Kitchen & Bathroom Faucet Replacement - Overpriced

We have used Drainworks before so knew that while they are reliable and professional and a well-respected brand, you pay for the privilege and convenience. However, they charge you for the visit and to provide the quote so once they are in your home, you feel obligated to use them. Plus who wants to go through to hassle of finding another plumber and scheduling another day for the work to be done. The absolutely outrageous cost for the replacement of one kitchen faucet and one bathroom faucet was nearly $1K - and that's labour only! Based on previous experiences with them this is a huge price increase. We will never use or recommend them again.

**TrixieBelle** We have nothing in our system that relates to this review and the pricing you indicate is not at all close to our rates. If you are certain you called DrainWorks, please call our office so that perhaps we can get more details and clarify things.

Replacement of main floor toilet with disposal of old toilet

I called Drainworks in the morning asking for Chris, as he done work for us before. Within a short time, Chris arrives to inspect the problem. He gave a quick and accurate assessment and provided us with quotes for installing a new washroom. He was professional, extremely knowledgable and finish the installation quickly. I would recommend Chris and DrainWorks to anyone thinking of doing any sort of plumbing for their home.

    Installation of Back Water Valve

Amazing job! Before they started the they ensured the basement work area was sectioned off with plastic wrap (floor to ceiling) and covered the staircase and floor with plastic mats. Job completed in 3 days and that includes city inspection. I believe that they left the basement cleaner than before they started. My bad.

One of the bathroom tap upstairs was dripping continuously. The guy from drainworks came on time and asked questions. He checked the damage out and gave advise on the options available. We opted to replace the tap. The work was done well and guy was professional

Basement Waterproofing & Main Drain Replacement

After a week of rain, my basement was wet and the sewer was backing out. I called Drainworks about the sewage back up. The technician came out the next day and, using his snake camera, found tree roots in the pipe leading to the city sewage pipe. The pipe was replaced. When I asked about the water in my basement, the technician suggested different ways to correct the problem at various price points. I chose to waterproof the outside of the wall by trenching down and replacing the 60 year old weeping tile. All work was completed with care to protect my interior and my foundation plants. The workers were friendly and wasted no time on the job. I was consulted on all aspects of the job and asked to inspect all the work while in progress and after it was finished. I am totally satisfied with the quality of the work and the way my plants were replanted. It is raining as I write this and my basement remains dry and my waste water is flowing out to the city with no backup.

    Fixed underground plumbing

Fixed all the plumbing in the basement and also showed us where the problem was via snake camera Really helpful. The plumber before screwed up and ended up blocking the path to the city sewerage. Drain works showed us what we can do for the future and do annual checks with them for reassurance.

Replacement of drainage pipe in basement

Our old (30+ years) drainpipe was backing up and we thought it might be blocked. Drainworks came out the next day, and removed a blockage, but explained that they could not get very far into the pipe because it was old cast iron and probably starting to rust away. They offered a good, cost effective proposal to replace the worst part of the pipe, which would also allow them to check out the rest of the pipe. They returned to do this work in less than a week, and worked very hard to complete it all in one day to avoid inconveniencing us. The crew were prompt, friendly, professional, and explained everything very well. When the drainpipr did not go in the direction we thought it did, they helped to move more furniture to get at the pipe. It was a huge, very messy job digging up our concrete basement floor, but they did a wonderful job cleaning it up at the end. I recommend Drainworks highly.

Very expensive and oversell needed repairs

We first used this company for an emergency toilet repair. They came the next day, fixed the blockage quickly and the bill was less than $150. They tried really hard to convince us to pay to have the drains scoped but since they had been done a few years ago and the City had just replaced their line we declined. About one year later when we had a leak somewhere in the basement (we thought the washer) we called them again. $289 just for the visit. The plumber couldn't find the problem in the washer and again suggested scoping, for a fee that might rise up to $700. He changed the intake hoses but that didn't fix the problem. He went through the whole house filling up every sink, checking out the dishwasher, all the toilets and now we had a list of needed major repairs that he quoted at from $1,500-3,000. One toilet he said needed replacing (turns out it needed one part). We thanked him and sent him on his way. The main problem was the washing machine which another company fixed. Our drains are fine and the other "major repairs" resulted in some small parts, all for under $300. So Drainworks is polite, they do come when promised but we left with the experience of being gouged. we have a great individual plumber now.

**Careful Shopper** Thank you for your feedback. As we don’t repair appliances, our visit would have been to investigate your homes plumbing at an agreed upon price as a process of elimination, and report to you our findings. If our recommendations did not suit your needs, that’s fine, but it does not mean they were inaccurate. There are many different levels of service out there and the pricing for our services is in line with industry standards, however; the prices you list in your review do not add up to what we charge. For example, upwards of $700 for a scoping isn’t even remotely close to our charges. Please feel free to call our office for any clarification.

    Trap and Breather replacement

One of our ridiculous children put a stick down our old breather system without our knowledge. We noticed that our basement bathroom toilet wasn't flushing properly and tried to snake it out to no avail, so we knew it was time to call in the professionals. We've hired DrainWorks a few times in the past to unfreeze our pipes in the winter with good results. Armando arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem, explained what needed to be done and why. We agreed to have the work done the following day. Armando's team dug a deep hole and Armando replaced our old trap and breather system and some of our old clay pipes. The work took a few hours and they charged the agreed upon price - there were no hidden fees. Armando also went through a detailed overview of the rest of the plumbing in our house - described what should be replaced down the road etc. It was very informative and all has been well with our drainage since then. Thanks!
