I heard about Hickory Dickory Decks from the Brock Windows contractor who highly recommended this company to us. Based on that, last year I called Adam for a quote who listened to what we needed and gave us two different designs. We picked one and asked for a few changes. The cost is within our budget. Although in the beginning there was a misunderstanding in the specs, Adam was willing to work with us to resolve the issue. Matt and Devin were professional and courteous. They arrived and started early in the days. My neighbors complimented that they were very nice people. The final work was nothing less than perfect and was exactly what we wanted. This shows that they not only treat their projects as work but put their hearts into them as well. We were very please with the workmanship. As a result, this year when we built the walkway and new steps to the backyard and deck, we asked Adam to build a new gate and fence and coverings for the two pillars in the porch for us. We coordinated with them and the other contractors. The result was another beautiful work. We are very glad to let his prospective clients to see our deck as they deserve having more business coming their way. Thank you Adam and Matt.

I visited the Hickory Dickory Decks and had a nice man come to our house and measure and help us with ideas for a new deck. He was very helpful and friendly! The showroom in Waterdown is amazing too! They have a large building with decks for you to look at and get neat ideas for your deck.

HDD was on time, on budget, came when they said they would, did a fabulous job. The deck will likely outlast the house.They worked wit us to design just what we wanted, and did not complain about all the changes we asked for.Would absolutely recommend.

They were very patient & accommodating with changes to our design and they were also helpful in suggesting solutions that met our needs.I would recommend both the East and West crews.

We just want to say thanks to Ibrahim and Jeff of Hickory-Dickory Decks for their design work, honesty and patience in working with us. They designed a stand-alone deck for our above-ground pool. They were great in working through 3 or 4 various designs with us as we worked toward a budget and design that was affordable and met our needs. We also want to thank Tom for the actual deck work. He was friendly, answered questions and did a great job. He was on-site for 3 or 4 days working independently. After getting your information from the International Home Show, you contacted me quickly and things got going very quickly. I was impressed with the deck you designed you created according to my wishes, and any changed I requested, you took without any problems. You were very informative and I was pleased to getting the job started with your company. When the work began, Ibrahim and Jesse, were both very courteous and friendly. Their job was impeccable each and every day. Each day, they arrived at the time specified the previous day and worked the entire day. I was impressed with their cleanliness as they always made sure to clean the back yard prior to leaving each day. Their work to detail was quite extraordinary and it showed in the end result of the deck. Their workmanship and work ethic showed each day and I was immensely satisfied. I looked forward to having Ibrahim and Jesse come each day and was excited seeing the deck taking shape. From start to finish, the whole process was as we hoped for. My wife and I are very satisfied with the end result. The process was not complicated, it began with a site visit and discussion of what we wanted. Geoff Aucoin (owner) provided a drawing, his crew (not outsourced)arrived on time, built the deck to specifications (which exceeded minimum code)and the finished product looks great! They will be at the top of the list when we go forward on the next deck project.

John Whitehead and his crew are fantastic guys and did a great job on building my deck in North York. It's not a huge deck but is on two levels/storeys joined by stairs. John's quote was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. John was very responsive to my request for a quote and came to my house at times that were convenient for me. His quote was very detailed and outlined the measurements, type of material everywhere (from PT structure, cedar skirting and rails, composite deck boards, etc.) Most of the other quotes did not go into that level of detail. The quote also came with diagrams along with measurements so there were no surprises - a nice touch especially considering no one else's quote provided me with that level of information and detail. Lastly, when John himself came by, each time he was super respectful to me, my home (taking off his shoes when entering) and family. He takes the time, even during the quote process to explain exactly what they were going to, that the grass was likely to get damaged, the garbage and dirt for first while, etc so there were absolutely no surprises when they started to the end. His crew came in the mornings and left late in the afternoons. I never once needed to be home, although I would come home from work earlier just to watch the construction of my new deck. I would highly recommend John Whitehead and his skilled carpenters anytime to anyone. The finishing touches are excellent and despite the very small premium compared to other quotes, you get complete ease of mind, a responsive contractor, detailed quote and backed by a quality brand parent company (Hickory Dickory deck) and warranty. Why would you consider choosing someone else? Just give John a call and you will see.

From the initial consultation through to completion, Geoff provided great suggestions and continued follow up. When there were some timing challenges, they were resolved promptly. The end result is great and the craftsmanship was excellent. I would definately recommend them.

My husband and I are very happy with the deck that Hickory Dickory Decks built for us. Geoff our salesman was very pleasant to work with and helped us make decisions on the design. Even though we changed the design many times, he never made us feel rushed and told us not to worry about how long it took to come to a decision. The deck is extremely well constructed and we are very pleased with the workmanship. We did have some design issues during the build but Geoff resolved every issue to our complete satisfaction.
