My neighbour and I both suffered sewage back up in our basements during a particular stormy weekend in Toronto. I telephoned Drainworks & spoke with "William" who immediately reassured me, agreed to do his best to find me a technician to come tonight. He called me back within 30 minutes and promised a technician would come same day btw 7-9:30 p.m. Jeremy Harris came at 2 mins past 7. He quickly listened to my story, asked direct, succinct questions & set to work diagnosing my problem. He was quick, clean and spoke in lay language. He came up with a solution and executed. I found him to be timely, pleasant, polite and helpful. His invoice will help me recover from the City since it apparently was its problem, not mine! I would rely upon Jeremy again.

We had a sewage back-up in my basement bathroom - what a mess! The guys from Drainworks plumbing came, removed the toilet, and put a camera in the pipe. They found that about a foot of the clay pipe was broken. They gave me a detailed quote with an exact price. When the guys came to do the work, they were professional, clean, and answered all of my questions. They put plastic on the stairs and hung plastic around the "job site" so that everything else would stay clean. I told them I only had one box of extra tiles so they we very careful not to break any extra tiles so that we wouldn't have to replace the whole floor. They showed me the pipe and explained that roots had penetrated and broken it. They replaced about 5 feet of pipe to make sure they got all the broken parts, and put the cement back like new. They cleaned up after themselves and didn’t even leave any dust! At the end of the job, Armando came with the camera again and not only showed me the pipe they had replaced, but all my accessible drains as well. I was VERY impressed with Drainworks, will definitely call them in the future if I ever need a plumber, and have already recommended them to friends and co-workers. They gave me the best price, didn't charge me any extra, and made sure I was happy with the work. Thanks Armando, Frank and Misha - what a fantastic job!! Drainworks provided prompt, effective, and professional service. They did their best to complete the work with as little disruption/damage and mess to my home and life as possible. Armando was very helpful in explaining the nature of the problem, our options in repair and the follow-up work that I needed to pursue with the city.

After moving to our new house, 3 DAYS LATER the main drain backed up. I called 6 plumbers (drainworks was the last), and they were the first to respond, so i went with them. The whole experience, Jeremy coming and sticking a camera down to see what the problem was, Lou with the repair work and hydroblast - all of it was done professionally and with excellent customer service. I didn't get another quote - couldn't be bothered - these guys impressed me enough that i just went with them and trusted it...so far so good!

When they started the drain replacement the following day, they were on time and very tidy. The crew of 5 people worked very hard and were very polite, they pulled in a new drain and a new water service. When they left, they did not leave behind any evidence that a major job had been completed. The house and front lawn was as clean a when they arrived and we are very fussy customers!! We just had DrainWorks replace the sewer breather for us. We were so so impressed with their service - from the point of the initial call to the final inspection by Jeremy. I placed a call to their office. Within a couple of hours, we had one of their drain technicians (Jeremy) at our house. The guy was very professional and detailed. We felt very comfortable with Jeremy and he seemed to know what he was talking about, so we hired them and he committed to have a team at our house the following day at 8am. The following day, the DrainWorks team was at our house at 7:45am. Then the supervisor, Lou, came in just after that, around 7:50am. Before starting the excavating process, Lou suggested that we remove some of the plants around so their excavating team does not detroy them. I was not happy with that but Lou insisting on doing something to protect the plans from the soil - So we use some boards as a shield below the tarp. I really didn't think there was a need for it but I was very thankful that Lou and his team insisted on protecting the front pad and plants as there was a lot of soil out of the 9+ feet hole that was dug out. Naz and his team, 2 older gentlemen, were very pleasant, amazingly hard workers and they knew their jobs well. The team finished replacing the pipes just after noon. At that time, Lou came back to do an inspection and put a camera through the pipes to make sure all is workign well. Lou was very thorough and was very helpful in explaining how the condition of the remaining of the pipes around the house are. I was very thankful for all the information. Once we were given a clean bill of health from Lou, he gave his team the go ahead to fill the hole. In an hour, all was done and the team cleaned everything up and left. Great job. Then later around 4:30pm, Jeremy came back for another inpsection. Man, these guys are great. He did another camera inspection. He found drains in the basement that I didn't even know existed. I guess I need to know my house a little better. Anyways, Jeremy went through the condition of the pipes with me, got his final payment and left. Great experience. Service from everyone was very good, including the phone staff. Jeremy was exceptional. Took time to explain problems and options, ensured work was completed well, went over and above (checked drains other than the problem one, snaked to ensure no further problems), very professional. Staff arrived when they said they would (or earlier), very pleasant to deal with, did what they said they would do, left everything very neat and clean. Would definitely recommend, and would use them again.

We had a sewage backup in our basement, and I phoned DrainWorks the next morning. They were on site within two hours, and their representative, Mike, was friendly, helpful and did a great job explaining the problem: that tree roots had most likely infiltrated the original clay drain pipe that ran from our house to the city sewer. While they ended up having to dig two holes over two days to replace the old pipes after they determined there were blockages in two separate areas, their quote for each job was completely accurate. DrainWorks also took responsibility for calling a City of Toronto inspector to the site so that we could qualify for a tree-root rebate. The company finished the entire job over two days, with supervisors returning regularly to check the progress. A couple of days following completion of the work, Mike and his colleague, Eric, came back to do a thorough inspection of the new pipes, along with the older ones serving the rest of the house, using a small TV camera. I was able to view everything on a portable monitor so I could see for myself that everything was working OK and that the blockage had been cleared. I would definitely phone them again.

I had a terrible sewer odour in my house when it rained. Jeremy came over on the Sunday of the long weekend and spent almost 3 hours fixing the problem. He was professional, courteous and very helpful throughout. Thanks Drainworks and thanks Jeremy!
