New stairs built, flagstone replaced, cold cellar repaired
Otto and his team were excellent to work with. He was in quite a bit of demand this summer so the project started a couple of weeks late. It was definitely worth the wait. Once started, his crew worked long hours and ensured things moved along as quickly as possible. The job site was kept clean and care was taken to return anything disturbed (eg. landscaping) to its original condition, or better. His quote was not the cheapest I got but given the extent and quality of work rendered, the value was exceptional. There were various incidentals once the job started, but Otto kept to his original price. I would certainly recommend Otto's Masonry to friends and family and if I need masonry services in the future wouldn't hesitate to call Otto again.

Porch Rebuild, Chimney Repair and Parging
We had Otto's Masonry rebuild our front porch this past month and we are extremely pleased with the quality of their work. From the first time we met Otto we found him to be professional, organized, responsive, friendly and very dedicated. Otto was always willing and available to answer our questions and to discuss the project with us. Jesse, Sean, and Carl worked on our project and were very friendly and worked long hours to ensure that the job was done. They also were readily available to answer questions and keep us involved. They kept the site clean and on many occasions my neighbors commented on the quality of their work as well as their professionalism. It is so nice to be able to have people complete a job without any issue at all. It was a pleasure to get to know them. They were able to match the brick to our house and also built a storage area under our porch for our garbage and recycling. As part of the project they also fixed two chimney's and parged our house. The quality of all of their work is outstanding! It is without hesitation that we recommend Otto's Masonry. We will definitely use them again for other work. Our porch looks amazing! Thank you!!

new paver sidewalk between houses
Otto recently replaced a sidewalk between our house and our neighbours. He and his crew did an amazing job, were on time and budget. When the work was complete, there was a small area of parging that needed fixing and he promptly came and fixed it. We highly recommend him and will hire him again!

Masonry
I have just had work completed by Otto's Masonry and I could not be happier with the result. It was a small job, tuck pointing of bricks and re-parging along the side of the garage. Otto came out to assess what needed to be done and followed up with a written estimate. The work was performed in one day and looks fantastic. The repair work on the brick is a perfect match and the ends on the parging are perfect. It was so refreshing to see someone take so much pride in their work. I would recommend them to a friend without hesitation.

Fireplace renewal
Otto's Masonry was great and I would definitely use them again. For this job the replaced our fireplace damper, enlarged the opening and fixed everything up so that we could have a wood burning fireplace (was previously a dis-used coal one) Otto showed up to the estimate appointment on time and didn’t seem phased that we were in the middle of our demolition! Otto sent me a quote via email thin 2 days– this is the most prompt of any vendor I’ve worked with! Their quote was half of what other masonry companies had quoted us. We booked them immediately with the caveat that they would fit us in around other jobs on a rain date (as we had left this job a little late in the season and they were already booked up). Otto fit us in for a rain date within a week! During the process Otto was very communicative via email.

Hidden brickwall under drywall retuckpointed (I think that's what it was called)
I found this gorgeous wall underneath the plaster when we demolished the wall the renovate the downstairs bathroom. It was in great shape but not as great as the wall opposite. I looked up Otto who I'd gotten a quote from previously for limestone thresholds and had liked him instantly. So we hired him this time around. It was a little on the pricey side but as you can see it turned out beautifully and it bought us the much needed 5" to keep this room as a bathroom with a shower. Devon, who did the work, was great and easy to get along with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Otto for any tuckpointing and look forward to him returning to pour that cement that he offered for free as a thanks. Great guy, great staff, great company. I'm ready for the floor repour, Otto! :)

Rebuild basement from sewer backup
In four different houses over thirty years I have employed Otto for the hard jobs. He is meticulously careful, unfailingly clear and courteous. This time he hit unexpected challenges but didn't raise his price. For integrity and competence, he's the best!

Cleaning and pointing of interior basement stone wall.
We were beyond impressed with Otto. Really, all other trades seem to disappoint us. (ugh I wish I could write this so it sounded as genuine as this review really is) but he sent a man to point our basement stone wall and he stayed for over 9 hours straight. We were so impressed- he only charged us $500 and other companies were asking twice that. Couldn't be happier. Only wish we had hired him to do more work on our home as his work ethic is top notch and rare in this industry.

Fireplace Removal
My wife and I were looking to gain some added space in our basement by removing the existing fireplace. Otto came out personally to give an overall honest opinion on whether the service could be done. He inspected and was able to give us the go ahead to start the removal. His team took one day and did an immaculate job. I was able to through a couple sheets of drywall up within the next few days. He even replaced a damage window. I am extremely satisfied and will definitely recommend his services.

Concrete Front Porch
We ran into an issue at our house with some work we were doing in the basement. We discovered our front porch (which was wooden) had no concrete foundation under it. In other words, the flimsy front porch was the only barrier between the outside and part of our basement. I called Otto and he came to look at it right away and once he saw what a mess it was, he had a crew at our place the very next morning to put in a proper concrete porch to create a proper barrier for this part of the basement. The whole job was done in 3 days and they did a great job. We are very happy with the new porch deck and since it was done so quickly, didn't hold up the work being done in the basement. We would use Otto's company again for sure. Thanks Otto and Tony.
