    Air duct cleaning and sanitizing

Recently, my wife and I decided to have the ducts of our country farmhouse cleaned since we had just completed four years of dusty, dirty renovations. In addition, we had noticed a VERY objectionable mildew odor that started when we turned the furnace on for the first time in the fall. Northwood Heating suggested we include a sanitizing mist (for only $50) that would address the mildew/mold that was obviously living in the ductwork. (GROSS!) Gary Landry and his crew arrived promptly, explained every step of the process, worked diligently and efficiently, and were unbelievably neat while doing so. Not a single surface was left damaged or untidy. They managed to extract a huge bag of household dust, drywall and sawdust, animal hair and God-knows-what-else. The result was SUPERB!!! The house smells clean and fresh and -- most importantly -- there is not a trace of mildew odor when you walk in the door. We could not be more pleased with the results or with this company and the way they conduct their business. Next year, we will certainly invite them back for a return engagement.

    New Furnace Installed

We had contacted Northwood to give us an estimate on a new high efficiency furnace. Michael was very informative and gave us confidence in their experience with our installation needs. Measurements were taken during the estimate visit in the cramped crawl space that would soon fit our new furnace. A date was set and two members of the Northwood team ( George and Santos) arrived on time and immediately set down drop sheets over the floor and stairs to the basement. A third team member (John) arrived shortly after to re-locate the air conditioner coil as part of the original plan. After approx 11 hours working non-stop, the job was done. The work area was spotless. The Northwood team explained some important points regarding our new furnace before leaving. They were polite, hard working and we really appreciate all your back-breaking work in the cramped space. Great work!! Thank you for a job well done!

furnace, air conditioning, air filter, and humidifier

Researched this purchase to death before we made the calls for estimates. Coincidentally our 14 yr old air conditioner died at the same time which then put some urgency to the timeline. Northwood was highly recommended and really knew their product. Their estimate was competitive and they squeezed us into their installation schedule. The installation team was fantastic. They explained thoroughly a couple of modifications they needed to make. And they left the basement clean as a whistle when they were done. The office team was also very helpful and professional when the time came for finalizing the payment. After a few weeks with no air conditioning in the midst of a hot spell we were thrilled to finally turn on the new air conditioner and couldn't believe how quickly and beautifully the house cooled off. So they clearly recommended the correct size A/C unit for our home. Very happy so far and the warranty is exceptional so we are confident heading into the winter. ______________________________ UPDATE: Here we are on Dec 29th with no heat and freezing temperatures outside. The temperature in the house is falling fast and despite calling this morning, Northwood tells us "Sorry" can't send anyone til tomorrow. I consider no heat on a freezing day to be something that warrants an urgent service call. So my family gets to freeze for the rest of the day AND overnight. Thanks a lot Northwood.... This kind of subpar service is what moves a company into the unacceptable category. VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Stay away from Northwood - lots of companies can install the furnace but it is what you encounter on the freezing day when you have no heat that you need to worry about and Northwood has just failed miserably.

New and improved duct work and air conditioning.

My wife and I just renovated our first home in Toronto. We acted as the general contractor and dealt with 10 different sub-contractors (some were a nightmare to deal with) over a 6 week period. We are confident in saying that Northwood provided the best service of all the companies/individuals we hired from start to finish. They were honest, efficient and respectful. I would not hesitate to recommend them or hire them for future work. Brian, Gary, Santos and everyone at Northwood, thank you for the exceptional service.

    Completely new HVAC system

Simply put, (These guys are the best!). I’m a master electrician and in the industry for 24 years in Montreal. A year ago I bought a home in Rosedale, Toronto which needed extensive work. I had no resources here in Toronto so I turned to the Holmes on Homes website and found Northwood Heating. I called them for an estimate as well as several other companies. When most of us call for an estimate, we also try to establish their qualification and if their professional, they exceeded in both. Well, the companies that sent me sales reps couldn’t answer my question or made up some nonsense. When problems start to occur, they start their song & dance and the sales rep is nowhere to be found. At Northwood (Gary & Brian) came and evaluated my home and explained my options. Finally, some actual competence. In my years of experience as well as Gary & Brian at Northwood, is to take an engineer’s plans and either find what’s wrong with it or improve on it. What I’m trying to say is that the staff at Northwood take pride their work and go the extra mile so that it’s done right the first time. Cheers Gentlemen, It was a pleasure having you work on my home. John

    New HVAC system

    - Just had a brand new furnace,A/C,and water heater installed by Northwood, and we highly recommend them. They provided more service for a lesser price than others we got quotes from (including duct cleaning). Gary and the crew (and Josie at home base) were among the best people we have ever hired, and it was a very positive experience. Their work was neat and meticulous, and there seemed to be no problem they couldn't solve. We were also impressed with the additional improvements they made to our ductwork and air returns - at no extra charge. We're looking forward to a continuing relationship with them for yearly servicing.

    air conditioner repair

My air conditioner (air handler) was leaking badly on my new $4000 rug and staining it badly with rusty water(yellow) which could not be removed. A new A/C could not be easily installed because of the geometry of the ceiling instillation. Gary came out 3 times and only charged for the first visit ($200). He struggled until he fixed it and I was most impressed. The combination of his ability and dedication was rare.
