    Bedroom set purchase

The salesperson (Bruce) was attentive to detail, personable and followed up with my requests. He took the time to listen to my needs and allowed me to custom alter some pieces. Everything I was promised was delivered. Quality of furniture is great. The delivery men were friendly and managed to get heavy furniture up a narrow staircase with no marks or damage to my walls. Furniture was set up for me and wrapping/garbage were taken away. Superb service all around. I would definitely buy from this store again.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the kind words. At the Bedroom Shop we take pride in both our quality and service from start to finish, our goal is to try and make every customers experience a Great one.

    Purchased Bedroom Set

I ordered a bedroom set on Feb. 9, 2014, putting a downpayment of $1k on my MasterCard. Was told delivery would be in 4-5 weeks. Delivery was postponed from April 10 to April 16 (making it over 9 weeks from date of order). When received, furniture was in damaged condition, of significantly inferior quality to that which I originally ordered (which had been discontinued after my original order, so I accepted what the manager told me were comparable pieces to match the bed which was available) for a discounted price of $1k from my total of cost of $3,429.60 for the queen canopy bed, 2 night stands, chest and dresser with mirror. (The queen canopy bed is from the original set I ordered and is of far superior quality.) Full payment was made at time of delivery; $1,400 in cash and the balance on my MasterCard. No invoice was provided by the delivery person and the "set up" (which was supposed to be included in the price) consisted of him dropping the boxes in my room and taking off. I told him that the first piece I unboxed was damaged. He told me to contact the store and it would be replaced. Upon unpacking the rest of the items, two more were in damaged condition and all five pieces were seen to be improperly finished and of extremely poor quality. I called the salesperson the following day, but was told he was off for 2 days and would not be back until Saturday, April 19. I called on April 19 and told him that the pieces were damaged and of very poor quality and I was not at all happy with the items and wanted a refund. He said he would have to check with the manufacturer. When I called him again, he said that he could not make the refund. I suggested that he replace the pieces with ones from a better quality set and I would pay the $1k that was originally deducted, but he said it would be $2k more for pieces which were not of the same quality as the original ones. Why would I spend $5,500 for furniture that was original only $4,500 and of better quality? As well, I was told that I would have to pay for delivery. Why, since they would be coming out to pick up the damaged furniture anyway? After I posted to the BBB website, the store owner posted back saying that I should have contacted him. How could I contact someone I didn't even know existed? The salesperson never informed me that I should call this other person. I have not received the courtesy of a call regarding even replacing the damaged goods, let along a refund, although on the BBB site, the owner said that I could pay $2,000 more and pick a better quality suite (minus the bed, which I am keepiing and paid $1,400 for). Why would I pay $2,000 more for a suite which is not of the quality of the one I originally ordered for $1,000 more? I am at the point where I feel like taking this crappy furniture and burning in the store's parking lot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - non-existent customer service and no idea of what is a "match" to their own stock

    bedroom furniture

My Wife and I were very impressed with the quality of the bedroom furniture on display. We ended up buying a solid wood bedroom set from Joanne the Manager, (she was awesome). It took a bit longer than we were told, but all and all a great experience!

    waterbed

We bought a waterbed from The Bedroom Shop in Newmarket. Took 2 weeks to get to the shop. When we picked it up there were pieces scattered all over the back room, not as a whole packaged set. It was very disorganized. Took it all home and while setting it up the next day we discovered that the 2 inch thick piece of foam that was supposed to be on top was missing. We called Jeff, the owner of the shop, and it took 3 weeks to get the sponge to the store and the corners were not rounded off like they were supposed to be. This problem caused the lining in the zippered comparment that the foam was to fit in too pull apart and rip. We called Jeff once again and he had me take pictures to send him and told me to bring it in and they would repair it. How long would that be? Two weeks. Two weeks went by and no word from him. We went to the shop to check on it and the woman working that night found it in the back room still in the bag we brought it in. What great service! Ok, we were nice about it and wete informed it would definately be back on Wednesday. I called every single Wednesday for the next 5 weeks snd each time was assured I would have it on the next Wednesday. I even called Terry at the warehouse where it was sent Same thing from him. Finally my husband had had enough because now the bed was getting out of shape because we didnt have the piece that keeps it in the frame. We went to the store again to find out what was going on...2 months now. We were told to see Jeff. My husband left a message for Jeff. He has till 6:00 tomorrow to have the piece delivered to the house or you will have to deal with me and you wont like it. So I called today and was hung up on 4 times. So I called back and said I would be at the store in 20 minutes.

