Hi Steve. We are glad that you posted this review so that we may expand on it and shed some light on the situation. On September 8th at 3pm our technician arrived on time at your home to assess an issue that you described as a slow draining main floor toilet as a result of your son flushing a toy truck in it. While our technician was on site, he uninstalled the main floor toilet, removed the toy from the underside of the toilet, reinstalled the toilet with a new gasket and on top of that augured the toilet. Our technician spent 1 ½ hours at your home completing these repairs and charged $244 + GST. The technician flush tested the toilet with you present to confirm your satisfaction of the now functioning toilet. Directly following this confirmation of completion, you proceeded to pay the amount in full and signed the invoice. You state in your review that, “The flush was less powerful than before my son sent the toy down”, but then that raises the question; why would you pay and sign for a job you were not satisfied with? Based on your actions, you must have felt the job was completed, it is illogical to assume otherwise. You also mention that you should “never pay and let him or her leave without having THREE flushes go down successfully, WITH a wad of toilet paper each flush.”, but then that raises the question; If the toilet plugs on the fourth or fifth flush, are we still responsible? At some point you as the consumer must be held accountable for claiming satisfaction by paying and signing for work completed at your home, especially when it addressed the objective of our visit. It is true that you called back later in the same evening of September 8th claiming that the toilet was slow draining again. Our response was to send the technician back over to investigate further with a camera inspection, which we offered at a discounted rate, to inspect any additional concerns. You chose not to take advantage of our offer so to be “relieved of another $250”. You expected extra work to be performed for free. Why would further work above and beyond what we were originally called out to perform be free? Fourteen days later, you called our office to state that you paid a different company $140 + GST for a plunging that took 20 minutes, and you expected a refund from us of $140 + GST. In our opinion, a plunging is not a solution. There are obviously issues with your toilet that you do not care to address, hence the illogical 14 day wait with a non functioning toilet. We would have gladly come out to address the additional concerns, but you chose to pay another company instead of us, a company who you describe in an additional review on this website as being 4 hours late with no phone call and who left your home dirty. Furthermore, when you requested the refund from us, you threatened to write this negative review if we did not oblige, and we are glad you did as DrainWorks has nothing to hide. We are strong believers in honesty and truth, which in this situation is that you wanted further work for free and gave us a bad review for not surrendering to your threats. The true proof of our service shines through the other 274 unbiased reviews on this site from people who beg to differ with you.
