Excellent job of re-building my very old deck and a side balcony. After several unsuccessful contacts/quotes from other contractors I was referred to Deck Masters owned by Alec. I was undecided as to what material to use. Alec explained the pros and cons of 3 different materials (Cedar, Azek and IPE) and then quoted for each of them using the existing deck design with some minor modifications. I opted for the Azek which turned out beautifully and combined it with black aluminium railings as the house has other black cast iron accents. The membrane of the existing deck had been pierced causing water and ice accumulation in the closed storage area underneath. This was expertly corrected with the re-build. The new stairway is less steep than the old so feels more secure. An open roll-in space was created under the deck for the 3 bins – raccoons can’t open the lids! As an add-on to the contract, Alec agreed to stain the new cedar privacy screen which turned out to be a pain. Staining samples were totally different from the product on the cedar. Alex alerted me and then found the best product with a great look. Alex and his crew arrived every day and put in a full day. The job site was left clean every night and it took just over 1 week to complete. Highly recommend. This job was done in September 2019 in midtown Toronto.

Update 2019: We were so happy with the front porch that Master Deck did in 2016 that we called Master Deck again this year to re-do our second floor back deck. Once again, we are very pleased with the final result. Alec suggested a metal bannister upgrade which we opted for and it looks great. While on the job, he fixed a couple things in our backyard (replaced a loose plank on our wooden steps and reinforced the hinge on our back gate) out of the kindness of his heart. A shout-out to Tim as well, who is extremely hard working and kind. We will no doubt be using this company again when we get our lower back deck re-done and will continue to recommend them to neighbours and friends.

Alec and his team built our deck about 8 years ago and it still looks beautiful. So when our daughter was looking for someone to build a deck at her end unit townhome we recommended and called Alec at Master Deck. Alec was always on time, provided a very competitive quote and he and his team started and finished the job on time. Our daughter was ecstatic with the final product. As always, Alec took pride in the material and the final product he delivered. He and his team always cleaned up after each day and no garbage was left behind at the end of the job. Fantastic job. Got a few estimates to remove our old deck/build a new one, but nothing compared to Alec's knowledge, price & professionalism. Extremely hard working, Alec, Tim & the team built a beautiful deck to tie into the existing gazebo. Exceeded our expectations. Great workmanship & attention to detail. Would highly recommend using Master Deck & would use again.

Alec and the team have constructed three decks for me over the last 21 years. My latest deck was built using composite lumber ( Azek ) and glass around the perimeter. Alec's group was easy to work with and the result was excellent. Highly recommended.

I wasn't going to write a review, I wasn't sure what I could add to the already glowing reviews here. But if I can add any value, I can say that the incredible work Alek and his team has done over the years is the same this deck-building season. We can add consistency to the list! What a professional! He and his team understand decks inside and out, they are hard working, forthright and strong on detail. We could not be any happier!

We met Masterdeck based on our neighbour's referral but chose it due to Alec the owner. He is honest, straightforward, down to earth and helpful. He drew our Azek composite deck using paper and pencil and quoted us a fair price. It is his company but he is the salesperson and the worker bee too! Him, Tim and Dilliion showed up promptly at 8 am ,worked hard, worked efficiently and quickly, smiled and are highly professional and competent. They only work on one job at a time....4 days and it was all done! Great workmanship and if we asked them to change something they happily just did it. We hired Master Deck after getting several other quotes. Our first impression of Alec won us over with his knowledge and personable attitude. His quote was the most competitive and his scheduling very efficient and organized. The work (an 80' fence and an 18'x18' multi-level deck) was completed in the time indicated and was exactly what we wanted. A special shout-out to Tim, the lead carpenter, and the rest of his team, in a fantastic job.

We hired Alec and his team to rebuild and level out our 16 x 20 foot deck using AZEK composite planks, and the whole process went incredibly smoothly. They were professional all the way -- efficient and customer-focused, delivering everything as promised and coming up with good solutions for our unusual requests (e.g., two windows in the deck floor to allow natural light to reach basement windows). Tim, the lead carpenter, was meticulous in his work. We can highly recommend Master Deck.
