    House in savanna

    Staff is good. We are building a new house with excel homes in savanna. They showed us different celing and made different which we donot like.the house is still under construction. They have to show what they are going make. This make us very frustrating.we are not happy with that. Before sign in check everything even miner things. Once again i am very sad.

    Our First Brand New Home!

    We moved into our new Excel Home in December and we LOVE IT! The Edison floor plan provides us with all the space we need. Thank you to Chamse, Angela, and Ellen for making our experience great! Also, thank you to Glen, Jason, Robert, Phil, and Gerry for making sure we are taken care of post possession : D I am PROUD to own an Excel Home!

    WORST COMPANY TO EVER DEAL WITH!! NEVER BUY FROM EXCEL

    THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. THE SALES MANAGER (MAUREEN M) IS INCOMPETENT. THE AREA MANAGER IS WORST (CODY N). THEY DONT KNOW CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO HOLD THEIR END OF THE DEAL. THEY WILL RUSH YOU INTO SIGNING THE CONTRACT THEN LEAVE YOU HANGING AND PENALIZE YOU FOR THEIR MISTAKES. THEY WILL L.IE..L.IE..L.IE TO SELL THE PROPERTY. THEY DONT OWN UP WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES INSTEAD PIN IT ON THE CLIENT OR THE REALTOR. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY CONTACT INFORMATION WHATSOEVER ON THEIR WEBSITE TO TALK TO SOMEONE WITH AUTHORITY. CODY AND MAUREEN ARE USELESS TO DEAL WITH!!! I HAVE EMAILED EXCEL CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE ADDRESS LEFT IN ONE OF THE COMMENTS AND OFCOURSE NO ONE WILL GET BACK TO YOU. I WOULD HIGHLY!!!! DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM EVER CONSIDERING EXCEL HOMES. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

    Rude Sales Person

    The sales person (Luc) was very rude....in fact, he is the rudest sales person i have ever encountered...and i like everyone & i am very easy to please. I purchased an Excel Home & will definitely not recommend this builder....Too bad i already signed the PA :( They are only nice in the beginning, but after signing they will treat you like trash. Again, Luc was/is very rude.

    Worst decision I have ever made

    If you want to be frustrated, this is the company for you. Once you leave the show room you are out of luck. Any service provided after the initial build is never on time and their customer service department needs major training. I have been hung up on numerous times, they stone wall you when trying to speak to management. Of all the issues i have had with this company: 1) had a leak from my master bathroom that went to my living room after possession of 2 weeks 2) Counter tops were not set properly 3) Their service manager admitted that i was skipped on more than 3 occasions for the pouring of my concrete 4) Gas valve went on my heater after being in the house for 1 month took them 5 days to change 5) Built my detached garage but could not get in it until after 3 months because of no slope If I didnt have to ever speak to their customer service people in Calgary they probably could have still gotten 3 stars, but having to deal with that group that has no respect or consideration if i could give a negative rating i would. Their customer service is deplorable, i have never dealt with any company or person so disrespectful and I know they know they have an issue based on all the other reviews i am seeing here.

    Worst Decision I Ever Made ...

    Worst decision I ever made was to purchase a home built by excel homes! If I could turn back time I would continue to rent, inside of owning my home in the Heartland!! From sales person over promising and no longer working with the company all the way down to our so called "warranty" repairs that I have to fight to get done, and then they don't get completed and I either have to continuously send emails or do them my self! Its not just me who feels this way ... my ENTIRE BLOCK feels the same way, and they have just decided to accept the fact that they will never receive good customer service! Purchasing your first home is supposed to be one of the best times in your life and I REGRET it every day that I've been here and its been a year now ... awesome way to live!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Terrible Customer Service

    At first my buying experience with this builder was pretty average I would say. That was until I had to have any of my warranty work completed. All of which was brought forward to the builder prior to possession. I needed a major repair to my hardwood floor, they gave every excuse not to complete it until the one year mark, my floor was repaired, but it looks like two completely different floors are installed is by side. Their response to my concerns were "it is an appropriate repair". I am now left with a terrible looking floor, with a decreased home value. Any other repairs were done last minute. Some repairs were completed at the 6 month mark, only because I contacted each individual company myself. Now that I am over the one year mark it looks like I will be completing the remaining repairs at my own cost, even though they were brought up and documented prior to posession. I have brought my concerns up to as many people as I could think of with multiple calls and emails, all with no answer. This includes head office to site managers. The customer care of this company is a terrible.

    House Built by Excel

    Built a house with excel. Not many options to choose from but work was good. The stuff used by excel was just basic but everything still works! I will recommend them if you want a basic house with no frills.

    new home

    I built my first home with excel and it was the worst experience ever. The site super was terrible...tried to help when the wrong bathroom shower was delivered...told me to leave and don't come back until the home was complete....emailed head office and they did nothing. They had to change it out before possession and made a total mess, flooded the home due to trying to pull up another shower line which again I pointed out during a walkthrough was missing..this resulted in water stains in the ceiling on the main floor....they were too cheap to replace the board, dried it out instead. Even the property wasn't graded correctly...always had pooled water around the fence line when it rained. Terrible...sold the house after a year...will never build with excel again, buyer beware

    Purchased Spec Home in EvansRidge

    We weren't actually looking to purchase a home since other builders we tried dealing with had horrible horrible customer/sales service and we pretty much gave up but we drove by the community of EvansRidge and thought it would be nice to see 'just for fun'. Honestly, if it wasn't for Lian (and Angela) being so attentive and very informative with our questions we wouldn't of even bothered. Most people won't bother doing reviews when they're satisfied but credit where credit is due, its been a pleasure dealing with them. I was also impressed that Excel Homes is responsive to any reviews online (positive or negative) compared to other builders that I've researched - some are simply too scared to acknowledge any kind of criticism or comments by their buyers. As expected with any home build there were a few items that needed to be addressed before possession and two or three items are still being worked on but the response from the site manager (Kevin) has been excellent. We are always given timelines and responses to our request(s) have been immediate. I'll update if necessary as time goes on with how the house holds up but everything looks great so far.
