We highly recommend Hickory Dickory Decks Scarborough. From start to finish, this was a very positive experience. Geoff Aucoin, the main owner/sales person is very knowledgeable about decks and has high business ethics. We decided to go with a low maintenance Solstice PVC deck with aluminum railing and no visible wood. Ibrahim and his crew did an excellent job of constructing our new deck, were always very friendly and accommodating, and tidied up properly after the work. Our new deck looks great plus we feel we got excellent value for our money.

We recently contracted with Hickry Dickory Decks to build our new deck. The project was significant and took a great deal of time to plan and Geoff was instrumental in assisting with the design and the right materials for what we wanted. The crews showed up as planned and completed our job start to finish as planned despite changes that were made along the way. Professional, courteous, considerate and on time, what more could you ask for in a contactor? Weare very pleased and would highly recommend them.

We can highly recommend Ibrahim and his HDD crew. The company created our front deck 9 years ago and visitors are always admiring it. Last fall we finally decided to replace our back cedar deck and the project was undertaken late in the year. The crew did a great job. Now with the weather warming up and when the sun shines, we have been thrilled to sit out on this beautiful, strong new deck. The craftsmanship of it is terrific. Neighbours have come by to inspect and admire. We are looking forward to many years of enjoyment and entertainment on this deck.

I love my new deck! They are very professional and friendly. They were very helpful in the design process and were very flexible to my minor changes in the plans even after the deck was started. eg add some stairs, or railings and they even build benches and planters.

Very pleased with the final outcome of our deck. As a home owner it is a good idea to be there as things are progressing along to insure things are as you expect.

We had our composite deck designed and installed by the crew at Hickory Dickory Decks. Their knowledge on their products is amazing. The crew that did the job was professional, friendly and skilled in their trade. The final result was so impressive 3 neighbours ended up getting their decks done by them too!

We removed our old decks and hired Hickory Dickory Decks to install a new two level deck using artificial (plastic) wood. It is a very large deck that stretches the entire width of house. (approx 35 feet) We were very impressed with the questionaire and thorough ordering process. Adam Malley did a great job to walk us through the pricing process & gave us the opportunity to review previous projects and talk to previous clients. The installer did an amazing job. He was very quick and worked long days. The finished product was very impressive. He kept the worksite clean at the end of each day. He even took the time to fix our broken gate.

Hickory Dickory Decks does not complete the work. They failed to build our deck according to building codes says our town building inspector. They failed to call the inspector after the work was completed to have it inspected. Now a few years later the town is after us to made changes to it. Hickory Dickory Decks is ignoring us and says it is their contractors who are not in business anymore. The warranty is with them not Hickory Dickory Decks. Buyer beware, they push off these matters to their employees or contractors. My contact is with them. I don't care who they hire to work for them. They are now ignoring phone calls and my emails to them. I see other complaints registered with the BBB and I've done the same. Next step is small claims court. UPDATE:March 22 2012 YOU applied to the Town of Aurora for a work permit and YOU did NOT call and close it after the work was done. If you did, they would have been here to inspect it. The permit is under your name and the work is under your company name. Hickory Dickory Decks is "a franchise system and the deck was built by a franchisee that is no longer in business" So what your really telling customers is that others can use your name, you apply for construction permits but don't stand behind the work. Just blame it on a franchisee. Wow, I'm sure this will make other feel much better about dealing with your company. Great way to wash your hands of any problems.

With the many deck companies out there it is very hard to decide who to trust with your project. We went with Hickory Dickory Decks because the price was fair and they came recommended. The service and workmanship was outstanding.

John and his crew were terrific. They were very accommodating, and did a top-notch job. We definitely got our money's worth. Our deck is looking beautiful after a year, and we still call John for all kinds of jobs. They did a great job with several doors around our basement. Highly recommended!
