    Replace partial pipe outside due to tree roots

    My basement drain backed up with sewage. Drainworks came and gave a detailed quote. Things happened as they were supposed to and there were no surprises. I would recommend them again. All that said, I find the services very costly. Of course, most home owners would want to know what has caused a back up and would need to use the camera option. I feel that this is an easy way to add $200.00 to the bill for Drainworks. It's like the owner has no choice and the bill automatically ends up in the $400.00 range. You should consider removing the cost of the camera from the job should the owner decide to go ahead with hiring Drainworks to fix the problem.

We did give you a discount on the camera because we did the snaking at the same time. The service of a snake and camera is separate from any excavation work that may be required. As such they are written up separately and are individually fully chargeable. At DrainWorks we are honest and upfront, we will not pretend to remove the cost of a camera as bait to get you to agree to an excavation and then tack the charge on to the additional work without you knowing.     drain work

    Flood in basement on the night of the last storm, urgent call to Drainworks, Jeremey there that night to assess the trouble and complete a temporary fix, Lou, Vascilli and crew there for 2 days - left everything neat and tidy both days, then Jeremey back for final check. Capable people, good service.

    Plumbing - basement drain

    Following a big storm, my carpeted basement floor was saturated with water. I called two companies for quotes - one was DrainWorks. The first to come spent almost no time investigating, refused to use the camera to look in the drains, and said I would have to do a $16,000 weeping tile replacement. Their representative was condescending and brusque. The next day, Lou from DrainWorks came to my home. He spent about an hour thoroughly inspecting the basement from inside and out. He camera-inspected the pipes from two different entry points, and spent a lot of time educating me about how my pipes are laid out and what the different parts of the system are for. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional - not to mention patient with the several small children who interrupted us throughout the process! He diagnosed a cracked and debris-filled P-trap under my basement floor drain. He clearly outlined his proposed fix for the problem, making sure that I understood everything along the way. He discussed with me some other options that I had in a no-pressure way; we agreed that we would solve the P-trap problem first, then see whether any other repairs were necessary. After my husband and I cleared the area, he and his crew returned (two days later). Again they were prompt - a few minutes early, actually. They worked quickly and cleanly, stopping a few times to show me how the work was progressing and to seek my approval whenever a decision had to be made. They finished up the work in 4 hours and cleaned up completely after they were done, closing with a final camera inspection to show me the completed work. I think the fact that DrainWorks plumbers are salaried rather than paid on commission makes a huge difference in how they deal with clients. I never felt pressured or up-sold - rather, they took the time to teach as well as to fix the problems. I would recommend them 100%. I also like their commitment to donate a portion of their proceeds to the SickKids Foundation.

    replacement of water/sewer pipes

    A crew of men worked efficiently and diligently to complete the job in as little time as possible. I was impressed that the inside floors were covered and the men wore bootees. Everything was carefully explained to me and my questions answered. They were even accommodating when I changed my mind about part of the work. The work area both inside and out was left clean and neat. The last man left my house sweeping up as he went.

    This is my second time having Drainworks solve a plumbing issue in our home. They are courteous, neat and prompt. I definitely would recommend Drainworks and will call them again.

    Bathroom repairs

    From the first phone call seeking information to completion of work everyone was very professional. Drainworks schedules appointments and makes a confirmation call the evening before work is to begin. Service is explained, questions are answered in detail and a written warranty is provided. Every worker I have encountered either in person or on the phone is professional and responsive to questions. I have used Drainworks several times and continue to be impressed with their attention to leaving the work area spotless.

    Plumbing

    The whole experience went without any bumps in the road. The service was extremely informative and explained in clear terms exactly what he was doing. The total job was performed right on schedule and kept my house as clean as it was before they showed up. If you need a plumber I would highly recommend Drainworks.

    Basement backup

    Drainworks has customer service right from the moment you call in to the delivery of the invoice. Courteous and efficient. They were an hour over their initial quoted time, but all was good and well executed.

    new pipes and bathroom sink

    Chris arrived when i was told he would be there. He was polite, clear, with a written estimate. We also got a seniors discount. The work was done the same day. He cleaned up afterward

    Tree roots causing back up issues

    Initially had problems with the Kitchen sink backing up. I called on a Saturday afternoon and Drainworks had a technician at my place first thing the next morning. The technician (Jeremy) was professional, polite, and prepared. After explaining what I was experiencing with the sink and prior to starting any service (or fees, Jeremy explained his first approach (snaking the line) and why and the costs associated. This was very effective and I haven't had any issues since. A few weeks later and 10 minutes prior to leaving on an overnight business trip, the toilet in my powder room on the main flow started leaking water. I called Drainworks immediately and arranged to have a technician come to my home the next day when I returned from the trip. I pulled into my driveway right at the scheduled time and the Drainworks technician was already there (Jeremy). After reviewing the situation and showing me the video of the pipes extending from the house to the street I learned that tree roots had invaded the pipes and were causing the problems. As my house was built in 1904 the vast majority of the pipes are still clay and Jeremy indicated that I will likely have to have some significant plumbing work done in time. However, he did mention that a lower cost option ($1000 vs. $8,000-$12,000) would be to Hydro flush the lines and that should provide another 2-3 years before having to revisit the much larger project of replacement. The hydro flushing was scheduled a week later. As promised, 24 hours prior to the hydro flushing I received a call informing me exactly what time I could expect the team the next day. True to form, they arrived exactly at the time indicated. I was kept in the loop about everything they were doing. They provided excellent explainations of the problems and solutions. In addition, every time they had to come in to my home they were very respectful and without being asked they wore shoe protectors. Finally, prior to leaving they ran video cable down the pipes to allow me to see the result of the hydro flush (truly excellent!). Lou Spada and his colleague from Drainworks also helped answer some questions I had about another project in my home and were very forthright about what they thought could be done. I am always appreciative when people are mindful of not over-promising and then under-delivering. Thanks guys! I would highly recommend Drainworks. Kudo's to them on the hiring front!