Hello Cathy. The waterbed was bought in august 2013. I am not aware of any issues at the time of purchase. If there was an issue why did the customer not do a review 14 months ago. What has happened here is, We were sent a photo of a tear in the material of Cathy's Bed approx. 6-8 weeks ago or approx. 1 year after delivery of product. We suggested it may be faster to deal with the manufacture directly, and gave her there contact info. Sunday Oct 5, Cathy and her husband came into the store looking for the owner and to have the owner resolve this by 6pm Monday. I Jeff Reynolds the owner was not in Sunday, but I did call Cathy at 10:01 Monday morning. Much to my surprise this warranty issue had not been resolved, I immediately called the Manufacture and raised hell. I called Cathy back 1 hour later and told her a repaired or New cover would be delivered wed or thurs at the latest. At approx. 5:30 Monday I received a phone call from a Ballistic man, who turned out to be Cathys husband, who I have never spoke to prior. Well he was yelling and screaming to the point I had to hang up on. I assume Cathy had perhaps not communicated with him earlier on , I'm not really sure. Tuesday Morning at 11am approx. I again called cathy to assure her a NEW cover was going to be drooped off on wed Oct 8. I also mentioned to her that I would give her a free electric pump rental and a free bottle of conditioner. In closing I mentioned to her, that if the Owner of the company does not know that the manufacturer has been giving her the run around, then how can one help!! I found out Monday Oct 6 at 10 am. We are having a new cover delivered free of charge wed Oct 8 in the afternoon, with a free rental and bottle of conditioner . I think that is pretty good customer service! Jeff Reynolds Bedroom shop

    Futon Purchase

I was searching for so long to find a quality futon frame that did not look like it belonged in a dorm room. I was so pleased with the selection and quality of wood futon frames here. I selected a pine frame (less expensive than some of the hard woods), but the frame was so thick and sturdy I did not think twice. I am sure it will last many years. Sales staff was friendly and knowledgeable, although the gentleman who helped me was a bit pushy when I didn't buy on my first visit. When I went back to purchase I dealt with someone else. Would definitely recommend.

Bedroom Set & Kitchen Table w. Chairs

After reviewing this store's website my husband and I thought we were entering a furniture superstore, there were photos and descriptions of almost any peice of furniture available, including Ashley furniture; however, after we arrived at the store, it looked rather run down with virtually no cars in the small parking area. We were greeted by a friendly sales person and saw that the store only displays bedroom sets and futons [despite the name, the website seems to suggest otherwise]. We saw that there was a store promo to buy a bedroom set and get the boxspring and mattress for free, so we did see a set that we were interested in, and then were told that if we purchased a table that they could make a packaged deal. We ended up selecting a counter height table and 6 chairs as well as a king sized bedroom set, that was where the experience went sour. I have had experiences in the past with furniture stores not having the peice you have ordered and paid for in stock, and then they wait until you put a non-refundable deposit down to tell you it won't come for 4 months, so I addressed this concern with the sales person, I suppose his credibility was similar to that of an uneducated used car salesman, because he assured me and my husband that ALL of their furniture is shipped from California and it WOULD NOT BE ANY LONGER than 6 weeks, which was fine because we didn't need it for 7 weeks. So thank god I paid with my visa card and not cash, I suggest that you always pay with visa so that if there was any dispute there would be a third party to help you as a consumer. We were supposed to hear from the store 7 weeks later to confirm that everything was set to go as planned, instead we had to call and we were told that they would get back to us, only to find out that the bedroom set was in, but the table was delayed two weeks, so we agreed to wait the extra weeks. Two weeks went by and my husband received a call from a blocked number, where someone claimed to be the store manager saying that the table would be delayed another week and after we demanded to have our bedroom set at least, it finally arrived with plenty of damages. It also had several stamps of being made in Thailand, the delivery people also punched a hole right through the back of the dresser while trying to lift the box and damaged our walls in our 2 week old home. When I called to report the damages, the person told us we would get a call on Monday to confirm the action the store would take now, and also to follow up with the table. Two days after Monday again a blocked number called and said they would replace all the peices with damage which was very unneccesary. Nonetheless, another week went by and no table arrived as well as no replacement peices. I had gotten frustrated and called the store, they told me not to call there anymore and that the salesperson was wrong to tell us the table would be in for sure, and they even hung up on me several times. Once I got Visa involved, and they made phone calls to the store informing them of my issues, the table was delivered the following week. The repairs were another story, the new peices were worse than the first and they brought a head board that was too small. Now, a contracted repair person came out to repair the damages, but no compensation was offered. I was told by the store that the delay with the table was because I should have known the store doesn't sell tables so I should have known better than to wonder why it was delayed for 12 weeks. For anyone who wants to be treated fairly and receive merchandise that is worth what you pay for, I strongly suggest that you go to a reputable store that doesn't depend on your money to pay their rent. If you do by from a small store please use your visa despite the deal they are offering, because then you can have someone on your side to dispute if merchandise is not received in a timely fashion. But at all costs AVOID THIS STORE

    Redecorating Sunroom and Office

Futons look amazing, I never would have thought they could look so good and be such good quality. With over 400 fabric choices I could really customize my look. The day beds are top quality and they have quite a selection. I'm going to get one of there bedroom sets next.
