    Attic AC unit installation

Been trying to fix the muggy heat on our top floor for 4 years without success. Finally decided on an attic AC unit. Laird & Son priced amongst the best and were easy to deal with and had a good reputation so went with them. Was not disappointed - guys came and put it in as promised on time and works great. Cleaned up after themselves and easy to deal with. Ryan and his colleagues worked hard and were friendly, courteous and made the job much easier to handle from my perspective. Would recommend for anyone looking for HVAC work.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Lee, Yes, Attic systems are a challenge to install, and Ryan and his crew are hard working on the job. Our reputation is very important to us as is customer service. Great timing on getting this done, Enjoy your Summer Lee! Thanks for the great recommendation and rating!

furnace air conditioner tankless water heater

Have used this company for 11 years-twice a year for maintenance and call upon them for any problems. Ken is our go to guy-always willing to give advice when asked and estimate. A company and people to trust - nice that there are still these kind of companies and people still around

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Pat !!! We value Ken here at Laird and Son too !!! Thanks for trusting in us, for being your long-time HVAC company. We will continue to look after your heating and airconditioning needs 24 hours a day. Thanks again!

    furnace repair

They charged me $180 for 20 mins of work to say motor was no good. They then asked for $750 to get a new combustion motor.I bought one myself for $250 and it takes 15 minutes to install.

    Answer from pro:

At Laird & Son we compete daily in the market place and strive to be competitive and give added value. However when a customer is dissatisfied we take it seriously and always review with our service staff the particulars of what made this customer feel we have not lived up to that.

    Furnace repair

Our furnace stopped working last night. Apparently so did a lot of people's. After calling around to find a furnace repair person to come out same day we got around to Laird & Son who had installed the furnace in 2005. He arrived within a couple hours, did a quick diagnostic then left to buy a venter motor. He was back a half hour later and installed the motor. All in all it was quick but not cheap, The service call itself was $165 which was higher than some other quotes but I didn't really want to wait in the cold till someone else could come. The venter motor was another $580 so after tax the bill was $841. Expensive, kind of, but happy to be warm again and really happy we didn't need to replace the furnace completely. Friendly, quick, efficient service.

    Answer from pro:

    Gas Leak from Furnace

We smelled gas from our furnace room and Enbridge shut down the gas supply due to a leak. This happened late at night on a verrry cold evening. We called Laird and Son and left a message on their emergency line. A tech was at our door within 90 minutes and he was excellent! He quickly changed a faulty connection, tested it again, and had us up and running within 30 minutes. We would highly recommend this company for fast and efficient service. Thanks for getting the heat back on!!!!!!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Nancy, I will pass that on to Noah who was on call last night. It's important to act as fast as possible with emergencies like that. Thanks again for the recommendation! We appreciate your business Nancy!

during the freezing Feb long weekend... we woke up at 4 am to a freezing cold house. We saw on a google search that Laird had 9.5 rating and left a voice message. Noah called us back in minutes and agreed on a time to come by. He diagnosed our problem quickly and had our furnace running asap. Then Mike A. came a few days later to do a full service/tune up. Both technicians were courteous and careful. AWESOME service. thanks guys.

    Furnace check up and cleaning

I was very pleased with the work done by Bryan Medina. He seems to know what he is doing (which is not always the case with many tradesmen). Furthermore, he is punctual and actually came when he said he would. In addition, he is a very personable man. If "Laird and Son" have many more like him, I feel I have found my Heating and AC service team.

    Answer from pro:

Bryan loves his job !!! All of us here at Laird & Son take pride in our work and try to accommodate as best we can. Thanks for the great review, and feel free to ask for Bryan any time you need him. Our service dept. is available anytime for 24 hr. emergency no heat service. Thanks !

    Furnace

I had horrible experience with this company.Noah arrived as the water was leaking from the pressure valve. He replaced the valve and left. When he left, I had no heat in my in floor system, he has forgotten to turn on the valve for Zone 2. Had to call the another company,as I didn't know what was the cause. Today the water is leaking back from the valve. Spoke to Noah, advise me that now I have to empty the water tank myself, as he would have to charge me for coming back!

    Answer from pro:

Hello, Thank you for your review. We take our Homestars reviews quite seriously. I have spoken to you and hopefully helped explain the misunderstanding. Laird and Son will always back their service and are still willing to have a long time customer relationship. Since 1948, we have provided excellent customer service and are continuing to do so. Thanks for taking my call, and please call us with any other concerns, and we will be happy to meet your HVAC needs. Thanks !
