    Gas furnace service

    Milani service is very prompt (I am being serviced on Easter Sunday, without paying overtime), very courteous, and knowledgeable. They are respectful of the house, and don't make a mess, and keep the home-owners well-informed of their progress, and any issues, and involve us in any required decisions. All good.

    Furnace inspection

    Very efficient and prompt! The service person was informative and offered useful advice! No hard sell for other parts, much appreciated. Happy that I know where to go each year for my furnace. It is really great to have people you trust! Well done, Milani!

    hot water tank

    Hot water tank making noises and Indy came to check it. Said it was the regulator and I didn't have to worry. He also adjusted the temperature to a comfortable level for me

    Hot Water Tank

    Our hot water tank had developed a rattle from time-to-time and we could not trace the source. We thought that after 8 years the tank was nearing the its end. Mo reviewed the tank, its connections & the related water sources. He found that no tank or major repairs were required, it was a wood pecker drawn to the tank's rooftop vent. Mo then provided a solution involving a trades-person attaching a wire mesh to the vent's outlet. Problem discovered - solution obtained.

    Kitchen Sink

    My technician was Sandro. He installed a new kitchen sink, trimmed the counter as the new one was of a different shape than the existing one, fixed all the leaks and redid the drainage. All was done very efficiently and in a timely manner. It is the second time I use Milani and I am very satisfied.

    Plumbing

    Hot water tank was overflowing and toilet was clogged. The technician was nice and professional. He quickly figured out the problem and explained it to me clearly. Although the problem turned out to be worse than I expected, milani makes it easy to solve.

    Leak inspection

    Have a leak showing on an inside wall. Called regarding and inspection to see where water is coming from. Technician came and viewed the leaking area . Technician was nice and helpful but I would have thought a little more (moisture reading etc) might have been done.

    Hot water tank replacement

    I'm satisfied by the communication and customer service by Christina, Mo, and Michael when it came to replacing the hot water tank in our townhouse. Christina was very thorough in her phone and email communications to get the information required to ensure that the correct replacement tank was delivered. Mo was prompt and courteous during the service. Some minor clean up of the floor was required after he left, hence the 9/10 for satisfaction.

    hot water tank replacement

    Our hot water tank was almost 9 years old and started to show some runs of rust on the outside. So we decided to replace it before it blew. Called for a replacement and Mo came out to do the job. We were thrilled with his work. It was a bigger job than expected as the new 50 gallon tank would not fit into the allowable space in the cupboard. Mo found us another slightly smaller tank and it fit in beautifully. We will be recommending Milani to our friends and neighbours and will call again for any other plumbing issues we may have.

    Milani was a disaster

    I called Milani for a simple shower rough-in and install because they were so highly rated. The first plumber they sent made 2 significant mistakes, one of which messed up my drywalling schedule because he had to come back to fix the mistake. Once the tiling of the shower was finished, I called Milani back to finish the job since I assumed that I had just had bad luck with the first guy. I made sure that I got a different plumber this time, but the new guy made a couple of mistakes also (I am not a really picky guy, but the finished shower did not have hot water and one of the taps was badly scratched during install). He did however discover a leak in the plumbing (made by either him or the first guy) which required cutting into the gyproc from the back of the shower to repair it, and Milani charged me for the repair (to fix a mistake made my their employee). Getting hot water from the shower took over a week to fix (this time they sent their most senior plumber) and the replacement of the damaged part still has not happened months after the original work. It also took months to get them to refund me for having to pay for the damage cause by their employee, even though they acknowledged that I should not have been charged. In talking with another plumber about my experience, he said "Milani will hire anyone". He had been hired by Milani when he had just come to Canada and other plumbing companies were unsure of his credentials. He said Milani did not even look into his training, they did not even ask to see his paperwork, they just hired him on the spot. He only stayed with them for a short time until he got hired by a firm with higher standards. My experience with Milani left me feeling very badly treated. While discussions with them were always friendly, they have dragged their feet on every issue. I think they thought I would go away if they drew it out. The problems were all relatively small and fixable, and they acknowledged that they had messed up, but they willingness to get on and fix the problems was very slow. And for 2 different plumbers to both make 2 mistakes on a simple job, well that speaks of their hiring and quality assurance practices.

    The first plumber to attend was a “Ticketed Red Seal Plumber,” the second plumber to attend was a “Ticketed Red Seal Plumber from Ireland.” Both plumbers have over 6,000 (SIX THOUSAND HOURS) of on-the-job experience, which is required to obtain a plumbing ticket. Milani has never hired anyone from overseas without proper plumbing credentials as this is not a practice allowed by Immigrations Canada. THE STATEMENTS MADE ON THIS REVIEW REGARDING OUR HIRING PRACTICES ARE FALSE. We worked with this customer and provided solutions that the customer agreed to. On January 24th the customer emailed us back letting us know that everything was fine. We were not provided any feedback that matched the tone of this review. However, we are committed to customer service and if there is anything else this customer feels would change the situation, we would be more than happy to continue to work with them.
