New Home
Just want to put a shout out to Excel Homes that built my first home. The knowledge of the Sales staff reassured me of what I was buying as I had never had owned a home before. From the Sales team looking out for my best interest to the possession Team of showing me how to take care of the home. I would recommend Excel for anyone who is buying a new home and is unsure what is involved.

new home build
Since contract was signed we have had nothing but issues. Missed a tonne of work due to incomplete repairs. It's come to the point we do it ourselves to make sure it's right. Concrete leaking in our basement and garage! 7 visits in total and several repairs and still leaking! Warranty team and customer care doesn't return emails. I've sent hundreds of pictures. Warranty team member Kevin called me derogatory names when asked when they were returning in front of many neighbours. Excels vice president came in person to apologize provide us a $200 gift card but kept that staff member on staff! 10 foot Flashing dangerously hanging from our home at one time and Marc, a "construction manager" told me its not dangerous. Neighbours were coming to our house worried about children being hurt. I seem to recall a little girl being decapitated from flashing. My husband had to race home to remove it. New members they've sent our way Shane and Michael are always blaming something else that would be something not covered under warranty, and leave work unfinished and not right. We have already contacted Alberta new home warranty and are planning to proceed with a claim. We are sick and tired, but looking for fairness! Not going to accept this. It's funny no customer service member replied to this. It's a known neglected home owner that was swindled. Never again! Don't buy an Excel Home!

We have lost lots of time due to after possession Repairs due to their poor work. They build home for neighbor broke lots of things in our home, we are still waiting to have someone to come and take a look after two mounts of follow up. They removed our top soil under our deck to put concrete pad, they left it not completed and removed all form work and re-bars just left gravel in our backyard. I got advice from other people have experience with excel homes to be care full Excel home , But it was late and we had our contract already signed with them. just to list some of our issues, Misleading and incomplete information about basement development prices, appliance installation issues, incorrect water pipe connection ,missing keys, broken vinyl siding ,noisy floors. improper door insulation ,broken spout and ....

Poor Workmanship
I am going to attach some pictures they say 1000 words. First it was the tile who sub contracts the work to other companies and what we found out they also sub contracted again. Crooked, chipped and huge grout lines which they agreed to remove some tiles and redo but only to a max of 3 sheets than we would need to go to new home warranty. We got so fed up with having someone here replacing tile we gave up! They paint all the doors with the hardware attached so paint is on most of the door hardware and on some carpet. Water pipes going to toilet come on an angle so the metal hole cover doesn't sit on the floor to hide the pipe entries. Siding not cleaned when we moved in which you have to note on your walkthrough we were told. Concrete walkway was poured wrong so they had to replace 2 slabs. After they poured the new slabs there was staining in some areas and they had to come back to fix it, attached are pictures of the quality work. The siding, bottom stucco and brick pillars were covered with cement dust which we had to have cleaned up now we have broken stucco and some cracked bricks. Which we still need to notify them on. The water main in the driveway started chipping and cracking during the winter, they say that it was the city who did that and not their responsibility. But no one knows why it was cut out and we are stuck with it.

Front lawn
i had my concrete walkway poured last year Excell drilled in to my main sewer line, they had to excavate below foundation level to repair. at the same time they have destroyed my front lawn and quickly covered the big mess without compacting the yard they poured another wakway now evereng sunked over a foot below concrete caving in the front lawn and they have promissed to fixe it as soon as snow was gone it is june still not done. whatever they touch something else is destroyed 0% quality. I strongly recommend stay away from this company choose another builder pls check other reviews how many negative feedback they have and i believe these are true. customer pay their hard earned money but once they have your cash good luck to have anything done right. They come also to fix cracking on my widnows casings and left silicon on my brand new windows coverings i have 0 respect for this company

Home build
This is our second build with Excel. From the sales team to the site supervisor, the experience has been awesome. Excel provides excellent value without compromising quality on the finish product.

Built house
We are definitely not happy at all with our building experience with Excel. Starting right from the beginning, the lot was promised to be flat with a slight incline up to Shaganappi Trail. That is not the case and we now have a steep incline. We have to now install retaining walls to enjoy our back yard. We were also told, and it's cleary shown on the map of the lots, that there would be a sound fence across the back of the yard. We now have 1/3 of a wood fence (not sound fence) and the remainder is a chain link fence. The entire reason for buying this lot was for the size and the sound fence, having 3 kids you can understand why. As for the building process, Excel should be embarrassed to call this quality workmanship. Crooked walls, quality of work is a joke, drywall on one wall not glued or screwed, painting was done after carpet and hardwood installed so there's paint everywhere! We would not recommend building with Excel at all!!!!

Newhome
Great sales staff but that's where it ends. The company is very good at addressing all problems but is very unwilling to fix them right or at all. It's like they take your money give you the very very bare minimum and then tell you good luck. It's been 2 years and are home continues to so signs that all corners where cut to build it. We are now forced to pay and have are home inspected so we can get the job done right so are home is safe. If you do plan on building with this company get a inspector to go over it before you give them your money.

Purchase of New Home
As first time home buyers, Excel made our experience a smooth and enjoyable experience. The staff provided quality customer service and were extremely professional and helpful during the process. The quality of this builder is top notch and we valued the dedication and commitment to help us make our first home a reality.

new home build
We just bought a new home, and took possession 3 days ago. We have been very pleased with the level of service we have received during our building process. this is our first build, and it went very smoothly. We had the house on the date promised and and small thing we wanted touched up was done so without question. The sales staff are amazing!!
