As part of some upgrades to our home after living in it for about 13 years, we decided to replace the builder's cheap imitation garage doors -- thinner than a typical tin can and not insulated. Steve showed up about noon having been delayed by an accident on the 401 -- but Dodds called to let me know of the delay (much appreciated). I would describe Steve as pleasantly obsessive -- he was shocked by the installation flaws perpetrated by the Builder's contractors. The installation started with the efficient removal of everything but the vertical supports at the end of the tracks -- 2 regular size 8' x 7' doors were involved. As the new material was being unloaded and installed, I noted the much heavier and higher quality components, the effective internal weather seals on the door sections, etc. By 9:00 PM the installation was essentially completed, including hook-up of one existing opener and installation of a new one on the other door. In testing, a small "click" could be heard on one roller on the left door. An hour later the click was gone -- hard to diagnose and correct but Steve stuck with it until the installation met his standards and everything was cleaned up. A superb installation -- thanks to Dodds and Steve.

On time, on budget, and the door looks beautiful. Got the quote a few months before I went ahead with the work and they held their price. Very satisfied, would recommend them to anyone.

The door looks great and overall they did a great job. They scuffed up the brand new garage door opener they installed but did come to replace it immediately after I brought it to their attention and they could be more careful cleaning up as I found 9 wire staples all over my garage that would have easily pierced my tire.

UPDATE - April 28, 2016 After some back and forth, Dodds contacted me to advise they would reimburse the amount of the additional charges that are in question. We are happy with this decision. ________ We purchased a garage door from Dodds last August (downpayment) and had the door installed the other week when the house was ready in terms of renovations. When setting up the install appointment, we were advised to have 10 feet inside the garage cleared for the workers. We had our contractor go by the house and clear the necessary space inside the garage. (We do not live in the house - we are 80 kms from it.) On the day of install, we were contacted by Dodds advising they couldn't complete the job because a car was in the driveway 'blocking access to the garage' (even though the photos they sent clearly show the new panels inside the garage with at least 6 feet of access to the garage on either side of the car). Important to note – my issue is not with their inability to install a garage door with a car there. My issue is with their lack of communication. Had we been told we need to clear both interior AND exterior, we would have had the car moved as well. We were told only about the interior, hence why we only arranged for that. It’s safe to assume that had we known, we would have made sure there was whatever space they required outside the garage as well. In addition, we were not told there would be an additional charge of $270 for this. So, when the total amount charged to my credit card ended up being $1066.72 downpayment when it should have been $795.52, I was a bit taken back. So buyer beware. The door itself is fine – but their lack of communication just cost me $270+. Related: The owner has indicated in a different forum that the contract details this information about the requirements for install and the price. But I have never received nor signed a contract. I have an email from the salesperson from 2015 advising of the install price and a receipt that was left in the garage after the install. Multiple emails and voice calls to the company to get this contract have resulted in nothing.

My garage door was not working properly. A quick call to Dodd's, an appt booked, and within a week there was someone to fix the door. He came at the promised time, worked quickly with no upsell on other items. I was very happy with the work, time and cost.

Dodds FAR exceeded our expectations. The installers were pleasant and they really cared about their work. I even saw them wiping all the trim after completing the installation. The doors are of great quality, sealed perfectly and has made our house look richer.

I requested a visit for a quote and they responded the same day. The sales rep came in a couple of days and was very knowledgeable. The installer did a great job!

I was really impressed with the the service I recieved from Dodds! The serviceman Will arrived on time and was very proffessional. He showed me what was wrong with my garage door which parts needed to be replaced and which parts that were still working. I felt the price was more then fair for the service I recieved. I was nervous having a serviceman come to my home without my husband but Will made me feel very comfortable! I would highly recommend Dodds Garage Door Systems.

Dodd's provided great service from initial contact, sales, site visit for measurements, customer service, and installation. Every step of the process and product was explained clearly and Dodd's delivered as promised and on time. My house is old and the garage door needed to be a custom size, it was no problem for Dodd's. It looks and works great.
