone cheaper because even if they have no after-sales service, at least you paid less to begin with. <br /><br /><br /><b>In response to the company response on Oct. 19, 2011:</b> I never received any phone calls, voice-mails or e-mails from anyone at Dodds to apologize for the problems.

Dodd's was fantastic - great service and a fantastic garage door. I love the new garage door - and get lots of compliments. Sales and service were efficient and very professional. I replaced an old, falling apart manual door with a beautiful electric carriage door. I'm still thrilled every day I look at it!

We are extremely pleased with our new garage door and garage door opener! From the sales associate (Allan) to the installation technician (Matt), everything was done professionally, efficiently and in a timely manner. Allan took the time to explain all our options to us and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much we can customize our selection. Matt showed up within the 2 hour time frame given. Kudos to Matt for an excellent installation!! We appreciated the time he spent with us after he installed to explain how to upkeep our new shiny doors. We have no qualms about recommending Dodd's to our friends and family. Thank you for a job well done!

We have dealt with Dodds on a few occasions now and have never been disappointed - we have always found them quick and efficient. Their level of service is outstanding. Today, the technician arrived promptly as promised and sorted out the problems quickly and efficiently even giving us a few hints for problem solving. He was professional and very pleasant to deal with - a pleasure indeed! I can recommend Dodds without hesitation

This is to provide some feedback on my experience with Dodd's. I am very pleased with the quality of the product, the door, hardware and opener. I am especially pleased with the installation. Matt, the technician, was very courteous and did an extremely good job. I do DIY myself and can recognize the high level of workmanship. He finished by explaining and demonstrating all the working elements and future maintenance. I will be pleased to recommend Dodd's to others. Thank You

I made calls and had quotes from several Garage door companies. Dodds was the last company I called, and did so because I have heard their ad on the radio so many times. Plus, they had such a high rating on HomeStars. I have to tell you, I was very very pleased. Allan Grant came to our home to provide the quote and he was great to deal with. The quote from Dodds was not the cheapest out of the 4 we received, but Allan Grant definitely gave us a good feeling about the company and the service they would provide. We ordered the doors and were told they would take approximately 2 weeks to come. To our surprise, they came in 1 week. The work was done 2 days ago, and our garage doors look fantastic. The guy who did the installation was fast, clean, efficient and friendly. He took the time to show my husband how things worked, and how to make adjustments if we needed to (my husband is a very hands-on kind of guy and wanted to know this). Lastly, we only had garage doors installed, and not a new opener. Allan let us know that even though our old opener was very old, that it was in great shape and still had many years left of life. I liked that he didn't try to upsell us something that was working fine. I would highly recommend Dodds - they did a great job.

Dealing with Dodds was professional , freindly and trusting from the first phone call to the door install itself. Sales staff was wonderful, install guy was just as professional and helpful. Dodds understands both a quality product and quality customer service. Good job ! Would definately use again.

I called Dodds Garage doors and ordered a new garage door. I had actually ordered the wrong door, and called them to change the color, even though it was the last day and my door had already arrived. The guys at Dodds Doors actualy took my new order and got me the colour that I wanted. Even though it was my fault, they came through and did an amazing job. After that incredible experience, I recommened Dodds services to my family. Since then, my family has purchased 4 garage doors, and two garage door openers. First thing in the morning my garage opener failed to open the garage door. Called in the morning, said I would be home after 2pm. 2pm spot on, repair man was here. He was able to promptly repair my opener. Exceptional service. Thank you. I am located in Burlington Ontario, Canada.
