    New garage Doors

    Went with lovely new carriage insulated doors. Salesman was very helpful, good install and a minor problem was corrected without hassle. Great job done by Dodds and I can highly recommend them.

    garage door opener

    We booked Dodd's to have our garage door opener replaced after we were given a few options over the phone. The serviceman arrived and after examining the old opener he told us that we could save some money and just have our garage door and hinges serviced as he thought the old opener was still in good working order. We still decided to replace the opener as we had it for quite a few years. The serviceman removed the old opener from the ceiling of our garage and after taking out the new one from the box, he noticed that the cord was too short to fit into the electrical outlet in the ceiling. He advised us that we would need to get a temporary extension cord to attach to the cord of the new unit, until an electrician could come and move the outlet closer to the opener. We were quite unhappy and called Dodd's to let them know what happened. The next day at 1pm, Dodd's sent in a service man who replaced the short cord on the new opener with a longer one which fit the electricl outlet in our high ceiling. Problem solved. We would recomment Dodd's to our friends and neighbours. They acted professionally and quickly to fix the problem we had, with no added expense.

    Garage door opener installation

    made the apt on thurs afternoon, they were here monday morning as promised, they very fast / efficient and very professional and helpful. I would recommend to anyone who needs this type of service

    New garage door installation

    Thanks to Dodds Doors we now have impressive new garage doors for our home. We searched around to find doors with the "real wood" look but we didn't want the maintenance wood demands. Dodds Doors found us a steel door that truly looks like wood. The doors have greatly improved the curbside appeal of our home and our neighbours can't stop complementing about how great the doors look. We searched around and found several garage door companies and selected Dodds because we found their product was excellent quality and their professionalism and service etiquette was superior. Thank you Lejandro, Roy, Angela and Stan for the quality service and delivery. We highly recommend you and would select you again and again.

    I have seen a photo of your door and it is hard to believe that it is not made of wood. The garage door in most homes can occupy as much as one third of the frontage so the right door can greatly enhance the curbside appeal of a home.     Garage door

    I built a “shed” (motorcycle garage/workshop) in my backyard. I wanted a garage door that did not look like a garage door. Dodds installed a steel door that looks like Oak double doors. The “shed” looks amazing, and the door makes it look like a little ranch house. The salesman Michael helped me make sure the opening was correct when I was building, and the installers and secretaries were a pleasure to work with.

    Adjusting mechanized doors and installing keypad

    John, a service rep for Dodds, is a master installer and a born teacher with great patience and the ability to give directions clearly. He just visited 2 homes in our family to make adjustments to our garage doors. My husband and I followed him around with pen and paper, and we were given simple, point form lessons on how to troubleshoot and operate our doors when minor problems occur. To find such superb customer service is a rarity. I am not surprised to hear from Dodds that John trains their new employees. A company is only as good as its follow-up customer service. Dodds is indeed fortunate to have such a sterling employee. And we were fortunate to get him! Another benefit to us was that there was a wire that had been shorting out in the mechanism in one of the doors. We were delighted that the charge for one of the service calls was cancelled. Our family now has 3 garage doors running perfectly. Thank you Dodds.

    Garage door installation

    Update #2: Dodd's came back last week and undertook the repairs as promised. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work in the repair and the personal attention I received from the owner Len Dubowitz to rectify what was initially a poor experience in after sales service. I upgraded the score to a 9 and if I had not had to escalate this over a number of months, they would have got a perfect score. Update # 1: This review published above certainly got the attention of the owner Len. He immediately acknowledged that they dropped the ball, made no excuses and has offered to fix the caulking problem as soon as the weather permits. He also offered to fix the aluminum cap at no charge where I damaged it with my car. That was completely my fault and I expected to pay for that but Len graciously insisted on picking up the tab given the problems we have had over the last four months. On that basis, I have upgraded my rating. When the job is finally done, I expect to upgrade it again because overall the product is very good and the sales service was very good as well. Lovely garage doors. Good sales service. After care service has been horrible. I have called Stan in the service department for almost 4 months to redo a badly executed caulking job around the aluminum cap on the garage door frame. He has promised to come by personally numerous times and to call me back. In spite of two e-mails with photo evidence of the poor job and now 7 conversations with Stan, he has not shown up in spite of repeated reassurances from him to do so.

    We certainly dropped the ball with this client and admit that his complaint is accurate and justified. We have since been in touch with him to apologize and make arrangements to go back and redo the caulking when the weather permits. We try very hard to get it right every time but there are those rare occasions when a staff member does not and we would encourage anyone having a similar experience to please refer the matter to higher authority and to speak to either Allan our Executive VP or the President Len before posting a harsh review on the world wide web.

    Garage Door

    Before I write this review I must state that I am in no way related to or part of the Dodds Door Company in any way. Needing a new garage door for the first time and fairly new to TO. I really did not know where to go. I started with the big box stores but was concerned with the quality. While looking into garage doors on the internet out of nowhere popped up Dodds Doors, no offence to anyone at Dodds but a name I had never heard of. Being the type of person who does not like a never ending quest for anything I want to purchase, I called Dodds immediately. The initial person i spoke to was aware of everything that had to do with garage doors, initially i was hoping he was going to be the person who would come to my house but that did not happen. The next day a gentleman called Michael Saiet came to my house and i immediately found that he was very knowledgable about the subject at hand...v ery interested and motivated to do the right thing for me. I wanted to get a 7 foot garage door out of necessity, my old garage door was 6 foot 6 inches and that did not give us the ability to park our business vehicle in the garage (big truck) however I would have to do some minor preliminery work. Not knowing what kind of door to pick Michael looked at the house and came up with a couple of suggestions one of which I picked and am very happy with. I have been around for awhile and have dealt with my share of contractors who make promises and in the end they are never kept. As I recently told a friend of mine Dodds Doors was one of the few experiences I have had in my life where what was promised was definately delivered. The sales associate was a 10 out of 10 Installers were a 10 out of 10. A few touch ups were required but dealt with promptly by the company. My advice to anyone needing a quality garage door ... do not make a decision before contacting Dodds Doors and speaking with Michael Saiet. Wayne Scott Toronto Ontario

    Garage Door and Key Pad

    Good afternoon John Paul, This email is to let you know about one of your customer service reps, whose name is Angela. We bought a garage door from you early in the new year and we kept having issues with the door not opening; and Angela worked them out very quickly. She had someone at our house to fix the problem right away. We were also looking for a keypad and Angela went the extra mile and personally delivered it to our house.     maintenance of garage door

    Dodds performed a maintenance service call: as they do every 2 or 3 years. They called to confirm the appointment and the serviceman was there right on time. The servicemen, Art, was thorough, polite, and very professional. He explained everything he did before performing the task. Thank you
