Smell of sewage emanating from our washroom and laundry room

We've used Drainworks before, always satisfied with their service. Not cheap, but worth the price for peace of mind. Once again they did things quickly and efficiently, and communicated things clearly to us. We will continue to use them and recommend them.

    Burst outside faucet

Let me first say, we found DrainWorks on Homestars. After making the appointment, the office called to let me know the plumber was on his way and would be there in about 15 minutes. He showed up right on schedule. He was able to diagnose the burst pipe I originally called about, was an outside frost free valve that had gotten wrecked by ice this past winter. Being new to this type of an outside valve, he explained to me how the frost free valve works and what I need to do each fall to maintain it. He also recommended adding a shut off on the inside as an extra precaution so the new frost free valve won't burst again. He was very professional in his explanations and recommendations, never pressuring me into unnecessary upgrades. After I made the original appointment I also found out that the plastic extension piping leading from the outdoor faucet to the deck had burst over the winter. He recommended installing a new outdoor faucet at the back of the house to eliminate the plastic piping the previous homeowner had installed. He was able to install this new faucet during the same visit. There were no hidden costs in his quote, he showed me his pricing structure up front for both my original request and the new faucet, so I knew exactly how much it was going to cost. Thank you DrainWorks for your very professional service.

Plugged up Toilet and Shower Drain

Basement toilet and shower got plugged up on a Sunday. I called Drainworks at 1:30 pm and the technician, Matt, was at my house just two hours later. He was very professional, courteous and completely thorough. Even the folks on the phone at DrainWorks were great. Deinitely a two thumbs up experience.

    bathtub faucet stem

Drainworks was fast and efficient, but after an initial estimate that was surreal ($300 to re-attach a faucet) it went from bad to worse. Almost $500 later to place a $2 valve I was in shock. The plumber was great and nice and smart, but his company's billing rules were just short of mercenary. I will only call in an absolute disaster. the idea that I was paying a premium because all the parts were on the truck was also not true and I paid another $150 for the plumber to go and buy a part. Great plumber, scary business model. Hire a local and then donate $500 to charity in lieu of calling Drainworks is my advice.

    Answer from pro:

**Thanks Eric** We would like to shed some light on the service that took place at your home. The cost was $418, we do not keep tax, plus we subtracted the $69 assessment fee from the cost of the job, which you agreed to pay when booking the appointment. Our licensed and insured plumber, whom you yourself refer to as fast, efficient, great, nice, and smart was working on your repair for 2 1/4 hours. Considering the time spent and that the parts were included in the price, this is a very reasonable rate in line with industry standards. The only reason the initial estimate changed was because we were working with the parts you supplied which you tried to install yourself, but they proved to be damaged and could not be used. The alternate would have been to tell you the parts you had were damaged and leave; but rather than leaving you without water, we offered to source the parts for you and made you aware before doing so that there would be a cost incurred, all in an effort to get your water back on. You agreed. We did not put you in a situation where you had no water and then forced you to proceed with our repair. Rather your attempts at DIY left you with no water and you required a plumber for a solution. We did just what you asked for and only after receiving your approval to do so.

Install new drain, including breaking and renewing concrete

Excellent explanation and diagnosis by Mike Dunn and Eric. Good work by Misha and his helper. Skilled, efficient job, good dust shielding and cleanup. Duzha dobra! I felt a bit sorry for the young guy breaking up the concrete without ear protectors. He has his whole life ahead and his employer should insist on preserving his hearing.

    Answer from pro:

**Thanks B&D** We appreciate your feedback and value your input. We agree that hearing is precious and that’s why all employees arrive to the work site fully equipped with the necessary tools and equipment. It is odd if they weren’t used. We do thank you for choosing DrainWorks and we look forward to being the plumbing and drain service providers you can rely on should you require our assistance again in the future.

    Blocked sewer pipe

I was impressed with the speed of the on-site response. They guys were clean, in uniform, put booties on in my house, and found and corrected the problem quickly. The overall repair (dig up and replace the broken pipe with root infiltration) was done the next day and performed very professionally. The only down side is I'm out $2k. :(

    blocked pipe

My basement toilet started to leak out onto the floor. I was told and shown the roots glogging the pipe. Lou and his assistant Matthew brought state of the art equipment and within a few hours had cleaned the pipe line from my basement out to the city street. They were courteous and informative making sure I understood every step of the process involved.
