    Basement & Attic Insulation

    We've used Insta-Insulation for 2 jobs in the past year. When we suffered damage to our 2 basement levels after the storm of July 2013, we decided to insulate the exterior walls to raise the temperature in the house. The quote from Insta-Insulation was reasonable and they gave us a couple of options and what to expect during the process. We chose spray-foam insulation that was water & mold resistant. The work was done as scheduled and discussed. Since we were pleased with them, we chose them again to increase the amount of insulation in our 2 attics. Again, the quote was reasonable however when it came time to do the job, they realized that our soffits were blocked so we had to wait and have them cleared out before the insulation could be blown in. We found this company to be professional and they did exactly what they said they would do. We would recommend them.

    Bedroom renovation.

    I wanted to insulate the bedrooms in our bungalow. After interior demolition and framing I had spray foam applied. The job was fast and clean. Great service. Now warmer and quieter.

    Garage Ceiling

    I had an extremely cold Master Bedroom (Over the garage) that I wanted to take care of while replacing my floors. Insta-Insulation came in and spray foamed the ceiling. They were very efficient, salesman came in to have a look on Thursday and the guys were on site Monday afternoon. They were in and out in less than an hour. Very professional, very clean and overall and excellent job. Thanks so much! Chris

    Attic Upgrade

    As you may recall, we engaged your company’s services to re-insulate our attic. We met with your sales representative at a local business fair. While we did not take competitive bids, we had priced the job via various means, and we found your estimate most reasonable. Sales staff were excellent and explained the entire procedure to us. Our questions were answered promptly and fully. Your salesman came to our house to examine our attic and he did find mold. He arranged with Canada Restoration Services to perform mold abatement. The work was started May 5 and completed May 9, as promised. We found your team efficient and well trained. They were courteous at all times and always answered all our questions. We are very satisfied with the work completed and would readily recommend your company to any interested persons.     Insulate the attic.

    The 2013/2014 winter was very tough. Because of the ice storm and the amount of snow, coupled with a leaky roof and very poor insulation, we had some water damage to the inside of the house during the first thaw. OK, so it's time to "bite the bullet" and get it done right. After getting the roof fixed (by another very reputable company), we called Insta-Insulation to get the attic insulation fixed. You must realize that all our furnace ducting is in the attic. You also have to realize that it was installed very poorly (by some other contractor who did lousy work). I called Insta-Insulation because the house was built in 1974, and did not have any vapour barrier in the attic. I figured that the foam insulation would be the way to go, since it provides a 100% vapour barrier, as well as the insulation. We watch HGTV alot and Insta-Insulation is held in high regard by Mike Holmes. That is the main reason why I called Insta-Insulation. I talked with Brandon, who came to the house, inspected the attic and provided a quote. The timing of the installation was coordinated with the roofing company, and the schedule was worked out. The whole process took five visits: one to remove the existing insulation (some of which was wet because of the afore-mentioned leak); one to fix the furnace ducting; two to spray foam the deck (it's a 1500 square foot attic with two separate accesses); one to blow in the rest of the insulation to bring it up to R55. It turned out that the furnace ducting was so bad, they had to call in their "handyman" to fix it. He corrected all the leaky joints, anchored the boots to the ceiling (which wasn't done by the original contractor), insulated all the ducting where the original insulation was missing, and cut an access hatch from the main attic to the attic of the addition (which should have been done by the original contractor, but wasn't). The second day of foaming was a short day, and because they put exhaust fans in the attic, it was cured very quickly. Everyone at every stage of the installation called to say when they would be there. They always arrived when they said they would. I talked with everyone working on each step of the job, and all were very knowlegable and experienced. I never had any questions they couldn't answer. Besides Brandon, Cindy, Andrew and Crystal were all fantastic to work with. All-in-all, a very easy company to do business with. They honoured their quote, even with all the extra work performed by their "handyman". As a matter of fact, I have another, relatively small, job to do, and wouldn't hesitate to call them when I am ready to start.

    New Attic Insulation

    Bit of a shocker of an experience given how highly this company is rated on HomeStars. I needed to get my attic insulation removed and re-charged due to a mould problem. Insta Insulation teamed up with Canada Restoration Services to perform the work. They failed in all aspects of the project: Sales - the sales person appeared professional at first but it turns out he never educated me on the choice of insulating material or the option to apply a vapour barrier before blowing in the insulation. When I questioned him on this (after the work was underway) his response was "do you want a 4,000 dollar job or a 10,000 job?" Obviously that is not the point. I want to do what is right to protect my single largest asset. Scheduling: The project was delayed by a day because the attic was too hot by the time the setup was completed. Coordination with the mould remediation company was non-existent. They scheduled the work for the next day and then call me in the morning to say they need 24 hours after mould remediation to start the work - so will only come the following day. I had taken time off from work to make sure the job was completed properly - they do not seem to respect customers have scheduling issues too. Work Quality: On the day the insulation was supposed to be applied, the truck came without any covers for the pot lights. Since the truck could not be moved off the driveway because the hose was connected, I had to bike 10K to Home Depot to buy the covers. When the work was completed, I noticed a crack in my ceiling. They said they would fix this but my calls to the office have yet to be returned. Customer First Attitude: I sent an email to the owner describing my experience in detail. 2 weeks and no reply. Perhaps they have become complacent with their HomeStar rating. Definitely look for alternatives if you need similar work done.

This was an unfortunate situation but we do service a lot of customers and just because one customer's schedule needs to change, due to another contractor, does not mean we are willing to inconvenience several other customers by changing their schedule. All customers are important to us and our intention remains to do everything possible to provide an exceptional experience for everyone. I would also like to take a moment to defend our salesperson. He did provide two options and review the quotations with you. If you changed your mind and wanted another option part way through the process all you needed to do was ask.     Insulation in attic

    The Insta-Insulation technician was professional and knowledgeable about the products. They took care with the installation and were very considerate and tidy. The product has made a significant difference in our home.

    Insulation installation

    Had my back room and basement headers done. The team was professional, fast, effective and polite. I noticed the missed one of my headers in the basement and when I called they immediately booked another session and corrected the issue. Great service.

    Replacement attic insulation and a vent for a ceiling fan.

    Insta Insulation workers were professional from start to finish. They were very respectful, cleaned up after themselves and did great work. I will definitely use them again, and I recommend them wholeheartedly!

    Attic Insulation

    From the quote (which was lower than the competitions!) to the actual work, they were wonderful. They prompt and were here for 1.5 days to spray foam a walk up attic and over sprayed some areas making it thicker than the quote. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
