    Garage door opener installation

    Purchased two garage door openers from Dodds. Salesman was knowledgeable and offered advice while taking into account my needs. Installer arrived on time, removed old openers, installed new openers and did maintenance on garage doors. Would use Dodds again and recommend them to others without hesitation.

    Repair of garage door

    I called Dodds Bc my door was not closing automatically. My call was handled in a very courteous manner. Technicians were sent to fix the door. They arrived as scheduled (!) and were knowledgable and polite. In fact, they informed me that my door did not need as much repair as I had thought and saved me money! Honesty is a rarity! Scott was the serviceman who arrived and he deserves credit for his honesty and his knowledge. I would 100% recommend this company to friends.

    Thank you very much for this great review. When dealing with DODDS you only pay for exactly what is needed. Unlike many other door companies the DODDS technicians are NOT paid commissions. Do not be fooled by companies that quote a low price on the phone and when their commission driven technician diagnosis non-existent problems the price suddenly shoots up. DODDS average invoice value is among the lowest in the G.T.A.

    Great experience

    Hiring Dodds Doors was a hassle free experience from beginning to end. I received professional and courteous service from the initial sales, to the customer service, and the final installation. A very well organized team at Dodds selling high quality garage doors.

    New garage door installed

    I had the garage door repaired by another company who after they completed the repair suggested that the door which was there since the home was built in 1964 was in poor condition including the rails, wheels etc. and said I would be wise to replace the door and the included parts. I wonder why they didn't tell me this before the $250.00 repair. I checked the internet and was very impressed with their web site. I called Dodds and because we were going away in two days Dodds had a salesperson there the next day. They installed the door in about a month and did a very professional job completing the install in about 4 hours. The installer was very friendly and really knew his job. He cleaned up the site upon completion and took away all the old parts and garage door. In the end I was completely satisfied with the work and the price and quality of the products used. THANKS DODDS.

    Incomplete job

    ***UPDATE!!!*** So the company called me today regarding my review. He was very abrupt and clearly not happy with what I had to say. He has not stated all the facts and needs to get his story straight. I have called my cell phone provider and there was NO call that was not recognized from my address book made to my cell phone (he claims they called and left a message). The lack of phone calls/communication is not what made me mad...it was the fact you charged my credit card without authorization when the job was INCOMPLETE. So saying they charge 5 days after install in a piece of crap because you charge prior to the job being completed!! I specifically said the the installer that I won't be charged till the job is completed and he assured me that is correct. Well...job was started on September 9th, completed Sept 29 but my credit card charge hit my card on Sept 14...not sure when Sept 14 is 5 days after Sept 29th. ***** So I had my garage doors installed by them...they couldn't finish the job as they needed to order parts...almost 3 weeks later and still waiting with false promises to show up to finish the job. They have taken 100% of the money off my card without authorization, as the job is incomplete, and now getting the run around about finishing the job. They have promised 2 times to show up and they haven't, plus they keep saying they called but they never called as I have caller ID and no number that is not someone I know called they days they claim to have called. Really poor service and would never recommend there service to anyone!! The guy who showed up the first time to install did a great job installing what he could....the second guy came and finished the job (finally) and did a great job...nothing bad about the installers...it's the office staff that dropped the ball. They won't take responsibility for what happened and keep telling me they did call when they didn't. If they can prove it by phone records then please do but I doubt that will happen! I don't like to ever write negative reviews but this time I feel as it was necessary to warn people about them taking all money before the job was complete! No one pays a contractor 100% when the job is not done.

    We regret that this client has chosen to write a negative review and wish to present all the WRITTEN facts as evidenced on our documentation. Our work order #214265 door was installed September 9, 2016 and installer wrote on work order "Smaller weather-strip needed (as) to wide for current capped wood strip". Client was advised that we would have to order this special weather-strip from the vendor. Installer wrote on work order "Paid via CC (credit card) on file " and immediately below this the client signed. For the record the Contract documents clearly states "If balance due is not paid within (5) days of installation date , Dodds reserves the right to use the credit card stated above to pay off the balance". Dispatch booked September 16 to go and install the weather-strip (no need for client to be home as work done on outside perimeter of the door) but unfortunately we had insufficient weather-strip to complete the job so client was called at 9:15 am on the home phone number and a message was left to say that we would have to reschedule. We called client again on the home number on September 19th at 7:05 am and client returned call at end of the day and advised us of her cell phone number. We booked September 29th and the weather-strip was duly installed.

    New Garage Door

    Based on their reviews I called Dodds for a price. Their estimator was very good. On time, friendly and straight forward. He gave us a couple of options/prices and when we decided on which option to go for, we called and confirmed. When the installer came, he was fantastic. Quick and efficient, and reconnected our existing GDO. We love our new door! The colour is perfect and it has already made a difference on our home's heat/A/C. Thank you Dodds!

    Garage door

    I had my garage door replaced in 2010, and I'm still satisfied with the quality. The installation was well done, and the garage itself operates well still. One note, the door handle to lift the garage did fall off (it broke). I did try to order another one from Dodds, but they mentioned that I would be charged $150 just to send out someone to take a look, then give me a door handle. I just opted to glue the handle back on. I wish this could have been resolved in a better way, or I hope they make better door handles now (not plastic). The seal around the garage door is also starting to fade into a yellow, but not sure if there's seals out there that wouldn't fade.

    Thank you for this review Raymond. Please note that the DODDS warranty is one year parts and labour. Since this door was purchased in 2010 it is now 6 years old so if any service work is required it would be a chargeable call.

    Garage Door Repair

    I had recently moved into a new construction home that was, to put it mildly, besieged with errors and poor quality worksmanship. One of the issues was the garage door, which had a snapped cable (on a new garage door!) so it wouldn't close and was stuck almost half-way open after only two uses. Dodds Garage Door was quick to respond, and had a person come out the next day to investigate. Art from Dodds Garage Door came by and quickly assessed the situation. He walked me through the various issues with the installation, and within 30 minutes had it fully functional. I highly recommend Dodds, and would easily call them again for future work. Cheers!

    Garage Door Opener Installation

    I called late yesterday for appointment and quote. Mike, the technician was here on time this morning. He installed two new garage door openers and serviced the door's moving parts in 2 hours. He was efficient and friendly and the price was competitive.

    Cable repair

    One cable broken on double garage door. Got immediate service and appointment was for the following day. A very nice and competent repairman arrived and ended up replacing both cables in about 15 minutes. As well, he greased all of the moving parts so our door is now super quiet. Well worth the money.
