The man diagnosed by phone, gave me a price by text, came when he said he would and took care of it. bonus- he replaced a hinge on my other garage door that I hadn't noticed was broken.

My home's garage doors were falling apart and to spend at least $2k+ on a pair of garage doors, I wanted someone good. Steve (the owner) was phenomenal. If I ever think to a great home service, he would be one of my top 3 all time favourites. He is very honest, upfront, and incredibly versed in good customer service. His prices were very fair. It was cheaper than a well known vendor for a comparable (possibly better!) product. We ordered our garage doors with full installation from him. His work was spotless, pristine, and showed a lot of great workmanship. It's something I would hope all house repairs/installation would be and yet doubt it would happen. BUT it did happen with my garage doors. Steve was just so great. A small minor order mix up occurred and Steve was so professional and great about everything. He fixed all the issues immediately. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a new garage door or something fixed. It is small businesses like this one that makes me believe we should support them 100%. The big box vendors should take notes and lessons from him! This is how you do business on garage doors installations and repairs!

We had a garage door with a second doorway (for people) right next to it. The garage door, while adequate, was not wide enough to comfortably back in a larger vehicle. The adjacent doorway was not incredibly useful so we decided to remove this entire setup ad replace it with an extra wide garage door, plus put in a garage door opener. There is an issue with low clearance in our garage that we were concerned about for the garage door opener. One of our neighbours had the exact same job done and the results looked great. They told us to contact Steve with Open Sesame and we're very glad we did. Steve came on site and was able to give an idea of the time/price for the work. Because of the low clearance Steve recommended a Jack Lift door opener which was a bit of a pricier option, but was needed to deal with the issue. We had another company come in to provide an estimate as well. They did not appear as confident as Steve and didn't seem to have any real insight on what to do about the clearance issue. So we went ahead with Open Sesame even with the other company providing a slightly lower quote. Once the garage door was up, Steve saw that there was enough room for a more traditional/cheaper unit and recomend that instead. I was very surprised and impressed by this since really Steve could have just gone ahead and charged me for the more expensive unit and called it a day. I highly recommend Open Sesame. Our garage door is working great for our needs and our neigbour is still quite heppy as well.

I just had a new carriage house style garage door installed with a new opener that is so quiet that I have to look to make sure it is closing. True to his word, with the best price and fabulous service. Thanks Steve, I really like my new garage door. Would definitely recommend you!

Came promptly when they said they would. People were friendly. Was obviously knowledgeable and fixed the warped frame and flattened out the panel and the dragging chain. Steve also spray-painted the door where the chain had chafed the panels. Very nice touch..above and beyond what was expected..and greatly appreciated as I would have had to buy a can of paint to spray a small area. Would highly recommend to others.

Don't call anyone else! Steve is simply the most friendliest and trustworthy contractor I've ever had the pleasure of working with and met. He came and performed an emergency courteous visit at no charge. Since I needed a new door I bought it from him too. At the price he gave (which others thought was higher) he replaced the door, track, springs ... essentially the whole thing which took most of the day. He was flexible and trustworthy and will highly recommend him to anyone!! Thanks Steve!!

I called Open Sesame in the late morning. By the early afternoon of the same day, they had arrived and replaced the broken spring and guide wires of the garage door (and lubricated all parts of the affected door as well as another door for no additional charge). Very pleasant to deal with, quick, and very good at what they do. Precisely what we were looking for. A1 company.

Called the company and Steve dropped by within the day to fix our broken garage door. They worked quickly and efficiently. He also lubricated our other garage door to make it run more smoothly. Price is very reasonable, and an excellent deal for the quality of work delivered. Do not hesitate to hire them.

We had an old garage door that broke away from our garage wall and collapsed on one side.We found Open Sesame here on HomeStars and called them. Even though it was late evening, Steve returned our call quickly and came over the very next day and repaired the door so we could use it. We decided to purchase a new garage door and new garage door opener as our existing ones were over 30 years old. Steve was very helpful in giving us options and ways to save money . He was very friendly and fun to deal with and never gave us any pressure to buy, and in fact never charged us for the repair of our old door, even before we decided to purchase. The new garage door and opener were installed quickly, as well as the reframing of our wall that was crumbling. Steve and his assistant worked very hard to finish the job in just over a day. We love the new garage door and the opener is quiet and smooth. Steve's workmanship is excellent in quality, and the price charged was very reasonable for the top quality of the products we ordered and the amount of work needed to reframe the wall and install the new garage door and door opener. Steve was a real pleasure to work with, and we most highly recommend him and Open Sesame.
